To be sick of the royal propaganda the UK is fed?

I know most people don’t give a damn about the Windsors any more .

However , in a week when we learn about Philip’s affairs - notably with Sarah Ferguson’s mother ( all covered up of course like the rest of their debachery) we are now expected to swallow the line that William and Kate’s next mansion is ‘paid for by William and Kate themselves ‘

No . That’s not the complete truth .Every penny the Windsors have , they have taken from the people . We now know William and Charles make millions from public services like the NHS schools and charities . We only know about this as a result of dogged journalistic digging . And most of the mainstream media barely covered the scandal .

There are many threads here about how the UK is in steep decline and how people are suffering . Yet the royals are taking in half a billion a year and charging charities on top !

At least admit to us that all their money is stolen from us ?

Oh and if you haven’t heard the queen knew all about Andrew pocketing money via ‘pitch at the palace’

She was told repeatedly by officials . She did nothing
Can we have some facts please ?
The Windsors are a total facade - they are all like Andrew - he’s just the latest fall guy .

They have HTH.

Yes the only possible alternative to a hereditary royal family that costs billions is Donald Trump. And British people are stupid anyway and would vote for a pig in a wig if it got enough likes on TikTok to be a head of state. Ffs.

My personal distaste for royalty is because it provides the window dressing for the rest of the aristocracy in this country bleeding us dry. Inheritance tax is for working class people who managed to buy a house, not for Lord Snootyfuck who inherits billions from the family estate. And the worst of it is we’re expected to show these people respect and deference if we have the misfortune to come into contact with them.

On a week where learn about Philip affair? Which Philip? Where are you getting information? Instagram?

Most royal families, all over the world, became royal through land ownership through power. And in current times, they have negotiated a kind of deal with governments to continue to enjoy their lifestyle. It’s not fair but this is the way it is and not worth wasting energy.

A well respected historian and author has written a new biography of Andrew .
That’s where we found out about prince Philip’s affair with Sarah fergusons mother

There is great deal more in the book about Andrew’s corruption and the fact that the queen knew and did nothing

What a load of made up nonsense you have been reading @Ukisgaslit . You can't seriously believe all this? Confused

As for your claim that most people don't care about The Windsors anymore. Speak for yourself. Many people are Royalists, and the Royal Family is here to stay. No matter how much it may irk you. Wink

Actually sorry I just realised you meant line of succession, and he has obviously not Been cut
Becsuse if you beleive in the present system than you get whst your given anyway this thread isn't about Garry aka as Harry and it's tedious when posters keep trying to make it about him.

PaddlingSwan · 16/08/2025 11:38

If you are basing your comments on the book that came out on 14th, there is at least one very glaring inaccuracy in it, which could easily have been checked. Most of it consists of regurgitation and virtually all sums of money mentioned are in $, so my assumption is that it is aimed at the US market.
It is not even very well written.
I would believe more of the twaddle if the so-called facts could be verified, rather than statements making allegations and then saying that the means of verification had been "destroyed".

If the anti-Royalists bothered to do any research on the British Royal Family, they would learn that they bring in approximately £52million pounds per annum in tourism and related services and cost each British tax payer approximately 77p per person per year.

They don't like to hear this though. And will deny it profusely. But yeah, the Royals do bring in quite a lot more revenue than they cost.

I’ll admit it. I still don’t care. I find the entire thing abhorrent. Bring the crown estate into public ownership and open them as museums, like in France. I’m sick to death of these people pretending that going off to Wimbledon is work.

poetryandwine · 16/08/2025 11:43

‘Not an easy time’ was an understatement.

I had a look at his official activities before commenting here. They are sparse to put it mildly.

As patron of UK football he didn’t even show up for the Lionesses, FGS. He and Kate were prominently absent from VJ Day 80th Anniversary celebrations yesterday. These are just two instances but one can go on and on and on.

Yes I found it massively distasteful that he will pick and choose which lioness games to go to (and always taking Charlotte!), but he’s a frequent guest at Villa park with George. The final where he didn’t want to fly out to Australia and cited “environmental reasons” was a real eye opener.

Thar the royals bring in more than they cost is nonsense and was debunked years ago

Aside from that they are corrupt and are protected from the consequences of their own actions - that is wrong and is a cancer on our society

Really ironic. I wasn’t a huge fan when the queen was around (sorry, sorry!) but now she’s gone I am against them entirely.

Untailored · 16/08/2025 11:53

This country will never become a republic so no point in gnashing your teeth over the Royals.

We pay for them to live in palaces, sure, but most of them seem to lead unhappy lives so it’s fair trade.

You’ve fallen for the propaganda

There is always a fall guy . A distraction .

They cover up for the incumbent
But that was easier to do years ago

Edited

Good job you're here to enlighten me then. 🙄

I used to think this too. But when William was able to change things so that his finances could be even more shrouded in secrecy I did wonder whether he wasn’t seeing the way the wind was blowing and start planning for his life (possibly more likely his children’s) in a Republic.

I mean, his commitment to the job is widely derided, and rightly so.

Ok then, what about Edward VIII?

Likely to have rolled out the red carpet for Hitler if he’d been able to carry on.

The fact is we don't know what would have happened. We can all speculate and say what we think might have happened, but that's just opinions, not facts.

poetryandwine · 16/08/2025 12:04

It might be unfair to both the Waleses to use statistics from 2024 as Kate’s surgery, from which her cancer was detected, was thought to be in late Dec 2023.

According to Town and Country Magazine, which is generally royal-friendly, here is a count of royal engagements from 2023 during the whole of which William was the Prince of Wales.

Princess Anne: 212
King Charles: 197
Prince Edward: 141
Sophie, Countess of Wessex: 114
Duke of Gloucester: 113
Prince William: 110
Queen Camilla: 101
Princess of Wales: 92

Their children were all in school by 2023 to say nothing of the fact that they have a full time nanny, or should.

QC doesn’t look great either but at least she is an OAP.

I’d agree with the elderly thing if their “work” wasn’t just dressing up nice, shaking some hands and saying hello.
