Thinking with their penises. In one way or another. All the time.

Holdmeclosertinydancer2018 · 28/05/2025 08:32

“Cheer up love, it might never happen”.
Fuck off.

To reassure you that stops when you're older. No man has dared this said this to me in decades. I think it's post-menopausal RBF.

TheaBrandt1 · 28/05/2025 08:40

I can safely say I have never once in my life shouted at a stranger about their appearance. Yet I have had it done to me sooo many times - always by men.

AltitudeCheck · 28/05/2025 08:02

Men in the office who never make the tea, wash the cups, organise a leaving card/ collection for their direct reports, take the post etc because they are blind to these seemingly small tasks and happy for women to pick up the slack.

Reminds me of the time that the male director of the company (early 30's) asked me in the kitchen if I ever made coffee ready for my line manager on his desk for when he came in (male also early 30's). I think my face was far too WTAF for his liking.

Byebyechicken · 28/05/2025 01:49

'Where's your sense of humour?'
'It's not my fault.'
'You're making a mountain out of a molehill.'

Not to mention their seemingly insatiable sexual appetite!
When I've been on my feet all day, making mental lists of everything that needs doing, I'm beyond exhausted, the last thing I want to do is play with your dick! Why can't you see this before you have to ask yet again?
And why when I say no do you immediately jump to the conclusion that I don't find you attractive anymore, rather than notice that I'm exhausted and overwhelmed with all of the responsibilities you have quietly left to me.
Men who treat women like the supporting act in their quest for happiness, conveniently ignoring that she would like to please herself sometimes, as he so often does.

Thunderous applause!

Jujujudo · 28/05/2025 08:58

Thinking that going out to work in order to financially support their family makes them some kind of fucking superhero.

My mother still gets it and she’s 70.

Yeah, Mumsnet isn’t man hating at all…

This. Imagine the outrage if a man posted a similar thread about women?

I told my Narcissist (undiagnosed but he is) H last week that I couldn’t continue this way any longer. That I’m physically and emotionally exhausted, I can’t eat, can’t sleep, can’t have a normal conversation, sick of always being in the wrong, sick of him putting his mother before his own children, sick of being a single married mother, desperate for some attention and empathy etc etc.
The very next day he says to me in a whiny voice (as though I’d not said any of those things the night before): why don’t you want to have sex with me anymore? I feel very offended that you don’t ever suggest it.

FUUUUUUUUCKKKKKKKKKKKKKK!!!

RabbitsRock · 28/05/2025 09:02

I work on a till & if I had £1 for every time I offer a bloke a carrier bag & he quips “ I brought one with me love”,indicating his wife/partner, I would be extremely rich! And they always say it as if it’s original & as if they’re hilariously funny. Twats!

SweetSound · 28/05/2025 09:03

@ItsBouqeeeet Men moan about women all over the rest of the internet. They sometimes even do it on here, but obviously as mumsnet is mainly used by women, this is a place that women will talk. How dare we!

helpfulperson · 28/05/2025 09:04

XWKD · 28/05/2025 02:08

Apart from the manspreading, these could all describe women in SIL, MIL threads.

"My SIL used MY baby name!"
"My MIL says I'm fat!"
"My MIL talks down to me!"
"My SIL is jealous of DS!"

Yup. I think the general mumsnet vibe is I am perfect everyone else is a twat.

The way simple demands for equality are interpreted as us oppressing them.
The whole 'men have lost their way, poor them' because we don't pander to them in the same way any more - and now it's supposed to mean rolling back 60+ years.
Manosphere losers are not men. They're scared little boys who don't understand the meaning of strength (moral and mental).

So it's okay to women to have a good bitch but not vice versa...

merrymelody · 28/05/2025 09:08

I just wonder why there aren’t any men (that I’ve met) who are as kind and supportive and selfless as my grandad was.

We're not talking about restricting their bodily autonomy, are we? We don't talk about them being our 'property' like the Tates of this world, are we? We can bitch and say we just want to live our lives as adult human beings with full agency and autonomy without having to look after dead weights or lose out in our careers to morons who know how to play the old boys club.

RabbitsRock · 28/05/2025 09:09

By “ manspreading”, I’m assuming pps are meaning when blokes sit with their legs as wide apart as possible? I can’t be doing with “mansplaining” - my DH is wonderful in many ways but can have a tendency to do this & I have to pull him up on it!

I've never once heard a man describe women as 'their property' and neither have friends.

Surf2Live · 28/05/2025 09:12

They insist they're better leaders, and yet so many can't manage their share of a household / parenting.

They insist it's Not All Men and yet if a woman is harassed / attacked by a man it's her fault for not taking adequate precautions.

Too many of them view women as gold diggers, yet they'll happily settle down with a woman and share finances, reducing their financial load but won't contribute 50% of household labour.

If they invite a woman on a date and they pay for the date, they then expect her to put out for them sexually and if she refuses they'll call her a whore. Sir, it was you who treated her like a prostitute!

The hypocrisy is strong. They can't see it. The older I get, the more I must conclude, a great many of them are just dumb.

TheaBrandt1 · 28/05/2025 09:16

Yes women really are awful. That whole global industry of women exploiting young men for their own sexual pleasure and trafficking young men to pleasure numerous women. Oh hang on a minute 🙄

TwinklyRoseTurtle · 28/05/2025 09:18

Everything tbh 🤣 I’m only in my 30’s and made the decision a long time ago never to even date again,I’m so over men and wish I hadn’t spent my early adult life being so obsessed with them 🤢

There are many many men who think that way sadly. Maybe not in your circle, but they do exist and spread their poison through religion and/or online. This is a real problem and absolute poison for our society. I mean, wtf, Trump himself ranted over the weekend about 'trophy wives' - what is a 'trophy wife'? That whole notion says a lot about how the man sees us and he is the POTUS. In our faces every single fucking day.

StandFirm · 28/05/2025 09:21

and then of course you have the extremes of radical religions who treat women as chattel.
And the reference to Andrew Tate was because he actually said that. He has millions of young boys and men as followers.

Bowup · 28/05/2025 09:31

After watching Adolescence I unfortunately looked up these online losers with podcasts whinging on about ‘Body counts’ wtf and bringing this that and the other to the table 🤢
The bizarreness of wanting women to have a zero ‘body count’ but at the same time wanting hordes of women to shag them 😵‍💫
