There are so many wonderful examples of these, please share your favourites. Bonus points for links.

I remember one when OP was annoyed if the cost of children's birthday gifts weren't higher than the cost of hosting the party per child.

And the classic from a few weeks ago when OP thought it was ok to block the shared driveway and thought their neighbour who lived at the end was the unreasonable one.

I bet there are better ones out there though...

It wasn't unreasonable OP as such. Just of the red-raw-mortifying-need-to-change-your-name-go-into-witness-protection-pretend-you-have-died-I see-a-white-light-take-me-now-Lord variety.

One poster recounted a tale of how (and I can't even remember if this happened to her directly or a 'friend'), she had been stalking their ex on FB of an evening. They were not FB friends. She cllicks on the ex's profile and ex had a profile photo of himself, his now wife and their new baby. Lovely.

OP exits the page. Unbeknownst to her, she has somehow managed to tag herself as the baby in the ex's profile photo. And did not discover this for some time.

Another poster recounted a story of being at work and eves-dropping in on her work crush chatting to someone else about his recent move, mentioning the address of his new home. Our self-confessed creepy wee stalker valiant OP decides to do some information gathering by typing his new address into her phone's Google maps system to check the distance from her house to his. Then her phone's voice recognition system kicks in and starts to shout out the directions. He hears, and turns to look at her, perplexed.

lol regarding the baby photo 😂😂😂😂

This poster has started a number of strange posts over the last week or so, either they are excellent at trolling or have serious mental health issues

I just realised which poster this is.
Let's just say I'm not surprised there's drama!

P.S. your username always makes me laugh @Idontjetwashthefucker 🤣🔫

This sounds amazing! Can you share the link?

I’ll see if I can, Famallama, but I’m old and not good with this kind of thing! 😳I can’t remember the title of the post but I do remember that it didn’t mention the horse - it was rather non-specific like ‘ Is my friend being mean?’, but I’ll try!

NoSoapJustUseShowerGel · 31/07/2025 07:09

A poster who expected her friend to know that she should use shower gel to wash her hands without explicitly saying so. Poster’s friend asked where the soap was, op kept saying “on the side of the bath” but never mentioned she actually meant the shower gel.
What really got me was that the op just couldn’t accept that the majority voted that she was unreasonable and kept arguing that you could wash your hands with shower gel. Despite everyone agreeing that it was indeed possible but she needed to actually let her friend know that she meant the shower gel, because her friend wouldn’t know that that’s what she meant. Even changed my username.

Yep this is batshit. The OP was furious that her husband's friend wanted £30 in costs to change her oil and is now claiming that her writing a promise of money on a piece of paper is exactly the same as a bank note 🤣

It turns up every now and again 😂 but the stereotypical format is:

  • OP (probably breastfeeding so ravenous) goes to IL with her DH and baby
  • IL serve dinner and dish up for everyone
  • IL gives OP tiny tiny portion size of meal, but gives DH a HUGE portion aka the "penis portion" because he is a MAN so needs more food
  • OP annoyed and hangry, posts on mumsnet with or without making a trip to McD on the way home from IL 😂

Omg I thought it was just me! I would starve at IL's because I would get a tiny shaving of chicken and a few vegetables whereas he would get a full plate.

What the fuck????
I think I'll go buy myself a 5-bed detached house with a promissory note I'll write in the back of the gas bill!

I’m sorry, Famallama, I can’t find it. The problem is that from what I remember, the title was very vague - just something about her friend being mean or tight. I remember being surprised at the contents of the OP - it wasn’t what I expected from the title!

I wanted to mention this one!

She got proper cross with us all saying you can't just takeover the alley and extend your kitchen into it!

She had also put gates on each end and padlocked so neighbour couldn't access the alley, then tried to say she could claim possession as neighbour wasn't using it!

Proper entitled Batshittery - tried to justify herself by saying neighbour had much nicer car FFS.

Wish I could find it to link I have tried......

If I were the neighbour, I would have left some wooden skittles at the end of it and insisted that, yes, I do regularly use the alley!

Yabberwok · 31/07/2025 22:10

Just remembered the one where the woman was dating a guy and got upset that they were away and he invited her to breakfast as she never eats breakfast. Then it turns out she is fixated on drinking cider vinegar before meals, eats very little and is very strict on what she does eat.
Thing being she couldn't accept that she could just have had a cup of coffee whilst he ate.
