I couldn’t sleep last night, worrying about a Reform government

1000 replies

Cluborange666 · 01/08/2025 09:15

I am really worried. I think they’ll wreck the economy. I’ve got a few years left to pay off my mortgage from my job that deals with immigrants. I don’t want our pensions to tank. I don’t want my sons’ lives to be messed around. I worry about more racism, the more ‘voice’ that Reform get. I live in a very multicultural city and non-white people tell me that they are experiencing more overt racism. It makes me feel very insecure about the future.

wish Labour would do more to show that they are on the side of ordinary people as I think that’s what is driving this (I’m a Labour voter). I don’t think the creation of Your Party will help, just give Reform more advantages.

Sigh. Happy to be told I’m unreasonable as I think the future looks bleak.

Eh, you have added 2 and 2 and made 7 there, wtf are you on about. (That's rhetorical by the way, hence the full stop)

Sorry, do you mean the full stop after the question? I’m already confused.

Anyway I was referring to the below, maybe I do have the wrong end of the stick. Were you saying private school parents are the root of the extreme right? What are you saying?

Private school parents and everyone knows the roots of the extreme right

Edited

It doesn't read as "are" though does it? As you have literally quoted me, you can see that I have written, "and" so what is your question exactly?

This is why I stated that my last post was rhetorical as you are not going to succeed in twisting my posts and frankly all this faux misunderstanding is just tedious.

Hmm, ok.

My question is what do you mean by:

However, is a classis Reform tactic as it deflects from their lack of policies, lack of values, lack of anything frankly. They are completely barren when it comes to having any political convictions.

I don’t know about twisting them we can barely understand them.

Is reading a number of threads stalking? I don't think so, Dear. However quoting someone by name and laughing at them on another thread would appear to be getting into that territory.

Careful. The next accusation will be of obsession.

Wouldn’t worry too much advance UK is their competition now and Tommy Robinson has joined. They can fight it out between themselves

We have had this conversation before. Your posts (some of them) make no sense at all. Not just to me - other posters have also commented saying the same. It might be better not to post so prolifically as you are showing yourself up.

Goldenbear has no idea what she means.

yellowspanner · 02/08/2025 19:17

I am an intelligent well educated woman . I will be voting Reform. I believe they will stop the boats, lower my taxes and partially privatise the NHS and remove VAT from private school fees.
All policies I agree with

NaicePeachJoker · 02/08/2025 19:05

Hmm, ok.

My question is what do you mean by:

‘Private school parents and everyone knows the roots of the extreme right’

As you well know, if you are reading the same thread as me, the Izzy poster is accusing me of prejudice and referencing my posts all over Mumsnet, I was responding to them directly as they had brought it up so on the threads about private schools, they are twisting the meaning of the word prejudice to suit their political ends, like they are on here, everyone knows that marginalised groups who experience prejudice are not private school parents.

Equally, the claim that I am a 'bigot' for being a Labour voter (who I actually didn't vote for as it would be wasted in my constituency) or for calling out Reform for being populist and extreme right, is twisting the meaning of the bigot label as again it is a bit rich to claim this when you support a party whose roots are based upon extreme right wing politics!

You have not so cleverly quoted that line without the preceding explanation, which gave it some context so well done you but you failed. This is what you should have quoted,

"Why are you such a victim, you are exploiting the meaning of prejudice and associating it with groups of people who have never been marginalised before ever as they are the lucky ones i.e. Private school parents and everyone knows the roots of the extreme right."

Lots of Labour constituencies have their bins emptied.

Labour HQ’s election slogan for 2029 😄

I will post what I like, thank you for your concern though.

More like Reform's, "we managed to get some bins emptied and filled some pot holes, now trust us with the economy". 🙄

Is this a joke? I mean private school parents have never really been considered a marginalised group due to the fact that they are wealthy.

Yes we have - it was only a few pages back when you accused me of not being literate because I couldn’t understand one of your many scatty (putting it politely) posts. Other posters then said they agreed with me. Nobody said no, Goldenbear’s post makes perfect sense - I wonder why. Hardly a stalking issue I would say for me to recall what happened an hour ago?
You continue to post garbage relentlessly (no life?) and I am not engaging any more with it. Can only hope that you are one of these posters on MN that never stop for a few days and then completely disappear.

No its not a joke, I’m just trying to find out what did you mean specifically by;

‘Private school parents and everyone knows the roots of the extreme right’

What is the connection to the ‘roots of the extreme right’?

I have been told this will result in more support for Reform. It is politically illiterate to not understand that according to @twistyizzy

You have posted quite a bit on here - no life?

Of course they agreed with you as these threads are swamped (probably started by Reform HQ) with posts from the same posters in support of Reform. I don't care what they think as I've heard it all before but I'm posting because this is really serious so if anybody is reading this thread and are tempted by Reform, they should really look into that decision and take the responsibility to vote in such a party seriously.

I wouldn’t worry about Reform wrecking the economy. Given the speed that Labour are wrecking it there won’t be much left of it anyway.

Keir starmer, what a let down. But really were the Tories any better.Blaming everything on Labour, the conservatives were in government for last 14 years, they did a fair amount of damage.
Some people have got very short memories.
