Will this dress suit a plus size bridesmaid?

I’m getting married next summer. Hoping to have that eclectic look for my bridesmaids - different colours but all cohesive. I’ve chosen tones of pink as I think that is romantic.

Im buying the dresses. I have one bridesmaid who is plus size (12). She has an hour glass figure. Will this dress suit her in your opinion?

I know not everyone likes the material but I do, thanks in advance for your input

A size 12 is not plus size?

Picklechicken · 08/07/2025 08:05

12 isn’t plus sized.

I think you are going to have to ask the people who are going to be wearing the dresses for their views on the style. It’s fine for you to choose the colour but I wouldn’t want people to be uncomfortable in a dress they didn’t choose.

Genok · 08/07/2025 08:06

The only reason I’m rushing right now is that this dress was recently on sale and I can buy it for a VERY good price

Totally depends on her shape but if she's all tummy, no.

ButterCrackers · 08/07/2025 08:06

Size 12 isn’t a plus size.

hobbledyhoy · 08/07/2025 08:07

C’mon now. Try a little harder.

RhaenysRocks · 08/07/2025 08:07

I'd hate that. 12 is not a plus size anyway but if you have curves that will cling and show every lump and bump. I generally think pale colours generally don't do bigger women many favours to be honest.

Hodgemollar · 08/07/2025 08:08

Why don’t you ask her? Isn’t the point of different dresses so your individual bridesmaids feel comfortable?
I’m a size 6-8 and I don’t feel comfortable in clingy satin. It’s not a given she will.

Oh apologies. I don’t know why I thought it was. English is my 2nd language

If you mean a UK size 12 then that's most definitely not plus size.
Is this a deliberately goady thread?

WeirdyBeardyMarrowBabyLady · 08/07/2025 08:09

I would just swap her for a thinner friend and buy the dresses

But I think the second model who is bigger than my friend looks stunning

Sorry but what do you mean by ‘plus size 12’?
12 is not a plus size.
With that fabric I’d say regardless of size smoothing underwear would be good to give a cleaner silhouette.

Genok · 08/07/2025 08:09

The model in the second picture looks to be a size 12 or bigger so yes providing your bridesmaid likes it it’ll look great. Also size 12 isn’t plus size

That isn't an excuse. You know your friend. You know she isn't plus sized.

Genok · 08/07/2025 08:11

I personally thought the dress is flattering and feminine

YABVU for calling a size 12 'plus size.' And of course this will suit a SLIM woman who is a size 12!

CatsMagic · 08/07/2025 08:12

WeirdyBeardyMarrowBabyLady · 08/07/2025 08:08

Yep

Yup !

Crap effort OP , especially as the model in the second picture looks around a size 12/14.

ThatGreatMember · 08/07/2025 08:13

Dress is horrendous on 95% of women

AnnaQuayInTheUk · 08/07/2025 08:13

Are you in the US? A size 12 there is plus size, it's equivalent to a UK size 16.

Whatever your friends size, ask her how she would feel wearing that dress. I'm a UK size 12 with a flat stomach and there is no way I'd wear that dress, it would show every lump and bump.
