I couldn’t sleep last night, worrying about a Reform government

Cluborange666 · 01/08/2025 09:15

I am really worried. I think they’ll wreck the economy. I’ve got a few years left to pay off my mortgage from my job that deals with immigrants. I don’t want our pensions to tank. I don’t want my sons’ lives to be messed around. I worry about more racism, the more ‘voice’ that Reform get. I live in a very multicultural city and non-white people tell me that they are experiencing more overt racism. It makes me feel very insecure about the future.

wish Labour would do more to show that they are on the side of ordinary people as I think that’s what is driving this (I’m a Labour voter). I don’t think the creation of Your Party will help, just give Reform more advantages.

Sigh. Happy to be told I’m unreasonable as I think the future looks bleak.

I was talking about the Welsh elections not UK. In Wales Reform is not on course to win a majority.

Ah ok, yes I’m not clued up on that so couldn’t comment.

Yes stalking, referencing me on other threads and actually making assertions that are wrong.

I don't realise any such thing. Look into who you are committed to voting for, it is your civic duty. To be fair you have a bit of time before the next election to research this.

Did you mean to be so patronising?
Of course you did

twistyizzy · 02/08/2025 18:18

Goldenbear · 02/08/2025 17:02

Out of curiosity what leads you to believe that I am obsessed with you. You mentioned on this thread something about Bonds and I asked you if you were a Bond Broker on this thread. You posted something like wouldn't I like to know. I don't actually think you are a Bond Broker it was sarcasm I don't think remembering what a poster's position is on one thread makes you a stalker. Again, sorry if that damages your ego..

" I don't think remembering what a poster's position is on one thread makes you a stalker" Yet you accuse me of doing exactly this!!
At least be consistent in talking bollocks

By 2029 the Tories will have a new leader, Reform run councils will have failed such that it is ammunition against them, and via tactical voting the Lib Dems will keep most of their seats.

I don't see anywhere near a Reform majority, however much this Labour government is hated.

The Reform run council we have is doing a great job. First thing they did was fill in the worst of the potholes and also refuse to pay policing for a Pride march saying it Pride wanted to march they could pay for policing. We get our bins emptied too unlike neighbouring bankrupt Birmingham who are Labour run.

Isobarre · 02/08/2025 18:25

@twistyizzy No, you are naming the poster and ridiculing their posts on other threads. That’s taking it to a different level altogether.

No, your references to my name on the private school threads, are what leads me to refer to it as stalking. Plus, you have completely made something up about my contribution on those threads to add to your narrative about me that I'm a "bigot". Which is literally a joke considering the party you are going to be voting for in the next election.

I am not ridiculing them, I'm saying they have exhibited bigoted behaviour towards me and others on other threads. It's a pattern of behaviour.
Maybe they shouldn't have claimed to be able to identity a Reform voter by sight.

Nobody said NF was a paedophile, just that he is an enabler if he opposes the bill that intends to keep kids safe from such content on the basis that it undermines free speech, which is the reason he gave for opposing it.

I mean, given that he closely aligns himself with the likes of Trump, he clearly has no problem with paedos and rapists, even if he says the opposite publicly and acts as if he gives a shit about women and girl’s safety.

Like I said above, I’m not sure what his agenda is, but it’s probably closer to wanting to influence children while they are most impressionable. I’m not surprised he got called out for opposing for the reason he gave, though!

It's walking very close to the line. I have no issue with people arguing how to balance differernt important principles, but implying others are ok with endangering children is manipulative and inappropriate without some damn good evidence.

Your idea that anyone who is in some way politically aligned with or politically friendly to Trump is ok with sex crimes is simply inaccurate. People work with those around them in politics, there really isn't much other choice. The president of the US is an important influential person, and his personal life doesn't come into it. Much as with Bill Clinton. People are often politically aligned with people they dissaprove of personally, especially outside of purist lefty circles.

Lots of Labour constituencies have their bins emptied.

He hasn’t just ‘’worked with him’’ though, he’s spent more time in the US licking his ring piece than he has in his own constituency. He actively and publicly endorses him, demands that gets to speak in the HoC via video link, and gets his ideology from the Trump playbook.

Lots of Labour constituencies have their bins emptied.

But not Birmingham who had to pay increases of council tax of 10 percent.

My goodness perhaps if you are that precious about having your views opposed you shouldn't post on a public forum that has contrary views. Why are you such a victim, you are exploiting the meaning of prejudice and associating it with groups of people who have never been marginalised before ever as they are the lucky ones i.e. Private school parents and everyone knows the roots of the extreme right. Calling me a 'bigot' for highlighting the problems with populism, after all they not run of the mill Tories, is not bigotry!

I literally went to private school until I was secondary age, as you will know from those threads, that's why I was calling out your ludicrous view of what being poor is, it is definitely not paying for your education!

I completely agree. I thought accusing Starmer of refusing to prosecute grooming gangs whilst head of the CPP, was disgusting.

I am calling you a bigot for your comments about being able to spot a Reform voter by sight and your prejudiced views. You are simply twisting the truth now.

I'm logging off and won't be engaging any more. Yes you have displayed bigoted behaviour, no you won't ever own it. Nothing more to say, ever.

You have left off my point about spotting a Reform voter when they speak, I think "migration, migration, migration etc. " basically an unhealthy obsession with and at the expense of concentrating on their own life, is a bit of tell tale sign. I am visiting a parent ATM many hours away from where I live and some of the neighbours speak like this and worse and they state they will be voting for Reform so I don't think I'm that wrong on this. Of course, people are free to vote for who they like but they should see it as an informed decision not a reactionary one.

Sorry, do you mean the full stop after the question? I’m already confused.

Anyway I was referring to the below, maybe I do have the wrong end of the stick. Were you saying private school parents are the root of the extreme right? What are you saying?

Private school parents and everyone knows the roots of the extreme right

Is reading a number of threads stalking? I don't think so, Dear. However quoting someone by name and laughing at them on another thread would appear to be getting into that territory.
