7 years for the boy and three for the girl. This country is pathetic sometimes. A man lost his life while innocently walking his dog. Too sad

Cannabis causes mental health problems and in young people can lead to impaired brain function for life (I have family affected so I know this). If someone is growing and selling it (a dealer) then there should be a decent punishment for it.

Something definitely needs to be done about crime in this country because it is getting out of control.

This is pointless as both will be given new identities on the state if this is the case and innocent people related to them may be attacked when they are nothing to do with their scummy family member

doing this does nothing other than open up for these kids to be attacked then guess what whoever attacks them will be put inside

Ive outlined why this is a bad idea already but it also means people will be misidentified as them - someone killed themselves not long ago because people wrongly thought they were venebles. The man wasn’t Venables, had done nobody any harm and is now dead. But I’m guessing you support that

Well that is a relief, and that is why it’s generally a bad idea to out the identity of children/teens.

Surely people can just as easily be mistaken for killers if their anonymity is not lifted? Probably more easily in fact.

with this case we never knew what these killers looked like to begin with or who they were. So members of the public would not know what sort of appearance they were looking for. They can’t go round attacking every single person that looks the same age as them on release.

with Venables and Thompson people had a clear idea of what they looked like thanks to the photos. So people wandered round specifically looking for a white man who was older but had the features of the boys. Leading to loads of people getting falsely accused and a suicide
