Furious at DH and his friend bringing someone back to our house

TiredSaturdayy · 26/07/2025 07:54

My DH’s friend is staying for the weekend. He lives about 4 hours away and they only see each other once a year. This is perfectly fine with me as I usually get on well with him.

Last night, they both went out into town to catch up. DH got into bed about 1am, I sleep lightly so was woken but soon got to sleep. His friend is staying in our spare bedroom.

I am woken by noises shortly after. I wake DH and ask if he can hear them. He says there’s something he needs to tell me and that his friend met a women in the last bar they were in and INVITED HER HOME! So the noises were infact them ‘at it’ in my spare bedroom.

I go ballistic at DH and ask why he thought this was acceptable. Our DC is away this weekend which is beyond the point. Completely irresponsible to allow a stranger into our house in those circumstances.

I tell DH that if he doesn’t ask her to leave then I will. He says he’ll message his friend. No reply. He’s about to get up and knock on the door when we hear it open and his friend sees her out and she eventually leaves.

DH is asleep still now, I am downstairs absolutely aghast at their behaviour. If he thinks I am sorting out the fry up they kept on about before they went out then they’ve another thing coming.

If he hasn't already left, he strips the bed sheets and pops everything in the washing machine for you.

For her? 🙄

I honestly don’t see the problem. With no kids there, I’d be pleased by friend got his leg over and enjoy the gossip the next morning.

You’d be pleased your weekend guest got his leg over with a stranger in your spare room (without you even being aware until you woke up)?

I had no idea people were happy to have strangers shagging in their house. Really surprised.

MN goes from one extreme to the other - either not answering the door or strangers being freely allowed to shag in your house.

Where does it say the woman was drunk? Or at least drunk enough to not know what she was doing, which is what your suggesting.

Two men and multiple bars are unlikely to be sober at 1am.

Therefore poor decision making and a reduced ability to judge the sobriety levels of others.

Sounds like there was a connection with the people involved reading OPs posts. A woman would have to be extremely drunk to not know what she was doing and if she was that drunk he wouldn't have brought her back to his wife's home

This is you ^ also calculating the odds of the woman drinking while at the bar.

The woman is also out late in a bar so low odds that she and her friend (a local) were paying for overpriced soft drinks.

However the men have no way of judging if or how much she had to drink or if she had taken drugs as they did not know her and were not with her for the whole night.

So a high risk choice

If there had been any suggestion of something having gone wrong I could understand your obsession with talking about rape and police reports but that's not what happened here. Two adults fancied a shag. Yes it is possible for a woman to want casual sex! No the woman isnt always so drunk to not know what she is doing. OPs partner was coming home to her and her bed and his pal was in the spare room. It wasn't two men taking her home to have sex with her. The only person who might have made a bad judgement was the woman but even then it sounds like she was aware her friend knew OPs husband.

Early 40’s so old enough to know better. DH described the woman as recently divorced and mad for it!

Completely disrespectful OP
How dare they?
I include your husband in that

I've read OPs posts yes

I would have waited till the morning, made a cup of tea, taken the temperature. I certainly wouldn't kick someone out in the middle of the night. Did you never have a drunken one night stand? Not the end of the world.

SilverHammer · 26/07/2025 20:50

CoffeeCakeAndALattePlease · 26/07/2025 08:00

I think going ballistic was OTT. Surely you can just say you’re not comfortable and that you’d like her to leave? Do you mean you were angry, shouting etc?

Personally, if my kids weren’t there I’d not be bothered and be fine with him having his fun. With my kids home I’d be less happy though I’d not go ballistic.

Great for you. Not everyone appreciates their house being used as a knocking shop.

Again, someone who has completely missed the point.

It isn't about a drunken ONS, but about being a guest and inviting a random stranger back without the OP knowing.

And I suspect that there will be quite a few people who haven't had a drunken ONS as an invited guest at someone else's house.

Do you know what, no, I didn't ever have a drunken one night stand and I would have been bloody furious if my husband had rocked up home with his mate and some random female who was gagging for it.
It's this sort of behaviour makes me pleased I'm over the hill. I don't like the view of the other side of the hill.

Look can you just get to what your point is? Of course there is the option to show quote history on a quoted post but no I dont read every post on a thread.

Bluntly, do you not see if you don’t check the OP’s posts/updates you are in danger of talking out of the back of your neck (or two foot further south) ? You don’t have to read every post but it’s like shooting in the dark if you don’t get up to date.

I've already told them that I've read all of OPs posts but they said that wasnt what they were asking me, and I'm confused as to what they are asking me

Apologies, I do see now you have said you have read all of OP's posts. I admit to getting frustrated by people who don't and can't bother with keeping up to date.

I would demand a new mattress and bed linen. I certainly wouldn’t be putting anything from that event in my washing machine. If the shagging couples morals are so loose then God knows what they have infected the bed with. Crabs springs to mind. What a pair of CF’s. I can’t believe that your husband went along with this. If the friend was that desperate for sex then he should have booked a hotel room.

Ew. If your husband talks like that about women it doesn’t surprise me he thinks his friend’s behaviour is totally normal

Honestly, I wouldn’t care. The kids were not there. He was in the guest room. He is a grown man. Good for him! Who is getting hurt? I don’t understand what you are so upset about.

Some random I don't know from Adam shagging in my house when my opportunity to agree to that was never sought? No I would be fuming about it.

Hedgehogbrown · 26/07/2025 22:21

It's annoying but it's not the end of the world. The language you are using to describe the woman is disgusting and misogynistic. Why did you ask if your husband was also on the pull? Don't you trust him? And why are you running around after 2 grown men and making their breakfast?

Unexpectedlysinglemum · 26/07/2025 22:29

Maryberrysaga · 26/07/2025 08:14

Meh. I wouldn’t care if there were no children in the house. I would mercilessly take the piss this morning though!

Me too, as long as the friend paid for anything stolen or broken
, they're all adults. I would find it funny
