Just that! - how much is your monthly bill please?

OP posts:
Ineffable23 · 04/09/2025 18:24

£20 per month in my own, Eastern England. I think you need to know where people are because water bills vary massively

TooManyCupsAndMugs · 04/09/2025 18:24

£70 a month, East of England, metered. Family of 4

BurntBroccoli · 04/09/2025 18:27

£30 - dishwater once every 2 days so full load, daily shower, washing 2-3 full loads eco cycle. Also water the garden with hose in summer. Don’t flush loo after a wee except when have company!
Frugal use!

2 adults

RedRiverShore5 · 04/09/2025 18:28

£50 a month, Anglian Water, 2 retired adults, 3 bed house.

FlorenceB19 · 04/09/2025 18:28

£71.50 a month with Wessex water. Metered 2 bed house, 2 adults. We only shower daily (no bath, no dish washer & no garden hose!!)
I'm convinced we're over charged!!
I must chase it up... but keep getting side tracked! 🤦🏽‍♀️

OhNoNotSusan · 04/09/2025 18:30

also no garden hose

no dishwater either

BurntBroccoli · 04/09/2025 18:31

Just gone up to £118 per month, Thames water, metered

Do you have a pool or hot tub! That’s astronomical. How much do they charge per cubic litre?

CalzoneOnLegs · 04/09/2025 18:33

@FlorenceB19 mine went up from £26 for first 18 months, now it’s £47, huge jump, I think Wessex Water make it up as they go along as nothing has changed here

TotHappy · 04/09/2025 18:35

£117 per month, 2 adults & 3 kids, no working shower so all baths. South West Water. Cowboys.

tapdancingmum · 04/09/2025 18:38

I've just asked my company to put me on an assessed charge as they can't fit a water meter so ours is based on the rateable value of the house. It was just over £600 last year and this year it's £850. We have 3 bedrooms and 3 people (one of which is not here at the weekends) so I hope it will come down a bit

Mimilamore · 04/09/2025 18:41

£60, they wanted £77.00 but I argued… 2 old codgers!

Mimilamore · 04/09/2025 18:43

So many variations… I agree that the numbers just seem to be made up as they go along…

aspidernamedfluffy · 04/09/2025 18:46

2 of us, no dishwasher, a quick shower (it turns itself off after 6 minutes) each every day, and our bill has just gone up from £22 pm to £25 pm. We're with Wessex.

Belladog1 · 04/09/2025 18:48

£35 a month. I live alone.

I am slightly in arrears as one of my toilets got jammed in flush mode for over a day before I realised. Why the cistern didn't empty i dont know, but it was cascading water into the bowl.

tomorrowchild · 04/09/2025 19:00

£99 a month metered,3 adults, 2 bedroom house.
South west water

Knowing what random strangers pay won't help with your dispute, do you think your volume used or your rate is too high or even both?

Have you taken daily readings to see what the meter is saying you've used and compared it to your previous bills? Do you think you maybe have a leak?

None of those things. The property has been empty and they are charging about the same as I pay. They are also saying that they have reduced my bill as I am in credit.i have repeatedly explained that the property has been sold and as it has been empty it is using no water.
So yes it is actually very helpful to know what people are paying.
Just as a matter of interest they messaged yesterday to say that they have closed my home account.

South East Water - 2 adults in a 2 bed house. Our average monthly usage according to the meter is £26.72. We use it to wash, cook and clean but as it’s a really chalky area buy bottled water for drinking

TheDayWeGotMinnie · 04/09/2025 19:07

Generaltwat · 04/09/2025 16:44

£58 per month. Yorkshire Water

3 adults - daily showers, lots of laundry, rarely wash the cars.. sometimes water the garden( we currently are on a hosepipe ban)

It's WAY cheaper than what the water 'rates' would be if we weren't on a meter.

That's interesting. Mine almost doubled to £55 with Yorkshire water a few months ago. I'm a single mum out at work all day and my two kids are with me 50% of the time. Nothing has changed in five years and yet boom. Double 🤷🏻‍♀️

Seawolves · 04/09/2025 19:09

£36, 1 adult and 1 child, metered but very heavy water user, 2 baths a day some days and 1-2 loads of washing (disabled child, baths used as part of pain management, lots of reflux, incontinent).

WestwardHo1 · 04/09/2025 19:09

£35. Just me in a 2 bedroom house. My bill tells me I use less than average. Metered.

SW Water though, so expensive. We have to pay for tourists' turds.

itsanothernamechangeone · 04/09/2025 20:10

£59 per month, family of 5. Was £35 until this month!

whirlyhead · 04/09/2025 20:45

2 adults, big garden though I only water the younger plants and a pool. About £30 a month.

SENlife · 04/09/2025 20:49

£18 - 2ad 4 ch
Not sure how it's so cheap. We thought we were linked wrong but we checked and it's correct
