To ask if you'll be attending the anti fascism protest on 13 September

I'd like to go in solidarity with like minded people, but worry about it turning violent. I won't be taking my children and will likely be going alone. Lots of people I know detest Tommy Robinson but will stay away due to the likelihood of trouble, but I really want to help send a message that racism and hatred won't win. Is anyone here considering going, or decided to stay away?

And 2/3 of the U.K. are not in support of Reform. Nowhere near. I think some people might project what's going on in their own very small communities, onto the entire nation! I'm in London. It's multi-cultural, obviously. Nobody talks the way a few posters do on here. Honestly, it's unheard of.

All my kids have worked with refugees in Calais because their schools send them.

I’m surprised at this too. A quick google

Migrants camps in France are extremely dangerous, primarily due to hazardous living conditions like lack of sanitation, risk of infection, and inadequate shelter, which can lead to injuries, illness, and even death. These dangers are compounded by threats from police evictions, with the risk of physical abuse and violence, as well as exploitation by criminal smuggling networks.

Was it recently?

Re the 2/3 part they are polling higher than anyone else by a fair margin atm.

If you bothered to look, that thread is crammed with links to facts. Your link is to Reform’s aspirations, not its achievements.

I’ve read what you posted.

Reform UK council set to save £1.2m a year by replacing 15,000 streetlights

Haven’t done it yet.

As for Nottinghamshire, a paltry saving on councillors’ allowances and boycotting the local media so there’s no accountability is nothing to boast about.

Look at the thread.

They need time to clear up the mess they inherited - just like this crappy Labour government keep saying 🙄

Rachel234561 · 03/09/2025 09:52

I’m not for reform, or labour or conservatives. They are literally out for themselves and their donors only. I want to vote Green with my heart, but I do think if we have a Muslim majority in this country - we are doomed. All the blasphemy laws will emerge, equal rights, heritage we have literally died for will be gone - forever. We’ve witnessed councils of Muslim majority councils where the new ‘independent’ MPs have emerged- we’ve seen where their loyalties lie from their policies and speeches- not with England, but with Pakistan and Palestine. No religion or ideology should be protected from criticism via blasphemy laws.

Reform hasn’t inherited any mess. All those councils were perfectly well run before they got their hands on them. I bet they won’t keep them in 2029.

Apparently people who don't want limitless illegal immigrants pouring into the country are fascists. My husband is going on the protest but to protest against illegal immigration. And it's a peaceful protest so not thugs or violence

I think it is more against those who did absolutely nothing about the issues now being blamed on immigrants, before people decided (against evidence) that it is the fault of immigrants.

Have you seen the statistics for convictions for crimes against women amongst the men who protest outside hotels? Drug convictions too. I would be really worried if my male partner stood shoulder to shoulder in unison with them.

The impact of domestic violence and drug trading is huge on society and so very expensive. It baffles me that people want to stand with the perpetrators pointing their fingers at others.

And then there is the political exploitation of these men. Instead of offering them self esteem and emotional health support they are being manipulated by people using them as a smokescreen to get richer and to support others getting richer while our services have absolutely no investment.

My kids left the school in 2019 and 2021. I'm not sure if the school still do it, I can't confirm that. But I can tell you there was no particular panic about safety. No more than any other trip. And these students were 16/17. The biggest concern was the cold for the ones who went in winter.

But this school is in Hammersmith, so students are well-used to mixing with people of all backgrounds and from all types of circumstances.

Statistics?! . Where did they pull these from? So a poll was taken from the protesters by some asking - ‘Excuse me sir, whilst you are protesting here, what is your criminal background?’
How ridiculous do you sound. Literal made up lies by the left…

This is a bit silly. It’s dangerous for migrants in the camps. Not about ‘mixing with others’

hotelinfo · 03/09/2025 10:09

@EasternStandard - I'm just telling you what happened. There was no outrage from parents or students that the migrant camp was particularly unsafe.

@hotelinfo "Most people in the U.K. see them as a national embarrassment."

And your evidence for that is...?

Well for starters the whole of Wales were wondering about their education when they painted English flags on Welsh streets.

Where and when?

More info please.

Just found it.

Must be some English visitors on the way to the golf club.

It seems DfE have realised it is unsafe since then.

No, UK schools do not organize educational trips to migrant camps in France, as official advice in 2021 from the UK's Department for Education (DfE) discouraged such visits due to public health concerns and a lack of clarity on travel rules, and has not been updated to allow them since.

Before you start calling anyone ridiculous, check the source.

Police data released under Freedom of Information laws shows that 41% of 899 people arrested for last summer’s riots had already been reported for domestic abuse, and in some forces it was as high as 68%.

That’s not a poll, it’s police records.

You still haven’t shown where Hotelinfo supposedly said her kids went to a Muslim school, because she never did – that was you making it up.

And your post calling Muslims “monsters” was removed because it was vile.

Treeteas · 03/09/2025 10:31

Meanwhile, as chaos increases in the West, the East demonstrate their power and togetherness in China! The world is heading to very dangerous places.

Back on subject, I was in London last year for the Theatre (Strand) and unfortunately it clashed with that big far right protest day. It wasn’t very pleasant. Very football hooligan type men singing “Engerland” and “Rule Britannia” to anyone who would listen. The police just filming them and arresting the odd one for being too OTT. Horrible atmosphere.

Yes I saw this data too. Be very careful who you stand among.

Your post was removed because its language was blatantly racist. If you really can't grasp that, nobody can help you.
