OK, so they go to Downing Street to celebrate their win with the high and mighty of the land ... But who the f**k thought that combination of baggy trousers, grey, black, long shorts, low heeled shoes, a bit of white here and there was The Look?

Are they trying make them look like men because women's football shouldn't be allowed? Did any of them have the opportunity to say "actually, those big, baggy trousers don't suit me"? Because they don't for a lot of them...

I gave seen the photo, and I thought they looked smart and comfortable, without being gussied up. The alternative (Red, white and blue? High heels? Tight trouser suits?) could potentially have been very "1980s cabin crew", which is definitely not a good look.

AFrolicOfMyOwn · 28/07/2025 22:28

I liked their outfits. They looked relaxed but well turned out - and although there was a colour scheme I had the impression all, or at least most of them, were wearing the things they were happiest with. (Hadn’t known about M&S sponsorship but that makes sense.)

And navy trousers would have turned them into cabin crew. At least they looked contemporary.

They are representing the country. They should look smart. Tailored navy trousers or tailored shorts would look better than baggy beige.

They’re dressing appropriately and fashionably for their age group - most of them are in their 20s.

News flash - different age groups dress differently.

They look fab!

SouthernNights59 · 28/07/2025 22:33

Good grief! I was wondering what on earth they were wearing so had a look. They look great, happy and comfortable.

In 2010…

I made much the same comment about the men’s team’s outfits when they returned home from the last World Cup, after winning nothing, again.

How are they representing their country here - they are in their country being celebrated for their win?

Anyway they look fine - feels like their are many old fashioned people here who want them decked out like flight attendants.

SparklyGlitterballs · 28/07/2025 22:35

I thought they looked great. They want to be admired for their athletic achievement, not for what they look like. I'm glad they weren't put in anything that showed off their legs/boobs/bums etc as they're so much more than that.

ilovesooty · 28/07/2025 22:36

I really couldn't care less what they wear but having seen it they look OK to me. Their achievement is more important than what they're wearing.

Exactly! UK branded cabin crew would be awful.

My DD would wear those trousers. Not from M&S though Grin

OtherS · 28/07/2025 22:39

Not my taste, they do look like men's suits. I get why it might look a bit like they're dressing up as blokes 'cause they're footballers. I hope it's just fashion, I don't really follow trends but I think baggy is 'in' at the moment so it may just be unfortunate timing that the win comes when the fashion is to wear a more masculine cut. Would have looked much worse if they'd been stuffed into little summery frocks and heels though.

BlueyNeedsToFuckOff · 28/07/2025 22:39

They look fine to me. The purple ribbon and winners’ medals stand out nicely against the clothes, which is what they’re actually being celebrated for rather than their fashion sense.

SomeOfTheTrouble · 28/07/2025 22:40

I like the outfits. They all look smart and comfortable. They’d have looked absolutely ridiculous in red, white and blue.

ohwhattodowithmylife · 28/07/2025 22:40

Couldn’t care less, think they are all amazing!
why are we continuing to judge them in their outfit

JuniperJuly · 28/07/2025 22:41

I long for the day when women can be recognised for what they achieved and not what they wore.

Clearinguptheclutter · 28/07/2025 22:41

I quite liked the trousers. Not the shorts tho.

I did wonder if there was a dress option and if not, if they were ok with that

if it were me I’d want to wear a nice dress to go to number 10!

AllHoityToity · 28/07/2025 22:41

I like it, especially the mix and match element. The ones in shorts look great.

Tailored navy trousers…they don’t work for the gas board as my granny used to say.

NoNameisGoodEnough · 28/07/2025 22:41

They look much better than I would have after 120 mins of intense football, penalties and a long night of celebrations! I think they are an absolute inspiration.

if you’re thinking colours of the flag, blue would have been a total no-no (matched with red and white anyway)
