To be done with Labour - no money will be saved

I've just seen on ITV news that even if the bill goes through no money whatsoever will be saved. So it all seems a pretty pointless exercise. What on earth was the point of all this fuss and argument. Might have guessed this government would be a disaster. That huge majority and they can't get anything done.

I hate to think what the UK will be like after 4 more years of this.

The party isn't even formed yet and already there is in-fighting. Doesn't exactly inspire confidence.

Angela Rayner has been suspended by Unite the Union over the Birmingham bin strike.

The union has also announced it will review its relationship with the Labour Party.

Unite, one of Labour’s biggest financial backers, voted on Friday to suspend the Deputy Prime Minister, accusing her of backing a councilthat had “peddled lies”.

It is understood that Ms Rayner believes she had already resigned her membership of the union some months ago, and does not think she is currently a member.

LOVELY.

The National Trust is to cut at least 550 jobs in efforts to save £26m after changes made in Rachel Reeves’s debut budget pushed up labour costs.

The conservation charity, which looks after 500 historic houses, castles, parks and gardens, said a rise of more than £10m in the cost of employer’s national insurance and the minimum wage in April had outstripped an increase in income from visitors.
