I was in a museum today and my daughter (15) left me to go to the loo. She then waved me over.. she said to me.. I’d rather not use the gender neutral loo. I said that’s fine and sent her down a level to the ladies. A woman the approached me and preceded to tell me off for not encouraging my daughter to use the GN loo. How she has a trans child and how are they ever going to feel accepted with people like me around. I’m ND and I always second guess myself 10000 times a day. I wasn’t in the wrong was I?? I just said ok go and use the other separate loo. Surely my child can pee wherever she feels comfortable??!! I hate conflict so I just said ok and walked off!

I would never, ever tell anyone to use a mixed sex loo because I wouldn't use one myself. All loos should be single sex. The most woman should mind her own business.

You clearly have not understood my post. I did not generalise about men. I spoke about cleaning loos.

Plus if toilet is dirty is the facilities fault they should be cleaned regularly.

Yes. And that is what I was doing. But guess which loo needed cleaning more regularly?

Personally I would have said if you pee through a penis you belong in the mens if not you belong in the ladies. No such thing as neutral. It's always women made to feel uncomfortable and put at risk.

I can't be bothered to go through all of them, show me the one who was hid in gender neutral toilets. And these instances are basically crimes, it happens rarely and you can't use it in your argument with gender neutral toilets. If they would be they would be anywhere but especially ladies. It doesn't make any sense. Some people threw rocks from a bridge the parkway causing vehicle to crash. I still use the fricking road. Again, pointless argument.

Oh, and I'm another one guessing the Science Museum, their 'gender neutral' - i.e. mixed sex - loos were in a filthy state when I last visited and were full of grown men, meaning I couldn't let my 10 year old DD in by herself, robbing her of an opportunity to test out a little independence.

But then, she's only female, so who gives a shit, right. Not when there are males to pander to.

Just to be clear - it sounds as if you are describing an open plan toilet with cubicles (with door gaps) and a communal sink area. If you are, then it's absolutely illegal to have this setup as unisex.

Unisex loos have to be fully self contained with floor to ceiling doors BY LAW.

Of course this setup has it's own issues and single sex loos are always safer.

Either way, it's really nobody's business which loo your DD - or indeed anyone - chooses to use.

There is no such thing as gender neuteral no matter how many people want to pretend there is. Just because they want to believe that people are not male or female thats their choice, nobody should be forced to play along with their madness

I'd have asked her what she meant, and again and again, so she'd have had to repeat the lie to my shocked face as I watched and counted the body language signs that she was lying.

Gosh every thread I’ve read recently about women’s experiences and concerns has had man-panderers rushing on to Not-My-Nigel, and getting all upset on behalf of the poor men.

We can all smell the difference between men’s and women’s loos. Of course they wee everywhere! We all know that! No need to try to convince us that men are badly done to by someone stating facts.
