To be sick of the royal propaganda the UK is fed?

I know most people don’t give a damn about the Windsors any more .

However , in a week when we learn about Philip’s affairs - notably with Sarah Ferguson’s mother ( all covered up of course like the rest of their debachery) we are now expected to swallow the line that William and Kate’s next mansion is ‘paid for by William and Kate themselves ‘

No . That’s not the complete truth .Every penny the Windsors have , they have taken from the people . We now know William and Charles make millions from public services like the NHS schools and charities . We only know about this as a result of dogged journalistic digging . And most of the mainstream media barely covered the scandal .

There are many threads here about how the UK is in steep decline and how people are suffering . Yet the royals are taking in half a billion a year and charging charities on top !

At least admit to us that all their money is stolen from us ?

Oh and if you haven’t heard the queen knew all about Andrew pocketing money via ‘pitch at the palace’

She was told repeatedly by officials . She did nothing
Can we have some facts please ?
The Windsors are a total facade - they are all like Andrew - he’s just the latest fall guy .

The spin on the piece about W&K moving house has really annoyed me.

They are paying for it themselves - yes, out of our money

They won't have live in staff - no, they'll just live 5 minutes walk away, so much more relatable

It's their forever home - absolute bollocks, he's going to be King and live in a palace. Actually several palaces.

Yep and during the pandemic
Trying to relate to the rest of thst they too were suffered, with home schooling etc
Yes but it must of have been a lot easier with a team of nannies ,private tutors swimming pools ,tennis courts etc
Which most of us can only dream of.

TeenLifeMum · 16/08/2025 10:38

The royals do pay tax - that changed under Queen Elizabeth. I’m not fussed about the royal family but I am unconvinced a president would cost less.

I am always rather frustrated by how the Royal Family count as working and are praised enthusiastically for turning up to events the rest of us would love to have the chance to attend - eg Wimbledon, football finals etc. I wish I could do that and count it as a days work.

William and Kate are especially bad for this.

LifeOfAShowGirl · 16/08/2025 10:40

I’m sick to the back teeth of it. On the news this morning it’s how the king and queen were brought to tears at the VJ events yesterday.

I’m sorry but it’s ridiculous. It’s high time we did away with the monarchy.

Theunamedcat · 16/08/2025 10:40

That's fine give them back the crown estate so they can earn their own money then let them live in peace right? Or do you want to keep the crown estate?

Technically you paid for my retired neighbours hip last year do you want that back too?

I've said it before they have to say they have no live in staff or the speculation will start up about live in staff again and I would rather have W&K than any of the others put together

The grand total of their work this year will be a football final and a tennis final, plus some other events that all conveniently centre around their hobbies! I bet William will count his trips to Villa park as “work” this season!

Serpentstooth · 16/08/2025 10:42

I was a republican. Look what that can give you, the Greatest Grifting President in the History of Grifting President's, Bigly Trump. If my taxes are going to subsidise anyone, it may as well be the royals. At least we know what to expect from them and they have no real political power. I'm sticking with them.

They've worked out how to use the kids as an excuse - they can't work during term time because they're hands-on parents and need to do the school run etc, and they can't work during their children's long holidays because they want to spend time as a family. Except of course when it's a sporting event, as you say!

Astrak · 16/08/2025 10:42

If the anti-Royalists bothered to do any research on the British Royal Family, they would learn that they bring in approximately £52million pounds per annum in tourism and related services and cost each British tax payer approximately 77p per person per year.

Trump might be dreadful but he was voted in by the American people .

Especially later on in the year when poor George gets dragged to the football in a suit! I don’t know how more people don’t see through it.

Lampzade · 16/08/2025 10:44

The Royal family has been in free fall since the Queen died.
I think members of the public were prepared to put up with these posh welfare recipients when the Queen was alive , but now we don’t see the benefits of the Royal Family .
Are they even cutting ribbons these days ?
All this nonsense about William and Kate ‘ buying ‘ their own house to make them
appear more relatable is just laughable

Timeforabitofpeace · 16/08/2025 10:44

There was a programme last year on tv about the money made from tons of public spaces-schools, the Mersey ferry, god knows how many myriad other places. The news media picked up the story afterwards. It was mind blowing. I don’t care whether they exist or not but we should definitely stop funding them-anything at all. In any case, we can’t afford it, apparently, so it’s a terrible waste of money.

TheOtherAgentJohnson · 16/08/2025 10:45

Are Phillip's affairs supposed to be breaking news or something? They've been known about for decades.

I've never understood why people expect the Royals to exemplify family values and fidelity. Having a mistress has been (male) Royal prerogative since the paleolithic.

I don’t care. I really don’t. I’m fed up of these privileged people doing unspeakable things (Andrew, anyone?!) while being subsidised and claiming that their “job” is to go to the football and tennis.

What will they use as an excuse when Louis attends St Andrews?

They might well have the top job at that point ,Charles is pushing 80.

AnnaMagnani · 16/08/2025 10:48

Royals bring in £52 million? Honestly that's tiny.

Go to Versailles, or Neuschwanstein or Schonbrunn - hordes of tourists and without the effort of having to have a royal family.

Charles did not pay inheritance tax on his mother’s estate (as I understand it.) And this is the tip of the iceberg. We will also never be allowed to know how much their security costs, although there are eye watering estimates available.

Hilarious. I'm old enough to remember when Princess Anne and Mark Philips were interviewed about newly wed bliss "Well, we're just like any other young couple with a mortgage". The nation laughed as one.

I’ve seen who we get to vote for and none of them impress me for prime minister so where we are finding the altruistic leader is beyond me. The problem with someone putting themselves forward as president is they have to have an ego on them. They’re never the people you’d want as president.

I'm.not impressed by them.either
But my point is they are voted in by the British public and we do have means get rid of them unlike the Royal family.
