Do you make your bed?

I do, every day. It looks so untidy and I love getting into a made bed.

But I was talking to a friend earlier and she never does. So just wondered what the general consensus was.

Make your bed (at least 5 days out of 7) = You are not being unreasonable

Don’t make your bed = You are being unreasonable

It wouldn't occur to me not to. My room is a lovely space where I go to relax sometimes - a beautifully made bed is part of the joy of the room.

I don't spend ages, but I pull the fitted sheet taught and re-tuck it anywhere that needs to be tightened up. I plump all the pillows in both directions so the feathers and all fluffy. I pull the duvet up so it's nice and smooth, shake and drop the runner across the bottom of the bed, stack our couple of cushions and I even sometimes drop a single drop of lavender oil in the pillows. Takes about five minutes and pays me back x100000 every time I get into bed at night.

Fully agree.. plus change bedding regularly. Jo Malone pillow mist is a treat too.

Made every morning as soon as I get up. I even make it if I’m unwell and go downstairs for a bit can’t stand getting into an unmade bed

Absolutely, I have my whole life since I was able to. All beds were made in our house growing up.
There is nothing nicer at the end of the day.
I also iron my sheets and pillowcases. The best.

I literally never make my bed. What's the point?

OneTrackMindToday · 28/07/2025 00:00

Ah, I voted the wrong way, sorry! Your options are in the opposite order to the voting buttons.

Every single day without failed I straighten sheet, pillows and duvet, then fold back duvet to air. Curtains and windows open. Pull duvet up at bedtime.

That said, I can't stand extra cushions/ runners on beds, especially in hotels/Airbnb as I suspect they never get washed so gives me the ick. So my bed doesn't take much making anyway.

Yes, everyday except when I’m on holiday. It’s nice for housekeeping to make up my bed for a change!

When I’m going into the office during the week, I make up my bed last before leaving the house so it has time to air out (around half an hour/45 minutes).

When I wfh, I don’t rush and maybe do it a few hours into the day, again so it can air out but definitely before lunch time!

I can’t get into an unmade bed! Sometimes I don’t have time to make it before nursery drop off and work, or dp is on nights so sleeping in the day so I often come home to an unmade bed……. But I make it to get in it at bed time

Yes,I make my bed every day. When I get out of bed I pull the duvet down to let the bed air for a couple of hours, then simply pull the duvet up and straighten it out and straighten the pillows. Takes no more than a couple of minutes.
