Full Bush or Shaven Haven?

Been on a work training /away day today.
Largely female dominated professional (children’s social care)
As usual in the down time amidst all the doom n gloom of the days agenda me and colleagues get into the really important, off the record team bonding stuff - OLD, step kids, menopause, weightloss jabs, difficult teens , GcSEs, holidays, moaning about the management etc etc .
Two colleagues got into the subject of pubic hair removal (as you do in market town village hall on a Friday afternoon) as one felt strongly that the act of removing pubic hair is deeply anti- feminist. Fair point I guess.

She got lots of push back from the shaven havens, landing strippers, and trim triangle havers. Only one other person said they are au natural but caveated that with not currently in a relationship nor looking.
She went onto suggest that while for young males this is probably a natural expectation in a partner due to socialisation via pornograpgy, any man of ‘our age’ ( 40s/50s) who wouldn’t be averse to a hairless minge is virtually paedophile adjacent!!
I thought that was a bit strong to be honest.
Did get me thinking though.
I’m completely in the shaven haven camp, personally - Much prefer it. I believe I’m still a feminist though.
I go swimming most mornings and in the open changing room it occurred to me that not seen a full bush in years.

I shave my undercarriage and bikini line (plus a little more) and trim the front every couple of weeks. I prefer the feeling of oral with no hair on the labia and also find if it's longer it sometimes gets caught / pulls.

My wife has a full bush and she looks GOOOD!

With all the porn so easily available, are their really men masturbating over short text exchanges of people saying if they wax, shave or otherwise?

Oh, my sweet summer child...

GLC789 · 24/05/2025 15:29

As a feminist.. I lazer my kitty. For me. Because i like how it feels (not the process, the cleanliness and smoothness afterwards). I lazer my pits and legs and upper lip to.

Not that it's anyone business but that's me.

Love,

Feminist

I get a full Hollywood.
With underwear , sanitary products and sanitation etc I feel I don't need the protection of pubic hair.

Dullmary · 24/05/2025 15:32

Full bush and proud. I give it a trim when it reaches my knees if I can be arsed.

Just can’t get head around the ‘pre-pubescent’ comments.
Just feels disproportionate, esp as so mainstream now.

Genuinely feel it’s a comment to shame people because they can’t understand why someone would want to remove their hair because they don’t. I don’t do it for any man as I have no man in my life to do it for!

Because otherwise it traps sweat, and deodorant can’t even reach the surface of a person’s skin.

I don't think you're right with that, otherwise all men would stink constantly and not just the ones who don't wash well.

More than enough of them do.

I prefer mine looking like Phil Mitchell’s head tbh each to their own though

Well if, by pelvic floor exercises, you can also effect a scowl at will, that could make a very entertaining show at a Talent Contest.

Additionally you could consider learning ventriloquism and that would be a real show stopper.

People would probably pay money to watch...doof, doof, doof...

There's enough around me that don't stink. Sorry those around you don't wash.

I’m well post menopausal and don’t have much of a bush left. I miss it actually.

Where do you get the idea of this healthfulness that you possess and I don’t? 🤔

PointsSouth · 24/05/2025 19:09

People remove ALL their picnic hair?

I really hope that phrase catches on.

Just basic medical facts.

less risk of infections, skin irritation, protection from bacteria and microorganisms etc.

And after 23 years of being bald and having absolutely no issues with the things you describe when will they start?

I’d honestly say most people don’t really care- men and women. We have these conversations and actually they’re people getting indignant about things they don’t need to

I think the exact opposite. When I worked for Scarlett magazine and GQ we did surveys on it and the majority do care and have a preference, especially in their partner.

Letmehaveabloodyusernameplease · 24/05/2025 19:34

I'd love to have the full bush of my youth back but now I'm menopausal it appears to have migrated to my chin!

Netcam · 24/05/2025 19:35

I'm 55 and have only been fully shaven twice, both times were my emergency c-sections. It felt horrible when it started growing back. I love my 80s bush. DH gives it a little trim for me occasionally for better access, but I don't let him take much off. I would never bother myself. When I was younger I'd never heard about the concept of shaving it all off, it certainly wasn't a thing among anyone I knew.
