Mines matcha - looks nasty

Previously sweet potato fries but they've kinda died out now

Kimchi

Proper kimchi is amazing. There's a woman who sells it on our local market, I keep meaning to have a go at making it but cba when hers is so good.

The stuff they sell in the supermarket is vinegary shite, and it's not spicy enough.

JohnTheRevelator · 23/05/2025 21:57

Sourdough bread. Salted caramel.

ResumedDeliveryBets · 23/05/2025 21:57

Love sourdough but will at least one restaurant jumping on the bandwagon please realise it needs a bloody steak knife. Don’t serve me zhuzhi toasted sourdough stuff without a weapon to attack it.

I love Aperol spritz. And Campari spritz which is even more bitter.

Matcha tea for me.

Agree on both points. Also love a negroni so just like the bitter.

Matcha to me tastes liquid seaweed. Some things shouldn't be liquid. Seaweed and cinnamon should not be drinkable

MrsK · 23/05/2025 21:58

Sea Moss

Y2ker · 23/05/2025 21:58

Champere · 23/05/2025 21:28

Aperol spritz

Yes. It's disgusting.

ResumedDeliveryBets · 23/05/2025 21:59

Brioche. Too sweet and too much of a sugar paper taste

Bloodylovecheese · 23/05/2025 22:01

HouseofDreams · 23/05/2025 21:37

Small sharing plates that come out ‘as and when they are ready’

Traditional tapas you mean? As served all over Spain

XWKD · 23/05/2025 22:02

YellowOrangePink · 23/05/2025 21:43

Negronis

I love negronis!

DelboytrottersDnecklace · 23/05/2025 22:03

Caramel
Adding salt to it doesn't make it any better

'Dirty' anything turns my stomach

Ditto 'smashed'

I didn't get 'wine o'clock'
I just get headaches if I drink it

'Street food'
Makes me think of finding food in the street and eating it

Marmite27 · 23/05/2025 22:03

I'm dubious about the love of cottage cheese on social media.

The only cottage cheese that’s worth looking at is Longley Farm. All the rest is shit.

Pompom12 · 23/05/2025 22:03

Grazing boards, grazing platters - hate them..all the different tastes and textures touching each other - yuck !

Itisallabitvague · 23/05/2025 22:03

Mezcal - tastes like if mould was a drink....🤮

MarySueSaidBoo · 23/05/2025 22:03

Brioche is like eating a burger in a croissant. Just why?!

I do actually like Oat milk and was buying Oatly barista but as a diabetic I couldn't understand why my blood sugars were all over the place. Then I read the label and realised that there is 35g of sugar in a carton of it.

Oo I LOVE salted caramel

Agree with a PP. Food coming out when it’s ready (I’m looking at you, Wagamama). I hate this. One time my DP was almost finished by the time mine arrived, and it always feels rushed and not relaxed.

HorrorFan81 · 23/05/2025 22:05

I agree with matcha, any time i have tasted it all i get is grass

Poonu · 23/05/2025 22:06

MrsClatterbuck · 23/05/2025 21:33

Same here. I sometimes swap it for granary toast. Also where I am a I can buy sourdough sliced pan. It makes the most devine toast.

@MrsClatterbuck which brand is that please ?I heart the texture of toasted sour dough

ResumedDeliveryBets · 23/05/2025 22:06

In defence of the negroni, I think cocktail menus generally very much play to the sweet palate.

The negroni has ensured those of us enjoying more bitter flavours are now parting with our money in equal quantities 😆

Lastqueenofscotland2 · 23/05/2025 22:06

Matcha tastes like gardening. Horrid

Gingerkittykat · 23/05/2025 22:06

Is rum and raisin ice cream making a comeback? My grandma used to eat it in the 80s and I would like to try it again.

I think the pistachio trend is overhyped. I've tried the Dubai chocolate, and it was nothing special. I can't believe people will pay £10 for a bar of it. My DD likes pistachio strawberries, but the sauce was too gloopy and sweet for me.

Mezcal - tastes like if mould was a drink....🤮

Urgh I bought some to make a cocktail called Ranch Water. I thought the name was ironic. No, it tasted like dirty water

Lastqueenofscotland2 · 23/05/2025 22:07

Oh and natural wine, tastes like the smell of bins on a hot day

ToffeePennie · 23/05/2025 22:08

Avocado. It tastes like dirt. Creamy dirt. I don’t get it.
Also bubble tea - it’s weird and I want a drink, not an “experience”

ReturnoftheBink · 23/05/2025 22:08

Love matcha. Love it. Especially matcha ice cream, lattes, and matcha milk in Japanese corner shops (with about a tonne of sugar in I’m sure).
