To think she owes him a public apology?

Has anyone else been following this story?

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-15024445/Conor-Maynard-paternity-test-results-revealed-Charlotte-Chilton-demanded-second-test-ongoing-row-daughter-Penelope.html

Brief summary: Charlotte, from S2 of The Traitors UK, claimed she had a ONS with Conor Maynard, resulting in the birth of her daughter. She was quick to drag his name through the mud as being a deadbeat dad for not providing her with support, but two paternity tests later, it has been conclusively revealed that he isn't the father.

What an embarrassing situation for her. Surely as a woman if you're shagging multiple men at a similar time, it's basic sense to at least be sure of who the father is before publicly naming them and making accusations!

Perhaps she hoped it was Conor because he was single at the time, and the other potential father/s weren't?!

That poor girl. She's going to see all this online when she grows up. And all because of her mother's stupidity.

Surely Charlotte owes Conor a grovelling public apology at the very least?

Charlotte Chilton breaks her silence over second paternity test result

Charlotte, 32, announced in June last year that Conor, also 32, was the father of her unborn 'miracle' baby.

Harry would be awkward considering who's sister he goes out with 😬.

I ran to Google so quickly

Omggg 😭😭

What is interesting is the other story in the press that also claimed a Traitors co-star slept with her in early 2024 and was a contender (beginning to sound like a reality show in itself, Lace/Mamma Mia). They were not naming him 👀

I don't think it takes a great deal of working out who that could be...I think it's a name that rhymes with 'Saul'? 😉

In any case, it's likely someone who was in a relationship/had a family at the time, because why else wouldn't they be named?

Nope you've got me @CircusofPuffins . No idea what your getting at 🤔🤔.

But as I said doesn't that gorgeous baby have some beautiful red hair. Wonder if she'll be tall when she grows up?!

KeepCalmAndCarryOnScrolling · 23/08/2025 19:49

It cannot be either of those two because of the family links. They work together. No way could that stay intact if your potential future BIL has been screwed over. Plus one had their own brand new baby a month after Charlotte gave birth.
At least two others have family/partners if privacy is the reason.
That's the point I was trying to make. Some other bloke (if the source is credible and let's face it, tabloids can and do make stuff up) is protected but Conor had his name dragged through the mud for 18 months! That feels very wrong indeed
when he has family and a partner as well (she said she admired his grace. I do think he has been very patient under trying circumstances).
Someone under Charlotte's account told a commenter online to have their popcorn ready in August, so must have known what she was doing. It is shoddy behaviour.

Well, she's hardly helped herself, has she? By making this so public - which she really didn't need to do - this could and should have been handled entirely behind closed doors - she's invited public comment.

She spent months and months trashing this man's reputation - what if this has turned out to be a Caroline Flack type situation, and it had tipped him over the edge, for something that wasn't true?

And as has been noted, it's highly likely she cheated on her wife around this time. But sure, I'm the nasty one!

I mean you’ve kind of gone out your way to find like minded, evil little views. She has issues. One might question why he slept with someone in her circumstance??

Either way, women shouldn’t be tearing each other apart. Says a lot about you.

Wierdo.

She's got issues...
Others have got them too...
Fed up with this 'I can behave how I want and cause emotional damage to people, because 'trauma/issues.../poor me...'

But I mean even a failed paternity test would not be enough for libel if she had genuinely believed she was telling the truth.

True but since there was a negative test in March and her claims that he faked it amount to accusing him of a crime (using a false test in court proceedings is perjury), anything said since March is likely to be taken to be slander/libel unless her claims (that he is the father and got a friend to do the test) are true.

Edited to say: And the second test done with her lawyers’ supervision conclusively proves this isn’t the case.

Also, originally claiming he is the father isn’t the defamation - as you say, that could be a mistake. What in my view defames him is the ‘deadbeat dad’ narrative she’s been pushing when she must have known he wasn’t the only candidate for her child’s father. Which means his initial request for a DNA test was sensible and not something that deserves multiple interviews where she was vehemently critical of his supposed parenting.

What libel? He would need evidence she lied. She could just as easily be mistaken.

As far as I understand it, he wouldn’t need to evidence that she lied. He would need to prove that her belief was not reasonably held.

Charlotte must have known that he was not the only potential father (unless she is going to claim that she was drug raped and had no reason to believe she had come into contact with the sperm of another man).

How can her belief that he is 100% the father be objectively reasonable if she knew that there were other potential fathers?

DenizenOfAisleOfShame · 23/08/2025 03:37

Yes. The slut shaming comment was especially stupid.

I’ve no idea why she went public, I have no idea about her as a person or him as a person or any of it. I just don’t think that comment about being embarrassing was even vaguely necessary. You can dislike her and what she’s done without that kind of comment.

It’s incredibly rare, but there have been cases of chimerism causing babies to not match parental DNA (including mothers not matching their children’s DNA). I believe that different types of samples can reveal different DNA in the same person, so multiple samples should be tested (saliva, blood, thyroid). It happens when one embryo “absorbs” a second embryo (its twin) in the womb. The fact she is so positive he’s the father does make me wonder if this is one of those cases.

It wouldn’t match its mother then either

I think you’re reaching with this hypothesis

Well if it happened on greys anatomy (or was it House??) then it must happen all the time 😆
