To think she owes him a public apology?

Has anyone else been following this story?

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-15024445/Conor-Maynard-paternity-test-results-revealed-Charlotte-Chilton-demanded-second-test-ongoing-row-daughter-Penelope.html

Brief summary: Charlotte, from S2 of The Traitors UK, claimed she had a ONS with Conor Maynard, resulting in the birth of her daughter. She was quick to drag his name through the mud as being a deadbeat dad for not providing her with support, but two paternity tests later, it has been conclusively revealed that he isn't the father.

What an embarrassing situation for her. Surely as a woman if you're shagging multiple men at a similar time, it's basic sense to at least be sure of who the father is before publicly naming them and making accusations!

Perhaps she hoped it was Conor because he was single at the time, and the other potential father/s weren't?!

That poor girl. She's going to see all this online when she grows up. And all because of her mother's stupidity.

Surely Charlotte owes Conor a grovelling public apology at the very least?

Charlotte Chilton breaks her silence over second paternity test result

Charlotte, 32, announced in June last year that Conor, also 32, was the father of her unborn 'miracle' baby.

I have no idea who these people are but you sound really nasty OP and what a poisonous thread.
If she made him do two paternity tests she clearly believed he was the father.

There is a baby in all of this who will doubtless find this thread online one day.

And while you're throwing rocks at the woman maybe it's time men stopped having sex unprotected indiscriminately.

If you're having unprotected sex with women on a ONS basis then it's hardly beyond expectations that one day you're going to get someone pregnant.

Well, she's hardly helped herself, has she? By making this so public - which she really didn't need to do - this could and should have been handled entirely behind closed doors - she's invited public comment.

She spent months and months trashing this man's reputation - what if this has turned out to be a Caroline Flack type situation, and it had tipped him over the edge, for something that wasn't true?

And as has been noted, it's highly likely she cheated on her wife around this time. But sure, I'm the nasty one!

What's really weird is people continuing to post stuff like this despite two DNA tests proving he's not the father.

Of course she owes him a public apology but as others have said her statement just shows she's in it for the money and five minutes of fame from selling her made up story. I doubt he will get an actual apology any time soon, maybe in a years time when she wants some more publicity...

It's a bloody good job for her that he seems like a genuinely nice bloke.

Edited

I think because people see who they want to see in babies a lot of the time.

Because it was the only way to dead the issue he was being publicly harangued about?

He was accused of faking the results of the first paternity test. If he’d have refused any and said ‘it’s impossible for me to be the father for medical reasons‘ there’s no way he wouldn’t have been accused of lying and dodging responsibility.

I disagree. Engaging in it shows there was a possibility he was the father.

If there was no possibility he should have said "it's impossible for me to be the father" and not engaged any further.

I presume he would have had to if she was after maintenance.?

And then she’d continue to drag his name through the mud.

Whether there was a possibility or not is irrelevant. He’s not the father and that’s that.

CinnamonBuns67 · 23/08/2025 11:36

I don't have a clue who these people are but yes she should, if she can drag his name through the mud publicly she can be publicly acknowledge she got it wrong and apologise for it.

And then she would have gone to the press screeching “My babies popstar dad denies his daughter” complete with photoshoot.

DressOrSkirt · 23/08/2025 11:43

@x2boys I don't know how that works so fair enough! Surely he would have taken them anyway then, and probably much sooner, nothing to do with the publicity around it?

@SaltAirAndTheRust Then he can look into other action. Sue for libel/harassment?

xSideshowAuntSallyXx · 23/08/2025 11:47

The statement says she'll be telling her story in the future. All she's after is fame and money. This is what happens when you try to make celebrities out of nobodies without any talent. Lauren Goodman is another example.

LidlAmaretto · 23/08/2025 11:47

My friend was pregnant when she split up with her DD's father and was with someone else when the baby was born. There were loads of people who thought the baby 'looked like her dad' when they weren't related! The bio father wasn't on the scene and she was brought up by him as his own until he died of cancer when she was 22 😔.

When my second was born I had to read the labels on the cots in the nursery every morning to find mine, generally I think they all look alike!

All the while she’s still slagging him off? He has a right to stand up for himself.

Yes, the other action can also be "standing up for himself". I'm talking about taking the paternity test, he wouldn't have done that if there was no possibility he was the father.

I don't think she needs to apologise for doing what she had to do to get him to take the paternity test.

I’m sorry but she has slandered him, labelled him a dead beat dad, etc etc. he has done two paternity tests and she still seems to think she’s the wronged party.

She is hardly covered with glory but she clearly believed he was the father or she wouldn't have put herself through this.

The vitriol in your original post though is palpable. Whether you're male or female it's clear you hate women either way.

If she's still slandering him then she should obviously stop.

But if he had to be called a dead beat dad publicly before he would take the test, that shows he would have been a dead beat dad if the baby was his.

Or he knew she was talking shite from the off and did the tests to shut her up and stop the madness.

If he had other proof he wasn't the dad he could have used that (not publicly, with lawyers) to shut it down.

Doing the test shows there was a possibility he was the dad.

There’s a saying ‘you can’t prove a negative’. In a case like this where it is accepted they knew each other, how could he possibly prove they didn’t have sex?

Doing a paternity test if he was sure he wasn’t the father is the quickest and least intrusive (no need to release personal medical records) way to get her to go away.

Theunamedcat · 23/08/2025 12:51

rwalker · 23/08/2025 10:08

Yes grovelling apology she called him a dead beat dad
publicly tried to shame him then accused him of of tampering with with a DNA

she’d obviously been shagging other people at the same time so must of known there was other contenders in the race

they way he was so adamant doesn’t give the impression they had unprotected sex

the woman a disgrace

My ex was adamant and our kids were planned we were married and I didn't cheat

The baby looks like him I'm assuming more than the other guy hence the double down I think the public humiliation for her is punishment enough
