Cuppa Tea!

So just a little lightheartedness on this drab Sunday morning in the West Mids šŸ™‚ā˜”ļø

I’d like to know your morning brew! And also to know if you have a favourite cup, brand of tea and if you have a pic to upload even better! (My guilty secret is teacup/mug hoarder šŸ˜…).

So my fave cup is a V&A Alice in wonderland decorated with gold leaf no less! Ridiculously costed but I had a voucher so all good. Fave tea is loose leaf Yorkshire and as you’ll see from my pic, I like it strong!

DH has just brought me an Emma Bridgewater pint mug of Yorkshire Gold, to drink in bed. This type of behaviour is higher up my Reasons to Love DH list than he realises.

LittlleMy · 20/07/2025 09:03

@toomuchfaff Haven't had a mint tea in a good while - fancy it now! And love the pretty embossed glass cup!

I’m the proud owner of a mumsnet mug. It’s currently in the kitchen, but I’ll post a photo later. Beverage of choice is Hebden Tea Irish Afternoon blend leaves. Or Yorkshire tea bag if I’m out and about. I take my own bags with me, can’t be doing with tetley or pg tips.

I was the one to make the brews...

DH is a nepresso with frothy oat milk

I'm a coffee girl through and through.

But when I do drink tea, it has to be from a white mug, it's very non descript but it's just perfect- a mug, but like teacup thinness - it's not china though.

Yorkshire tea, nice and strong.

CottageGoblin · 20/07/2025 09:15

Thanks all. I am loving this. I am a massive cup of tea lover but I’m just not enjoying tea the same since I got pregnant.
love how cosy these all look.

Arlanymor · 20/07/2025 09:15

Ooh this thread is my spirit animal - I L.O.V.E tea!

This is my favourite mug, bought as a gift by my lovely friend when I was working abroad and needed a reminder of home. I used to take it to Board meetings and only show one side! Made me smile...

Also you can see this morning's tea of choice - helps me start my day with a spring in my step! I'm going for a walk on the beach in a bit and then breakfast at my favourite haunt.

Coffee here. Not too fussed as long as it’s decaf
I sometimes drink tea in the afternoon. Strong.
I have the little one cup Alice in Wonderland teapot but only use it to gaze at.

Devilsmommy · 20/07/2025 09:18

I've got a Mr Grumpy mug I have my morning tea from. Cheap Tesco teabags for me šŸ˜…

100% just love a ā€˜thin’ cup to sip from - odd as that sounds!

Yes aren’t they great!? (Were easily entertained šŸ˜…).

Congrats on your pregnancy šŸ™‚ and hope you’re not too long without your tea appetite!

My fav is Yorkshire Gold - DD16 accidentally ordered ordinaryYorkshire teabags on a Whoosh order & you can really notice the difference. Unfortunately she got 2 boxes so it will be a little while before I return to gold! Some of the M & S teas are good too. Kenyan Gold ( I think it’s called!) is lovely. I have a favourite mug, sage green with bunnies on it. Second favourite has ā€œ Do More Of What Makes You Happyā€ & third says ā€œ Life is short, let’s eat cakeā€! I was impressed that DH knew my 2nd favourite without asking me. Prefer my tea quite strong but a lot of people mistakenly think that if you drink strong tea then you only want a drop of milk. Not true!

I have 2 morning mugs, they’re both massive and no other mug will do for that first cup of tea. Just to clarify, I only have 1 at a time!! The other will be in the dishwasher….
then I have a special mug at work and one in the cupboard of the other office I sometimes go into.
i have a mug I like if I’m sitting in the garden, guest mugs, mugs for the occasional hot chocolate because a tea mug cannot be used for this, mugs for my evening cuppa because it’s smaller and decaf and the less I drink in the evenings the better….
My ds18 is the mug police and often will have a go about how many mugs we have and moans they don’t all fit in the cupboard - they do if you put them in properly….. Anyway if I buy a new mug he says I have to get rid of one, I’m thinking of asking Stacy Solomon to give him a job on her show!
Tea of choice is Yorkshire tea, or the nice tea they sell at the farm shop that I can’t remember the name of but it’s in a green packet!
Enjoy the tea ladies!!

Yes exactly! Sounds like a contradiction - strong tea with milk - but it’s not!

I had a huge mug with my initial on. Annoyingly the dog broke it a couple of weeks ago. So now I use OHs. Doreset tea for me, no sugar and a splash of milk.

daffodilandtulip · 20/07/2025 09:31

I'm an Emma Bridgewater mug hoarder. Favourite tea is Assam but I drink too much so I have supermarket brand throughout the day. I always say "just normal" when people make it for me. My teenagers ate disgusting and take sugar in theirs 🤢

I enjoy a fruit tea in the summer too, that has to be from my pink glass mug.

LittlleMy · 20/07/2025 09:31

@Beautifulsunflowers ah! a true cup connoisseur - I’m glad I’m not alone with the very real need to have certain mugs at certain times and for certain beverages!

I'm the opposite, I like weak tea but hardly any milk. Some people stick a load of milk in but that's disgusting, just briefly dunk the bag šŸ˜€

Honestly I’d love you to recommend a good fruit tea because all the ones I’ve tried (Twinings) smell divine but taste like dishwater!

I went off tea during pregnancy too šŸ¤¢šŸ˜” thankfully it only lasted a couple of weeks postpartum and now many years later I'm back on several cups a day lol hang on in there šŸ˜‚
