To ask if you'll be attending the anti fascism protest on 13 September

I'd like to go in solidarity with like minded people, but worry about it turning violent. I won't be taking my children and will likely be going alone. Lots of people I know detest Tommy Robinson but will stay away due to the likelihood of trouble, but I really want to help send a message that racism and hatred won't win. Is anyone here considering going, or decided to stay away?

Not only illegal entries, but all immigration? Which issues do you find with legal migrants?

It is a honest question.
I do hear in real life about the boats, the hotels, and troublemakers who refuse to integrate or operate withink UK law/ culture.
But a take on all immigrants, no, that I have not come across. What is that worries you about the whole of immigrants when you say reviewing?

Dappy777 · 26/08/2025 22:13

No. By fascists I assume you mean people who oppose mass immigration. That doesn’t make you a fascist. It’s a perfectly rational position to hold. Multiculturalism and mass immigration have been IMPOSED on this country, and have destroyed people’s sense of identity. No one asked for it and no one voted for it. Now that’s fascism.

I don’t know how the left have got the nerve to call people like Tommy Robinson a fascist. No one on earth is more dictatorial, intolerant or hate-filled than those on the left. I have never met such horrible, spiteful people. If you do attend, be careful. The levels of smugness could become suffocating.

thank you for speaking sense. I agree wholeheartedly

The word pathetic is being kind to them. Comparing them to sheep is probably an insult to sheep, so I apologise for that. A more accurate word would be 'ugly.'

Yes it is pathetic to go about painting roundabouts or whatever. Yes they 100% demeaning the flag by their association and hijacking's of it. These people do not represent the U.K, no matter how loud they shout or how many flags they wave. Most people in the U.K. see them as a national embarrassment.

It appears there are a growing number of people concerned at the number of migrants entering the country. Calling people pathetic doesn't help with social cohesive either.

I'm not sure any large census has been done to indicate how many people or what percentage of the UK population is concerned about immigration rates. It certainly figures in topics discussed when parties campaign which indicates it is important to enough people.

MushMonster · 02/09/2025 19:36

Is it a 16% of UK population is foreign born? Or around there?

Rachel234561 · 02/09/2025 21:35

If it wasn’t my son’s birthday, I’d be there in support of Tommy, Free Speech and putting the indigenous people of the UK first. I’m not a ‘Far right’ thug. I’ve lived in a Muslim majority area. As a child at high school I witnessed young vulnerable white girls be called ‘Paki Sh**ers’ who unbeknown to me at the time were victims of a nation wide grooming gang. May I add Bolton has never been highlighted as an area that has been affected by this - trust me it was - therefore perpetrators are walking free right now!!! I watched as the Muslim boys celebrated the twin towers falling followed by attacking white boys, when I was in year 9. I have had my 2 year old niece spat on because my sister rented a house in a ‘Muslim’ area. I witnessed white kids being called ‘sweats’. My sister (who is half Indian) was nearly dragged into a Pakistani’s car on the streets of Bolton, luckily she managed to get away. Eye witness and statistics aren’t racist. I’ve had enough!!! I fear for children’s safety. 90% of MI5 caseload is Islamic terrorist. NOT FAR RIGHT. Sick of being tolerant when we are being let down and ignored and branded racist for being critical of an ideology that isnt compatible with mine!!! Voted Labour all my life and to remain in EU. I’ve had enough of this mess!!!

I agree with this. Those shouting it down are literally calling more than half the populations views pathetic etc.. Far too many peoples opinions to brush under tgd carpet as nonsense. It will bite back at the next election. The public will speak as the general consensus is that the majority are fed up.

If you take the Brexit vote several years ago, mass unskilled immigration was the reason people voted for it (not quite the same thing as now) They were sick of the open door policy back then, so the numbers would be even higher now no doubt whatsoever.

The fact reform is sailing ahead in the poles and getting more momentum with each passing month, it’s safe to say whilst we don’t have exact figures, it will be well over half the population. I would say more like 2/3 (minimum) -3/4 of the population are fed up with everything. Even though they might not agree with everything Reform is about they will still vote then because they are fed up to the back teeth of what’s happening now.

hotelinfo · 03/09/2025 07:24

I used to work in Child Protection and sadly, most grooming gangs are not featured in the national press. Now we are only hearing about specific cases when they prove a political agenda - ie. the perpetrators are Muslim. But there will be many, many grooming gangs right now, led by white British men, or any types of men you can think of. There was a huge ones when I was working - never made the news.

Sexual crimes are one of the few crime types to not correspond to race, culture or economic demographic. Most women are assaulted or raped by a family member, on a date, or by someone they know.

There was an article in the news yesterday that more women in the UK are killed by their own sons, than by other men. Wtf!

Because of online porn, girls are being subject to acts like 'choking' as if it's a normal expectation. I have kids at university and this kind of culture is rife, even at places like Oxford. 'Upper class' entitled males are hugely implicated in this type of behaviour, as they always were.

Every time my girls go out, they have lewd comments shouted at them by 'white van men.' Every time they walk past a building site, it's the same. I experienced the same when I was younger. I'm sure we all did. Nothing changes. But I imagine, for Farage et al, this would just be 'good old harmless British banter.' Unless the white van driver happens to be non-white of course.

The grooming gangs weren't stopped due to fears of being called racists. Crazy isn't it. Cover up serious crime due to worry of being called racist.

I also recall celebrations in some sectors after 9/11 and after October 7th. Vile celebrating by people who.live in this country. It also appears to some ok to wave Palestinian flags but not British or English flags. The English flag labelled as racist but the Palestinian flag ok. People are fed up with some doing what they want and shouting racism at any pushback.

Try walking through a Muslim area of a large city. There are currently more white men and they commit more crime against women. However, the men entering with very exist backward views on women's place in society is troubling. We have problems with men, why add more young men from unequal rights for women countries to the mix.

And 2/3 of the U.K. are not in support of Reform. Nowhere near. I think some people might project what's going on in their own very small communities, onto the entire nation! I'm in London. It's multi-cultural, obviously. Nobody talks the way a few posters do on here. Honestly, it's unheard of.

All my kids have worked with refugees in Calais because their schools send them.

hotelinfo · 03/09/2025 07:40

I have travelled solo through Northern Pakistan and other remote Muslim areas. You are no more likely to be sexually assaulted there than travelling through Europe. The harassment may be slightly different - eg. I found men in Northern Pakistan would stare more (but be scared to approach); whereas men in say Italy will constantly be cat-calling and approaching you. In places like Egypt, they follow you for photos. But, my point is, there are decent men and not-so-decent men in all cultures. Of course there are! It's ridiculous to argue otherwise.

Really? Schools send children and minors to work around asylum seekers in the Calais camps? That doesn’t sound very responsible.

I’m not against school children being shown newsreel and being invited to debate issues of immigration, asylum and population movement. But I certainly wouldn’t have let my kids wander around asylum seekers’ camps.

hotelinfo · 03/09/2025 07:48

Yes my kids went to a school and they routinely send all students to volunteer for Care for Calais (in Calais). All students do it in Lower 6th. They take clothing, distribute food and supplies, talk with the refugees, find out their individual stories first hand. No girl has ever come back having been harassed, to my knowledge. My girls certainly did not feel in any danger. They went back twice. They receive more sexual harassment on an average day on the tube, or any time they walk past a building site, or from the average white van man, etc.

@Rachel234561 - and if you are weirdly insinuating that my kids school only sent them to CareFor Calais because it's a Muslim school, you could not be more wrong. It is one of the top independent schools in the U.K, located in West London.

I said ‘like a’. Yes pedos and Gang rapists are monsters! Are you saying they aren’t?! Shocking!! Yes silence peoples concerns and eye witness testimony. That’s basically why people are getting really, really angry!

On a local level, four months ago, Reform swept the board in England’s local elections. The party won almost 700 seats, and took control of 12 councils and two mayoral authorities.

And look what a mess they’re making of it. If they continue along this trajectory for four years, what chance do you think they’ve got of being elected to run the country?
