Why did I drink 2 bottles of wine!

So, I was making a Sunday roast yesterday, opened a bottle of wine and before I knew it 2 had gone! This is not a regular occasion and don’t think I have ever done that before. It was over the course of about 6 hours but I am paying for it today.

can anybody else manage 2 bottles?

Must be the hangover! I made a roast dinner on a saturday

I have done once or twice and I seriously paid for it the next day, not worth it. My limit now at a push is a bottle and a half but I normally stop at 1 bottle. Anything I drink after that is the difference between feeling alright the next day and being hungover.

Why call it the Sunday roast then?

I would definitely notice opening a second bottle of wine, if drinking on my own. You say 2 bottles is unusual but what would be normal for you?

I can drink a bottle and be ok.

As it was a one off I imagine it was because you were enjoying the wine while you were enjoying cooking and lost sight of how much you were drinking. I wouldn’t have been functioning well after three glasses but 🤷🏻‍♀️

Sometimes it’s nice to have a glass while you’re cooking. Just be more aware of how much you’re drinking next time. Unless this is part of a wider pattern I doubt you’re an alcoholic, just be aware that alcoholism creeps up on people.

Yeh! How did we do it?! I drank two bottles one New Years Eve and few years ago and was in bed all day with a bowl all day the next day. I do watch what I drink now I’m older. Wouldn’t want to feel like that again.

I just feel really anxious and not myself today at all. I’ll never do that again.

So are you going to ask someone close to you who was there yesterday what they thought of you on two bottles of wine yesterday?

I probably drank two bottles over the course of yesterday from lunchtime ( was at a party) I was fresh as a daisy this morning though. No ill effects

Back in the day I was a size 10 and drank every boyfriend I ever had under the table. Not beer, couldn't handle the volume of liquid, but shots, cocktails and slammers, I outdid them all and turned up for 9am lectures the next day. I taught people how to play Cardinal Puff and won every time.

Now I fall asleep after half a glass. I'm absolutely pathetic. But in my prime, I reigned supreme. Queen of the Pissheads.
