To think she owes him a public apology?

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-15024445/Conor-Maynard-paternity-test-results-revealed-Charlotte-Chilton-demanded-second-test-ongoing-row-daughter-Penelope.html

Brief summary: Charlotte, from S2 of The Traitors UK, claimed she had a ONS with Conor Maynard, resulting in the birth of her daughter. She was quick to drag his name through the mud as being a deadbeat dad for not providing her with support, but two paternity tests later, it has been conclusively revealed that he isn't the father.

What an embarrassing situation for her. Surely as a woman if you're shagging multiple men at a similar time, it's basic sense to at least be sure of who the father is before publicly naming them and making accusations!

Perhaps she hoped it was Conor because he was single at the time, and the other potential father/s weren't?!

That poor girl. She's going to see all this online when she grows up. And all because of her mother's stupidity.

Surely Charlotte owes Conor a grovelling public apology at the very least?

Charlotte Chilton breaks her silence over second paternity test result

Charlotte, 32, announced in June last year that Conor, also 32, was the father of her unborn 'miracle' baby.

@SaltAirAndTheRust Exactly, he wasn't sure it wasn't, but wouldn't take a test until there was public pressure.

@rwalker A victim of what? I just don't think she should apologise for making a potential father take a paternity test.

But moreso I don't think he's some saint because he was lucky enough not to have been the dad.

AnAlpacaForChristmasPleaseSanta · 23/08/2025 13:06

DressOrSkirt · 23/08/2025 12:35

If he had other proof he wasn't the dad he could have used that (not publicly, with lawyers) to shut it down.

Doing the test shows there was a possibility he was the dad.

Why should he have had to have done things privately when Charlotte was continually openly trashing him in public?

FWIW I think the entire thing should have been conducted in private but it if one side is determined to publicly slate the other then they shouldn't be expected not to also have a public right of reply.

I would also think he did the tests, plural to make her stop and one negative test should have been enough, but it wasn't.

But you posted that he shouldn't have engaged, so he is wrong for doing what you said that he should do.

He is a victim of her saying that he was a deadbeat dad etc.
And if she was right for making him take the test and he was wrong for taking the test than who is right is your contradiction?

what could he possibly do for you to believe that he is not wrong in this?

Silverbirchleaf · 23/08/2025 13:08

The thing is though, she didn’t have to do this in the public eye. She could have done this privately, (although then would have missed out on the newspapers fee, if there was one?).

People have commented that the daughter could read threads like this in the future and how hurtful they could be. In that case, her mother shouldn’t have made the whole debacle public.

CalamityGanon · 23/08/2025 13:13

DressOrSkirt · 23/08/2025 02:40

Then why even take any paternity tests?

Clearly there was a possibility he was the father, yet he wouldn't step up or take those tests until there was publicity around it.

Because she was insistent that he was and the only way she and the general public would accept it was via a DNA test. He may know he’s infertile. He may have medical evidence to prove it but there’ll still be people saying it was a miracle baby and a chance in a million. If he is infertile why does he need to tell private medical information to a load of randoms?! It’s nobody’s business other than his and any future partners.

How many women claim to say they’ve had a medical condition and told they’ll never have children then ‘ooops’ they’re pregnant. How on earth did that happen?! 🤷‍♀️

Exactly!
According to Google she did an OK magazine spread last year and they don't normally give them out for free. So I would say that beautiful baby has already been earning her keep.

ClearFruit · 23/08/2025 13:22

Imagine telling everyone you'd shagged Conor Maynard.

tommyhoundmum · 23/08/2025 13:28

PerkingFaintly · 23/08/2025 10:22

It really doesn't.

It can indicate she thinks that if she tells a lie often enough, she'll find people who'll believe her on the grounds that "surely no one would be that dishonest".

Because they themselves are decent people who would never be that dishonest.

It's cold-bloodedly exploiting other people's honesty.

It seems she thought another person was with the man when he gave the sample for the first DNA test.

RichardGeresTie · 23/08/2025 13:34

DressOrSkirt · 23/08/2025 11:44

Then he can look into other action. Sue for libel/harassment?

But by taking a paternity test (under proper conditions) that proves 100% whether he is or isn’t the father.
In this case as long as the tests were done properly he has been proven TWICE not to be the father.
If he hadn’t taken a test I imagine this woman would have sold story after story claiming she’s tried to get him involved in the child’s life.

She’s definitely in the wrong in this situation and I can’t understand why some people are defending her behaviour.

Because women are silly helpless babies who can’t ever be accountable or responsible for their behaviour. Apparently.

GreenFlag · 23/08/2025 13:37

I wonder if she put any of the other men she slept with through this or if it was just the famous one?

dayswithaY · 23/08/2025 13:43

This is a confusing situation. Why was he so sure he wasn’t the father, even before the test?

Why did she double down on her claims, even after the first DNA test?

Why don’t her parents or friends have a quiet word with her to stop this humiliation (self inflicted or not).

If the whole thing is just a desperate cash grab, she must have known that the truth would come out and only damage her.

How does the ex wife feel, they tried and failed to conceive through IVF then Charlotte cheats on her (with a man) and gets pregnant after one night.

Does she even know who the real father is? Is it possible she truly believed it was Conor, which means something much darker could have happened.

missmollygreen · 23/08/2025 13:48

Bobnobob · 22/08/2025 21:56

But the baby is the absolute spitting image of him… why double order a paternity test if you know he’s probably not the father? I think he’s cheating the system here.

Probably be cause him knowing is not enough proof?
Seems more likely than he is cheating the system. But no, "He is man, man is bad"

InterIgnis · 23/08/2025 13:48

DressOrSkirt · 23/08/2025 11:30

I disagree. Engaging in it shows there was a possibility he was the father.

If there was no possibility he should have said "it's impossible for me to be the father" and not engaged any further.

No it doesn’t. It shows that the only way to shut down her ‘he’s a horrible deadbeat that’s lying about not being the father’ media tour and clear his name, was to do a paternity test. Two paternity tests in this case, because she carried on after the first one.

If he hadn’t she absolutely would have dined out on this for years, painting him as a deadbeat.

He also has a family and a partner being impacted by this, and may very well have wanted to put a definitive end to it for their sake.

Imagine telling everyone you'd shagged Conor Maynard.

I remember back in the 90s a different woman every week seemed to be in the Sunday papers bragging about sleeping with Mick Hucknell. Its as mystifying now as it was then.

xSideshowAuntSallyXx · 23/08/2025 13:57

I want Albert from The Chase to do an OK spread, after all he's as much a celebrity as her. She's now famous for dragging an innocent man's name through the mud, and not believing the science.

If he was so sure it wasn't his, there must be more to it. He's stayed quiet as far as I can see and just released the statements. She's profiting from shagging someone (the fact that the media now pay people for stories of shagging celebrities is a real low) . Imagine how her family must be feeling, surely they can't be happy or proud of her literally telling any media outlet about how she doesn't know who the father of her baby is.

Her legal representatives apparently were there too for the first one. If they didn't notice someone else giving the DNA sample then I hope they'll be booking themselves into Specsavers asap.

I know right. Imagine bragging about that. Shock I mean, he's a cracking singer, but not very fanciable! 😬 And no, I am NOT posting a pic of myself so people can see how stunning I am! 😂

But then I got it. Grin

Yep, like many other posters here, I can't remember this woman at ALL. (From The Traitors.)

I think she set up her own recruitment business which I would imagine won't have many clients now.

The whole thing is so bizarre I can't help feeling there must be more to it - I feel so sorry for her daughter in it all.

Yes, her rep ought to have apologised.
The statement put out is awful - "we couldn't have done this without...?"
Done what? Slandered a bloke as evading responsibilities which aren't his?
Bad optics. A briefer statement stating she was wrong was all that was needed (she'd basically accused him of cheating the first one).
