We need someone with backbone to put forward an alternative political viewpoint.

Neither of them were/are effective politicians. They are activists who cling to rhetoric without understanding the context required to manage a village economy and its relations with its neighbouring town never mind a country and global state relationships.

And exactly the same can be said about Farage and Tice, so...

marmaladeandpeanutbutter · 03/07/2025 22:36

Excellent post, @Agrumpyknitter. Scary how easily fooled people are by Reform. They are wolves in sheep clothing, through the mechanism of populism. People would really suffer under their rule, and especially those without much.

Wolmando · 03/07/2025 22:37

Sounds good to me

No, they are a pair of clowns.

Absolutely. Laurel and Hardy running the hard left show. It will be very entertaining.

No way. That is insane. She is a monumentally stupid woman so I'm not surprised by this at all.

ilovesooty · 03/07/2025 22:52

I don't care what party politicians are moving from and to, but if they no longer want to represent the party they were elected to serve, they should be subject to a by election.

PersephoneSeethes · 03/07/2025 22:53

Redshoeblueshoe · 03/07/2025 21:37

Well splitting the Labour vote leaves the door wide open for Reform.
Is that what you actually want ?

Yes. I can’t stand Reform, but I dislike Corbyn and Sultana even more.

Spartahori · 03/07/2025 22:56

LancashireButterPie · 03/07/2025 21:54

It breaks my heart to say this but I think Labour have become more right wing than the Tories are.

I am totally horrified at the cuts to disability payments for the most vulnerable people. I work in public services and see things getting worse not better.

I think that a more left wing presence is a good thing, to challenge, and hold Starmer accountable .

Completely fed up with being led by billionaires.

I’m totally horrified with the number of MPs - MPs fgs - who seem to be completely oblivious to how running a budget works. Keir is so much better off with total idiots such as ZS out of the party.

JustSawJohnny · 03/07/2025 23:03

SOMEONE needs to stand up against Reform! The last thing we need is that lot of Trump loving, NHS hating. rich-people tax saving kuntz in power!

Corbyn has the balls AND he'd have a lot of support from Labour voters who are disappointed with the current government being too centrist.

BlueJuniper94 · 03/07/2025 23:08

Is that you @LancashireButterPie Restore Britain?

Itisnotdownonanymap · 03/07/2025 23:19

Where has this idea if Corbyn as a courageous hero come from? What has he done that makes you think that? He was quite happy sitting on the backbenches for 30 years doing nothing but meeting cranks and handing out leaflets.

CaravaggiosCat · 03/07/2025 23:24

🤮🤮 No thanks

User37482 · 03/07/2025 23:35

Yeah love it the pro Iranian regime (blinding and whipping women who take their hijabs off) pro Russia (well yeah just that small biological attack on Uk soil) hezbollah (state within a state, undermining Lebanese democracy for decades, they’ve only just started sorting the banking and collecting weapons out now hezbollah have had their balls blown off) hamas (no elections for 17 years, enough said) pro destruction of UK military assets.

For people who get to vote or demonstrate without genuine risk, his supporters are uniquely fond of terrorists, oppressors and dictators.

Jeremy Corbyn? The Jeremy Corbyn who did nothing to stop the rabid anti-semetism that was sweeping Labour under his leadership? Who had traditional Labour voters leaving in their droves? That Jeremy Corbyn? Nah, think we're OK without him, thanks.

It was a scam, do try and keep up.

Yeah no thank you to racist conspiracy theory bullshit.

Mumble12 · 03/07/2025 23:41

I’m not a fan of everything this Labour government have done and I am a huge fan of Zarah’s. But I think this is bad news unfortunately. I would happily support her, but as others have said, this will split the Labour voters and allow Farage to waltz in to number 10.

I just hope the people critiquing this government for being too harsh are happy with whatever Reform manage. Those that think millionaire grifter Farage is going to help the poor and vulnerable are living in cuckoo land.

Cososom · 03/07/2025 22:36

Farage was on the radio this morning. Twice he was asked how he’d stop the boats, twice he responded by saying Labour had failed to do so. No plans put forward. When a caller called him out on it, his response was “well don’t vote for me” 👍

MustTryHarderAndHarder · 03/07/2025 21:48

Yes, it is good for Reform as the left wing vote will be split and good for everyone as hopefully we will never have Labour government again.

It does beg a good question. You don't want a labour government ever again. I don't want a conservative government ever again (can't forgive them for Brexshit).

Reform are, well, Farage, so no substance, and see earlier comment about Brexshit.

Corbyn was unelectable when in labour, so won't be any different elsewhere.

Who the hell do I vote for?

I totally agree. Zarah is our MP and I have no kdea what, if anything, she has actually done for her constituents.

Spartahori · 04/07/2025 00:17

I think Corbyn could appeal to hard left Labour voters, but there are no where near enough hard left Labour voters out there. Labour won by attracting disaffected Tory voters - the same people who utterly loathe Corbyn and everything he stands for. Socialism isn’t and will never be popular with the UK public. This will never be a successful party.

HRTQueen · 04/07/2025 00:26

Great could do as well as the Socialist Labour Party 😆

Im not happy with some of the decisions the Labour Party is making but the left of the party leaving to set up a new party where they can plan and plot the workers revolution is great news Starmer will be pleased

Mmm well it went very wrong in 2019

Good you carry on if this is the country you want your daughter's and granddaughters growing up in. Remember you get what you wish for. Enjoy.
