To ask if you'll be attending the anti fascism protest on 13 September

1000 replies

Whatafustercluck · 26/08/2025 18:44

I'd like to go in solidarity with like minded people, but worry about it turning violent. I won't be taking my children and will likely be going alone. Lots of people I know detest Tommy Robinson but will stay away due to the likelihood of trouble, but I really want to help send a message that racism and hatred won't win. Is anyone here considering going, or decided to stay away?

No. By fascists I assume you mean people who oppose mass immigration. That doesn’t make you a fascist. It’s a perfectly rational position to hold. Multiculturalism and mass immigration have been IMPOSED on this country, and have destroyed people’s sense of identity. No one asked for it and no one voted for it. Now that’s fascism.

I don’t know how the left have got the nerve to call people like Tommy Robinson a fascist. No one on earth is more dictatorial, intolerant or hate-filled than those on the left. I have never met such horrible, spiteful people. If you do attend, be careful. The levels of smugness could become suffocating.

I totally agree. Well said Dappy777.

Freysimo · 27/08/2025 08:01

I agree. I wonder who are the backers of Stand Up to Racism? It seems well organised with printed plackards and posters, unlike the "fascist" side with homexmade stuff.

The protest itself is being crowd funded by individual donations. The list of organisational backers is at the bottom of the flyer.

A Family Friendly Free Fascist Festival for Free Speech? 😅😅😅 stay away people, don't take your children. You've all seen Yaxley Lennon knock a man to the floor and kick him in the head, cringing cowsrd that he is, and that was when he was just going about his everyday life. If he's the kind of violent criminal you admire and want to emulate then that's your misfortune.

Oh god help us another one. The violent criminal who knocked out a poor innocent man after watching a two second clip on the BBC. This is the utter claptrap spouted daily again by someone who knows nothing. The fact that Tommy was going about his business and a drunken man followed him, attacked him completely bypassed your attention. Boils my piss no end. The drunken man who attacked first begged the police to not press charges on his behalf as he was so ashamed of his behaviour and gave a statement saying it was all his fault and apologised proffusely. Tommy immediately ringing the police to report and fully admit his own actions . You have absolutely no idea of the truth. Have you seen the full cctv with the lead up ? Obviously not yet you are so vicious in your ignorance. You may laugh at us all you like but please get the facts straight on what point you are trying to argue. Sometimes it must be lovely to live in fantasy land ..your world in your head must be full of sparkles and fairy dust, Facts are important.

rubicustellitall · 27/08/2025 04:15

Sorry but I have to say you lot know less than nothing. You come on here spouting your clap trap and don't even know what the march is for or when it is etc. It boils my blood. We are marching against the racist thugs and Tommy and Reform..do you know you don't even sound like 3rd rate politicians. You hear a tiny thing and jump on a shitty band waggon trying to sound all knowing etc and failing miserably, Do you know when and how long the planning has been for the Free Speech Festival ? Do you hell. Let me tell you long before the Antifa idiots thought of it. You jump on the hastily planned against march.. So we all laugh at you marching technically AGAINST free speech..great move! Our Festival is family friendly always .you lot can't go you say cos you can#t take the kids on your peaceful march..again great move! Our festival is open to anyone of any race and colour, they always have been .so who are you fighting for? Cannot be rascism can it? Again blinded by this simple fact, You have no idea all in all what you are talking about. You hear that name ..one name out of hundreds of organizers from charities, from media, from victims of abuse, one name and you all scream to condemn, You go on your march off you pop be proud. And I will march with the very people who are doing it to protect one thing ..YOUR Free speech. The ignorance is outstanding based on one name,,,I would research a little before trying to sound superior . Clueless totally clueless. And we are the gammons..fuck me looks like this fight for free speech should be starting on here never mind the streets of London and many other major cities round the country. The very free speech you lot of geniuses are marching against give me strength. You might want to digest this little bit before you all kick off with me too...You know that long prison sentence Tommy has just done do you know why? Oh yes contempt of court cos he is a racist evil man, a bad man you say..Yes contempt of court because he made a series of films one in particular featuring a young girl who was groomed ,and abused so badly and he released it to show you lot what the reality is for these girls in our country,He didnt shake his head and tut, He and the other contributors, social workers, teachers ,community leaders even made this not for racism reasons for trying to help young rape victims. And he woudn't bury it so pat and keith wouldn't get offended, He sacrificed his own chidren and family to support and draw attention to this horrific issue and he went to jail gladly in order to do it. Still never mind eh not your problem. You really need to see beyond the BBC.

Edited

This post is brilliant.

glassesandbeer · 27/08/2025 09:13

No, I've too much experience of anti-fascist types actually being black booted/ black masked wannabe be bovver boys who hate women defending their rights and hate Jews defending their right to exist. I'm not marching alongside those people.

Also, I think we are in this mess because when under-pressure communities have been speaking over decades about the issues high levels of immigration is creating in their communities, they were called racist bigots and told to shut up. I can't help feeling this march is continuing that unhelpful trend.

If instead of calling people racist bigots we had stopped and listened and sought to address their concerns we might not be in this mess and we may not even have had Brexit.

Ratafia · 27/08/2025 09:14

Yes, I'm hoping to. I'm really quite terrified of the prospect of Reform getting any sort of power, and I think this is an opportunity to show that the perception that they have a lot of support is not correct.

After listening to The rest is politics podcast the other day, Rory Stewart and Alistair Campbell were discussing the lack of the centre ground in politics and suggested the Lib Dems could fill this space if they you just get there act together and campaign more directly and seriously with the media. There is definitely a good opportunity for a better third option here.
I won't be marching though, too much of risk of getting embroiled with angry mobs.

It isn’t a lack of centre ground. We had centre ground New Labour, then the Conservative Party which was centre ground apart from 45 days of Truss and now we have the current centre ground Labour Party. The centre ground is so crowded with incompetent politicians, they are tripping over each other’s ideas.

I would love it if Rory Stewart, Alistair Campbell and the Lib Dems join forces. Remember when all of those Uniparty cretins broke ranks and set up their own thing? Change UK or something. How did that go? This would end the same way, lots of utter rubbish taking itself out and doing us all a favour.

Family friendly day out. 😳🙄

How arrogant you must be to think the Union flag equals 'bad'.

Nobody's said the flag is bad.
Context and intent, people. Which gets conveniently ignored.

The kind of parents who want to express a clear stake in their children's futures. The kind of parents who push their own disabled parents in wheelchairs because the elder generation feel strongly about attending too however challenging navigating the route is for them...Those kind of people. Also the kind of people who will not be hidden behind masks unlike the other march. Those kind of people

PerkingFaintly · 27/08/2025 10:12

Yaxley-Lennon was imprisoned for trying to cause to a rape trial to collapse.

The first time he did it you might imagine it was ignorance (still no defence), despite the expensive legal advice he has access to. Then he did it a second time.

So excuse me if I don't believe his interest in women and girls extends beyond what he can use us for.

He may have been imprisoned for other things too.

PerkingFaintly · 27/08/2025 10:14

Using women when we're convenient for him then throwing us under the bus when we're not is exactly how he treated his female coworker I linked above.

I do agree with this ( although I think I may come from a different angle from this poster). The problem isn't whether the politicians are centre ground or left or right. The problem is that we just don't have very good or competent politicians.

We need to stop and look at why we are not attracting high calibre people into politics and I am afraid that we the electorate probably hold a good deal of the responsibility for that. We hate our politicians, they get tonnes of abuse and we suppress their pay, accusing them of greed. Why would any competent person want to go into that when they could earn far more in a job they are not publicly abused for having?

PerkingFaintly · 27/08/2025 10:17

See also his behaviour to a female reporter when she asked him for comment before her outlet published a story on his alleged assault of a man at a station.

He responded with "Slag."

No. I regard all protests as virtue signalling of the worst kind and I have better things to do with my time.

The fact that Jordan Peterson will be speaking is hardly a draw, Tedious man IMO.

My sister goes to a lot of anti racism marches, I don’t think they have ever got violent - the police keep the 2 sides well apart!

This- having marched with the Anti Nazi League many a time it was always absolutely fine.
Study the route march carefully, take food and water and find a quieter/ sedate part of the march to walk with

I suspect you’ve met very few people in real life - you sound like you spend too long on the internet believing everything you read. Start reading real books and journals, stop taking idiots “facts” at face value.

In my experience, it's those on the left who have no contact with reality. The reason I abandoned the left and now identify as a conservative is that left-wing people are guided by vague, dreamy idealism. When those ideals are then imposed on society, they cause nothing but chaos. That's why I'm a conservative but not a Thatcherite. Thatcher was no better than Corbyn. They are two sides of the same coin. Like Corbyn she had fixed and fanatical ideas and utter contempt for anyone who disagreed.

It is because I have met 'real people' that I am a moderate conservative. Humans are basically bad. We're not naturally civilized. On the contrary, we find it very hard to behave in a compassionate and civilized way. That is why I wish to conserve things that have taken centuries to to build – refined manners, civilized conversation, the literary canon, the nation state, etc. I am deeply suspicious of left-wing people. I suspect their motives. So many of them are motivated not by sympathy or compassion but by hatred and destruction. They are destructive by nature. Many of them never grow out of the adolescent stage. So many of the traits we associate with adolescence are found in left-wing people – the arrogance, the contempt for tradition and hierarchy, the urge to smash and provoke, etc.

Mass immigration is a way to provoke people. It's a way of destroying and smashing things up. It has pretty much destroyed my national identity. I emphasize the word mass. When people move to a country in small numbers, and move because they love its history and culture, they can be quickly assimilated. But when people move to a country in huge numbers, and either have no interest in its culture or frankly hate it, that country is finished. A speech writer for New Labour said their plan was to use immigration to "rub the right's nose in diversity and render their arguments out of date." Note the spite and nastiness of that language – rub your nose in it. The left have used immigration as a tool or weapon to destroy our national identity. And they have done it not because they love multiculturalism or care about the immigrants but because it hurts and provokes and upsets 'little Englanders'.

I'm also astonished by their hypocrisy. They constantly attack others for being 'intolerant' when they are the most intolerant people you will ever meet. I am patriotic and wish to preserve a sense of national identity. But no, I'm wrong. Shut your mouth. You are going to be multicultural, whether you like it or not. Oh, and we're in favour of tolerance! They attack others for being inhumane, yet no one on earth is more vicious than they are. I know the left thoroughly enjoy covering this island in disgusting new build homes. Anyone who objects to having giant new estates in their village is a 'nimby'. I mean wtf?! Of course people don't want endless house building. It would odd if they did. But the left enjoy seeing those horrible little Daily Mail-reading nimbys have their lives ruined. You see, hatred and spite towards them is OK. That doesn't count.

Calling these people fascists really undermines anyone’s intellect

Letstheriveranswer · 27/08/2025 11:32

I wouldn't go to anything arranged and backed by the SWP. In my opinion they are the biggest sh*t stirrers around at the moment and left wing fascism is still fascism.

5MinuteArgument · 27/08/2025 11:50

I won't be going because I don't support open borders. Many of the 'anti fascist' placards call for open borders.

The HMOs will be set up in the poorest neighbourhoods, which tells you everything you need to know.
