To be sick of the royal propaganda the UK is fed?

I know most people don’t give a damn about the Windsors any more .

However , in a week when we learn about Philip’s affairs - notably with Sarah Ferguson’s mother ( all covered up of course like the rest of their debachery) we are now expected to swallow the line that William and Kate’s next mansion is ‘paid for by William and Kate themselves ‘

No . That’s not the complete truth .Every penny the Windsors have , they have taken from the people . We now know William and Charles make millions from public services like the NHS schools and charities . We only know about this as a result of dogged journalistic digging . And most of the mainstream media barely covered the scandal .

There are many threads here about how the UK is in steep decline and how people are suffering . Yet the royals are taking in half a billion a year and charging charities on top !

At least admit to us that all their money is stolen from us ?

Oh and if you haven’t heard the queen knew all about Andrew pocketing money via ‘pitch at the palace’

She was told repeatedly by officials . She did nothing
Can we have some facts please ?
The Windsors are a total facade - they are all like Andrew - he’s just the latest fall guy .

It's not that I disagree with you but I hadn't heard any of this. If you're being fed it by social media and you click on it, it will feed you more... So that might be the problem.

Sweetbeansandmochi · 16/08/2025 10:11

The issue is we don’t get an alternative view of what a monarchy can be. It’s always presented as a binary choice - what we have right now or an ‘evil unelected by the people’ republican presidential system.

These are not the only choices.

InterestedDad37 · 16/08/2025 10:13

There are probably massive quibbles about what you've said regarding their money (but ultimately yes, they're being funded by us mere mortals) but I agree we don't need them. They are an anachronism, and we should be a republic ✊
[edited to add. 👇]
(and I pay no heed whatsoever to all the gossip about them - don't give a damn 😀)
(and if they've done anything illegal, lock 'em up)

Ukisgaslit · 16/08/2025 10:13

@PoppingbyThanks for your post

No - this is all fact
Andrew Lownie - a respected writer who spent his own inheritance trying to access hidden facts about Mountbatten ( dear uncle dickie to the Windsors - Mountbatten was a pedophile who abused boys in care homes )
has written a bio of Andrew .
Philips affairs is the least of it

Fed by whom? Your internet algorithms it seems. I haven't seen any of this as I'm not interested in the royal family.

I agree i think it's ridiculous in this day and age we still have a Royal family.

Ukisgaslit · 16/08/2025 10:16

@Sweetbeansandmochi

Oh yes - do not get me started on the ‘president trump’ gibberish
I’m convinced the people who write that know perfectly well that it’s nonsense - they just hope others will believe it
A figurehead president is all that’s needed
A Windsor could do it - but no more endless money tap and make them pay their taxes !

Did I imagine the existence of a Royal board?

MadameCholetsDirtySecret · 16/08/2025 10:17

Marx said ‘religion was the opiate of the masses’. Well religion is in decline so something has to fill the void. The royals and celebrity culture have done that quite nicely. Admittedly the royals have always been an opiate’ but more and more so now.

The royals in their ivory towers, bowed and scraped to, paid a fortune and privately owning so much, is disgraceful. Whilst I’m sure some individuals in the RF are nice people, the institution is wrong.

The ridiculousness of a hereditary HOS is beyond my comprehension. And yes, we might get a president Johnson or Stamer, but we can also vote them out. Not so much with the Windsors.

That is a big question that I can’t fully answer here
Its subtle . My example above for instance ‘ W and K ‘ are paying for it . That’s spin. Yes they will write the cheque - but the money came from us
Look at the BBC after queens death - t
yes they over played their hand - but the dystopian images of Elizabeth lining the streets etc??
The Windsors are corrupt
It’s all covered up

The BBC was dreadful after The,Queen died
They made the British public out to be all simpering fools that were devastated by her loss.

That’s royal PR central !

And I strongly believe the money taken from us by the Windsors affects every single one of us - cuts to schools hospitals services for the disabled - yet the Windsors take more and more each year

Half a billion a year and growing

Shoehorn them into a royal thread?

Redshoeblueshoe · 16/08/2025 10:27

I don't know how you didn't know about Phillip's affairs and Mountbatten. It was hardly a secret. My DM knew and she died 26 years ago.

Dangermoo · 16/08/2025 10:28

Oh, let me guess - Megsit 🤢 means Haz and Megs are free of royal criticism.

The sycophancy is so frustrating. The RF use the press to write puff pieces which are swallowed by a large proportion of the public. Since QEII has died, the sense of duty that the RF have branded themselves on seems to be fading, and William and Kate in particular like to put out the idea that they are a normal family, just like us. Eg announcing that they won't have live in staff - there will be chefs, cleaners, nannies etc living a stone's throw away, probably in very basic accommodation.

Violetmouse · 16/08/2025 10:34

I am always rather frustrated by how the Royal Family count as working and are praised enthusiastically for turning up to events the rest of us would love to have the chance to attend - eg Wimbledon, football finals etc. I wish I could do that and count it as a days work.

AnnaMagnani · 16/08/2025 10:34

The spin on the piece about W&K moving house has really annoyed me.

They are paying for it themselves - yes, out of our money

They won't have live in staff - no, they'll just live 5 minutes walk away, so much more relatable

It's their forever home - absolute bollocks, he's going to be King and live in a palace. Actually several palaces.
