Tell me my dh is being unreasonable ?
We have a noisy petrol mower at he is outside mowing the lawn !
I've been out ( in my nightie ! ) and told him it's too early , and he has told me it's not .
Surely it's way too early ?

It’s the new version of the competitive undereaters club I think - the competitive early risers!

Yep. Also part of the 'I walk 20,000 steps a day' club. 😆

Well our gardener turns up to work at 9am. I assume between 7 and 9 he’s showering, brushing his teeth, eating his breakfast and getting dressed.

Well I ran a gardening business employing 2 labourers for 16 years. I was already at my second job by 8am. Yours sounds a bit slack not starting til 9am.

We are up every day 6am. 7am isn't a big deal.

Not everyone is on your schedule though

Yeah, there’s issues! Just as I thought

There is always some that wants the last word ...... oh wait ! 😂

I would be livid, yes he can do it legally, but what about some consideration for any people in the area who work nightshifts? It's madness cutting it with the morning dew still on it anyway.

He does a fab job so I’ll let him off 🤷🏻‍♀️. Suits us both.

BIossomtoes · 02/06/2025 10:39

It would be too early if it was Sunday. 7am on a Monday? Can’t see the problem.

Suffolker · 02/06/2025 10:47

Yes. Unquestionably unreasonable.

Umidontknow · 02/06/2025 10:52

7am in the week isn't early - you'd have a point on a Sunday though.

DevonMum123 · 02/06/2025 10:52

Inconsidered muppet. Definitely not right.

Bamboozledbylife · 02/06/2025 10:59

What a selfish dick! I'd be furious. Lots of passive aggressive noise in return from me 😂

Kbroughton · 02/06/2025 11:00

Bit early. Would be worse on a weekend (yes i know that some people work shifts). We have neighbours who have small screaming young children in the back garden at 6am on a Sunday and that irritates me! When mine was small and screaming i wouldn't have had them out in the back garden but hey ho. if he can do it at another time then he should.

Nothing wrong with 7am cutting grass.

If you’re a selfish entitled twat, of course there isn’t

sleepchaser · 02/06/2025 11:09

OF COURSE it's too early! Assuming you have neighbours. You will always have people on these threads, who have toddlers up at 5am, who will say it's not too early, but imo you shouldn't be making that kind of racket at 7am.

I walk the dogs at about 730am, and I'm always shocked at how loud other dog walkers can be at that time, shouting "GOOD MORNING" in booming voices, right outside people's windows. It's just so rude!

CosyLemur · 02/06/2025 11:10

Unsocial noise hours are before 7am and after 11pm - he's fine!

ChocolateCinderToffee · 02/06/2025 11:10

Very inconsiderate. The chap who does my garden comes round at 8.00 and doesn't use any noisy equipment until just before he leaves.

Building work can start from 8.00 is my understanding.

Iusedtosleepbeforehavingkids · 02/06/2025 11:10

7am is way too early. I would be having words with him if he was my neighbour. Petrol mowers are very noisy.
9am at a weekend or 8am during the week.

Pigeon31 · 02/06/2025 11:11

Wouldn't think 7am as an issue, but neighbours who work shifts might feel differently

Wouldn’t later be worse for people on night shifts? They’d only just have got in from work at 7.

UnderratedCabbage · 02/06/2025 11:13

It's not just shift people who are sleepingat 7AM...

FuckityFux · 02/06/2025 11:13

It’s a bank holiday here so definitely too early. 😂

eb949013 · 02/06/2025 11:15

A very good lesson in just because you can, doesn't mean you should! I wouldn't be making excessive noise before 8am at the earliest

WhiteRosesAndCandles · 02/06/2025 11:19

7am is way to early to mow the lawn.

No lawns are mowed before 10am here.

Hoolahoophop · 02/06/2025 11:20

Weekend antisocial. Weekday I would say fine.

Might be the only time they can do it if they work late, currently busy at work, will work 9-7 eat dinner then cut grass or early morning are the choices.

Weekends are busy - second jobs, kids and adults clubs etc.

Navyontop · 02/06/2025 11:21

It’s definitely inconsiderate and thoughtless.
