OP posts:
Smithson85 · 04/09/2025 20:57

We also think ours is wrong as its only £17 - but we've been here 5 years and they come out to read the meter every year so 🤷‍♀️ South Staffs - 3 bed, 2 adults 1 child.

buffyfaithfredwesley · 04/09/2025 20:58

Single and about £31

2dogsandabudgie · 04/09/2025 20:59

Ours has gone up from £60 a month to £85 a month. 3 adults, South East water, that includes waste water. On a meter. Can't believe how low some of these bills are.

Edited to add South East water put their charges up by 20% in April of this year.

alphabetti · 04/09/2025 21:09

3 bed house in North East. Mainly myself and 4yr old although my 19yr old away at uni pops back regularly. Meter already fitted when
bought the house and paying £49 per month over 12mth. Standard billing used to be cheaper for us. Could leon save by doing less washing but like to keep on top of it.

TattiePants · 04/09/2025 21:09

£60 per month for 3 adults and one child.

HurdyGurdy19 · 04/09/2025 21:15

£48 per month

Three adults. Daily showers. Dishwasher on daily. Washing machine on three times a week.

We’re with South Staffs too, billed every six months and it’s works out at £40 per month. They read the meter once a year, the other bill is estimated.

We’re a three adult household although our son stays at his girlfriend’s house for a few nights every week.

£130/month!!!!!!!

Wessex Water.

Just two of us.

We don't do anything crazy.

Have taken meter readings. No leaks.

Really don't understand this!

Chickenbone123 · 04/09/2025 21:24

Ours is over £700 for 6 months.

Turns out we are leaking 600 litres of water a day somewhere!! Yet to be found.

TheGreatWesternShrew · 04/09/2025 21:26

£44 a month

Ours is £180 no leaks either...but 4 of us 😪
Southern water.... we're paying for all their leaks and for them to pump sewage into the Solent. Great value.

itsachickeninnit · 04/09/2025 21:33

£32

aCatCalledFawkes · 04/09/2025 21:33

£46 on a meter from Thames Water. For me, my 18yr old DD and my 14yr DS.

We don't go out of our way to save money at all although no one is excessive, we have baths rarely and no longer have a big paddling pool to fill like we used too. I run the dishwasher and washing machine when needed.

North East. Just checked our water usage and it’s apparently less than average around 265L a day

nannyl · 04/09/2025 21:35

ours has just gone up from £86 to £106 a month :o

Im suggesting we go back to unmetered

GRex · 04/09/2025 21:39

Some areas charge roughly 25% of other area costs. Or rather... Southern, Thames and Anglian charge 4* as much as the cheap areas. Giving an amount without the region is pointless.

I'm Thames Water. I don't mind paying extra for upgrades, much. If they could just speed up the improvement works then I wouldn't mind anyway. It is a lot though! £61/month just went up to £91/month. Some of that increase might be a water leak we had, so I'm hopeful it'll go down (but not certain of it).

Ilovemyshed · 04/09/2025 21:41

£750 total per year paid Feb and August

Beachtastic · 04/09/2025 21:46

I just asked Copilot! enormous regional variation in water rates...

To ask how much is your water bill? If you are on a meter
CagerUmbonate · 04/09/2025 21:46

It doesn’t seem fair that cost varies depending on where you live - it’s not like you can shop around! I think water should be nationalised to make bills fair across the country and not profit making.

WoahThreeAces · 04/09/2025 21:47

£91 a month, 3 adults, 2 teens, metered. Thames Water. I remember when we used to pay about £20. It's fucking criminal.

Moonlightfrog · 04/09/2025 21:51

£41.50 a month, 3 people, 3 bed house.

At least you're not with South West Water, imagine!!!!! 🤯🤯🤯

@CagerUmbonate I agree with you, it's a bit unfair as you can't shop around the way you can with other utilities. I guess water is supplied via a local network of pipes and that's that.

LIZS · 04/09/2025 21:52

£40 pm 2 adults
