Tax increases imminent

1000 replies

Iwishicouldflyhigh · 04/07/2025 11:28

Heavy hints that taxes will rise in the next Budget after the recent climb down (as the ‘taxes won’t rise again’ was based on a 5 billion saving in benefits).

I can’t lie, I’m so pissed off about this. I don’t think anyone wants to see someone who is genuinely unable to work to be further penalised, but we all know there are thousands of people who could work but don’t.

this country is going to absolute shit . We pay more and more for less and less.

Entitlement! if anyone is genuine they are not the issue. What these young ones don’t understand is as they get older there won’t be as much in the pot as the workers who are paying for them now won’t be around or living off a pension and who will support them until there in there 70s. No wonder the government are trying to stop it now before there’s nothing left for the nhs. I bet there are nurses and teachers emergency workers suffering mental health who crack on. imagine all these people leaving there jobs to get benefits who would look after us then.

It's the other way around. There is an ageing population heading towards retirement and the younger generations who haven't benefited from free uni education, affordable housing are the ones who will be supporting the older generations.

WestwardHo1 · 06/07/2025 13:58

I've thought this for a few weeks as my fifty year old joints are starting to creak and hurt. If it's going to be necessary for us to work until we're 69/70 to claim a pension, what the government really need to be doing is investing in research into osteoarthritis. I'm not being flippant or facetious.

Exactly how are 70 year olds meant to keep going but the young can’t. sadly everyone knows someone who can fill in the pip forms.

WideawakeinSanDiego · 06/07/2025 14:12

Stopping all benefit payments to drug addicts would save money.

Johnson was an outright liar

No more than others, they all do to get elected.

He’s the only one who’s lied to the Queen too.

Boris Johnson

Punishingly brutal report is devastating for Boris Johnson

Just 40 weeks ago, Boris Johnson was PM. Now this report raises questions whether he can ever return, the BBC's political editor says.

Knowing how to fill the pip forms in... You have to have a medical assessment with a nurse, you provide all your Medical records etc. It is routinely reviewed.

I also noticed that you haven't managed to answer my question about what makes you think there are a significant proportion of fraudulent claims? You just keep repeating the accusation without any reasoning, explanation, evidence etc...

Do you really think you just fill in a form and get some free money? I mean, really?

Do you not think people can pretend to have mental health issues it’s not like there’s tests they can do is there? It’s why it’s so high it’s the easiest to fake. I know people who do it that’s how I know and it’s not just about fraudulently claiming it’s using it as an excuse it’s not like they cannot work is it. Do you think it’s ok for people to choose not to go out to work just because their mental health isn’t good. Do you not think hey whoever has mental health issues can go on pip and the ones who are not mentally struggling can carry us. People who work suffer mental health issues all the time. It’s part of life these days.

There are indeed tests for mental disorders and the guidance is often found in a manual called the DSM (number changes as versions are updated). Evidence of their treatment pathways, response and progress would be scrutinised and the impact on their life looked at.

But please, don't let facts get in the way of your nasty propaganda...

Not with the associate increase in crime. Addicts don't stop because you take their money away, and any on disability benefits will have a vast number of comorbidities.

I think depression can show up as inflammation in the blood so it could be proven if they wanted to ?

Not to mention reviewing assessments, crises, interventions, GP notes, consultant letters, OH records from previous roles.

No no no, you just get the form, write 'I'm very sad' on it and they give you loads of free money. And a car. And a wide-screen TV.

I wouldn't refer to druggies as being disabled. That is an insult to the genuine disabled

Being a druggie is a choice and subsequent health problems self inflicted.

The tax payer should not be funding the druggie lifestyle. Instead divert those funds to prisons if crime rates increase. At least this will be a deterrent to future generations considering the lifestyle and thus cleaning up towns.

No not at all I just believe that a person can still work. MY OPINION! Or am I not allowed one. people who have cancer and are blind, have one leg one arm no legs can all work. still work so why are the young claiming they can’t. This post is about imminent taxes by the way, just in case you lost sight of that.
