£30. I live alone and have lots of water saving things, and no garden

QuietLifeNoDrama · 04/09/2025 16:34

£64, two adults & 1 child

Oxo01 · 04/09/2025 16:36

Gone up to about £53 a month 3 bed house 3 adults.

Inlimboin50s · 04/09/2025 16:39

It was around 550 a couple of years ago but this year it's gone up to 760!! Myself, a teen and now a lodger to help pay all my bills. No meter.

Fizzfamm · 04/09/2025 16:40

£60 a month, 4 people.

Teenagerantruns · 04/09/2025 16:41

£38, 2 bedroom flat, normally 2 of us here.

Boomer55 · 04/09/2025 16:42

£41 per month. Thames Water, 2 bed flat. Live alone. Metered.

Ilovepastafortea · 04/09/2025 16:44

£27. 2 of us (regular visiting GC). But we save water at every opportunity. We keep buckets in the bathroom & kitchen for saved water to flush the loo -put bucket under shower until it runs warm, same with hot water tap when washing up (only use dishwasher when GC have eaten at our's & there's lots of washing up), washing up water used to water garden, even the stale water from dog bowl goes into the kitchen bucket.

Have a 'if it's yellow, let it mellow' policy. 4 water buts for watering garden.

Generaltwat · 04/09/2025 16:44

£58 per month. Yorkshire Water

3 adults - daily showers, lots of laundry, rarely wash the cars.. sometimes water the garden( we currently are on a hosepipe ban)

It's WAY cheaper than what the water 'rates' would be if we weren't on a meter.

EveryDayisFriday · 04/09/2025 16:44

£65pm. Large 4 bed with teen daughters that have leisurely showers despite trying to get them to be brief. Wash the 2 cars every month.

Florence4170 · 04/09/2025 16:45

That's really helpful, thank you very much.
I am disputing a bill but their offices are currently closed. At 4.45 on a normal working Thursday 🤷‍♀️

£68 pcm but similar to this

Rightandwrong · 04/09/2025 17:37

Gosh this thread is an eye opener for me. I live in Scotland and the water is included in the council tax.

cardibach · 04/09/2025 17:40

£23 a month. I live alone and don’t wash everything t( second I’ve looked at it but otherwise don't really think about it. 3 bed terrace with a small garden

EilonwyWithRedGoldHair · 04/09/2025 17:40

Just gone up to £70/mth. 2 adults, 1 child.

Unmetered would be a little over £100/mth I think, so not insignificant savings and we're not as careful as we could be.

CagerUmbonate · 04/09/2025 17:41

£38 per month, family of 5 with four bathrooms.

whenimnotcleaningwindows · 04/09/2025 17:43

This is what I worry about - a lot of these seem high to me but I live alone and everywhere seems to say being on a meter is cheaper for single occupancy homes. Is that anyone here's experience?

Symposium · 04/09/2025 17:44

Just gone up to £118 per month, Thames water, metered

LoafofSellotape · 04/09/2025 17:44

50 a month , Anglian water, 3 bed house big garden.
