To think that white British/ American etcmen are just as much a threat to women as migrants?

malificent7 · 08/08/2025 12:47

I am not excusing grooming, paedophile sex rings and unmonitored immigration at all but I hate all these protests.
I know that my white male ex teacher is a sex offender. Not to mention the Epstein scandal.
Aibu to think that ALL men are a danger to women...not just men of different ethnicities/ religions etc?

Why would people want to flee completely democratic countries?

I said ‘anything less than’.

What kind of system would that be?

Safe and legal routes like we manage with Ukraine and Hong Kong?

I’d start with the problem I want to address. I was struck by an awful story from Sudan where a mother told her daughters to run so she could suffer what the violent men were wanting to do instead.

If there are say 30k people given refuge then I’d design a system that identifies that woman and her DDs and give them refuge here.

What we have now isn’t working, not for anyone really bar the huge profit makers, and industry that surrounds it all.

So you are in favour of stopping all immigration? From all countries?

No.

Yes, sadly human trafficking is very lucrative business model.

International co-operation is needed and the UK needs to offer/increase schemes that stops the small boat crossing.

White European men can be sexist nasty pricks, obviously. But male immigrants from muslim countries were raised in strict cultures where women cover up and unrelated males and females are largely segregated. When they visit Europe, some young men from these traditional patriarchal cultures treat white European women as sex objects, leering ogling etc. Of course white European men do this too but they'd do it to any girl regardless, whereas the men OP is talking about tend to only to this with white girls or girls wearing western clothes.

Yesterday I say a young woman at the bus stop who wore tight shorts and a low cut top and a car with four men of Middle Eastern appearance drove past, they all stuck their heads out overtly leering at the girl, pretty disgusting and intimidating.

Basically, there is a racist element to it in that those men from Middle Eastern and North African cultures who do leer or worse do it mostly with western looking women, either white or wearing western clothes.

White men who leer don't tend to differentiate in the same way as they are sexist pigs towards women from any culture or ethnicity. Unfortunately white European girls and women are seen by some from traditional middle eastern and North African backgrounds as 'easy' and asking for it so they approach them in a sexually predatory way.

Timeforabitofpeace · 10/08/2025 11:15

@Lordnelsonsumbrella Cars of white men also do exactly that. Ask any female uni student.

Lordnelsonsumbrella · 10/08/2025 11:17

However, when the situation is reversed, and white European males travel to Asian or African countries, well we all know what tends to happen all too often. They too leer and oggle or worse, so there is racist element to it too when males are outside of their cultural surroundings they seem to act in a more predatory way less inhibited by cultural norms and expectations.

I said this in my post but they'd do the to any girl, no matter what ethnicity or culture. It's male othering.

I don’t think you’d ever increase it enough to lower the crossings because however many you set up more would use international law to do so.

Going back to pp I’d say there’s easily 30k women and girls who are experiencing severe harm or potentially worse from violent men.

It shouldn’t be beyond us to change the system so each time refuge is given it’s for this, not for someone who has committed the crimes we have seen.

TheAmusedQuail · 10/08/2025 11:27

JamesMacGill · 10/08/2025 10:41

Would that be because most men here are white?

Absolutely.

Ok, let's say we all agree that all men are essentially the same but they become more predatory and more dangerous when they leave their home country.

If we agree on that, it must also be true that allowing foreign men to come to the UK endangers women and children in the UK.

Do they? The men in my life don’t.

I wasn't the one arguing that they do, i said "let's say we agree..." and then took that idea to its logical conclusion

To answer your question .
I think women in the UK are at a higher risk of violence from men who come from countries where there are higher rates of violence against women.
We have a huge problem in the Uk and being kind and inclusive won’t solve it.

This.

I don't think any government will be able to stop irregular or illegal immigration, decreasing the boat crossings by humanitarian means would be a step in the right direction.

I am not sure I understand what kind of system you would like. One that only admits women and children?

Shouldn’t think so. Some just people don’t make unpleasant assumptions about everyone based on the colour of their skin.

So equally you’re not a sexist, and won’t make sweeping judgements about ‘men’?

If it’s about skin colour why are we not discussing immigration from Nigeria, the Philippines, or India?

InsectsMatter · 10/08/2025 12:36

I said all this ‘training’ was Orwellian (and probably increases racism anyway) and my comment was removed - which in itself is very Orwellian.

We can but it’ll take a big change. Which going by public sentiment may happen anyway.

Yes if we’re offering say 30k places I’d choose women and children at risk from violence or death first. I’d give them refuge as a priority.

I can see the system collapsing though as voters put pressure on, not just here.
