Mines matcha - looks nasty

Previously sweet potato fries but they've kinda died out now

Ughh, bubble tea. I tried it once - it felt like I was drinking frogs spawn.

Rum & raisin ice cream…. Of all the possible delicious flavours…rum & raisin?😩

Wine. Sorry. It tastes like chemicals and makes my mouth feel like I’ve been in the Sahara desert for a week with no water, whilst eating furballs.

Bimblebombles · 23/05/2025 21:42

So much hate for sourdough bread on this thread oh dear. I make my own and its the most enjoyable hobby. The thing with sourdough, it has to be really fresh to be good. And any you're buying from a shop will likely have sat around a few days. When you bake it fresh and eat it that day its absolutely soft and beautiful inside, with a crust that just shatters, a perfect kind of waxy chew and an incredible taste. I love the stuff. I don't care for it once its been sat around for a few days, so I only bake quite small loaves so I can eat it up when its fresh.

Oat milk is the food trend I can't get on board with.

Coconut milk fine coconut water blurgh

YellowOrangePink · 23/05/2025 21:43

Negronis

Commonsense22 · 23/05/2025 21:44

I want to say gin which I find utterly revolting...

ThatBlueOtter · 23/05/2025 21:44

Not what you asked OP but I see too many people claiming to hate anchovies on pizza and claim it’s a horrific choice

Some must be lying to be seen as something, what that something is I genuinely don’t know.

They are little salty wonders and really break up the cheese and dough.

My Papa John order tonight was cheese pizza with anchovies, black olives and jalapeños

Best friend says I’m a dirty bitch lol

Small sharing plates that come out ‘as and when they are ready’

Oh this my mine and DH favourite food and we choose our restaurants based on this!

I'm dubious about the love of cottage cheese on social media.

I love cottage cheese. Lidl do a full fat one which is delicious. I add mango or chopped salad ( pepper, cucumber etc).
The best cottage cheese is Longley Farm and possibly the reason I love cottage cheese. It was our local dairy growing up in the 70s so all our milk and dairy products were from there.
I now live 100s of miles away but our local farm shop stocks Longley Farm. I bought some cream freche yesterday. I can eat it straight from the pot.
It’s no longer popular but it is an acquired taste.
I went for lunch yesterday at a friends house. She is really into food fads and is currently doing the 30 foods diet. So we had an eclectic salad. Apparently it’s good for your gut although slightly confusing for the palate.

PlutoCat · 23/05/2025 21:46

Burgers in brioche buns. Just no.

FastnetLundyRockall · 23/05/2025 21:48

Kimchi

Theunamedcat · 23/05/2025 21:48

Putting oats in everything personally my body doesn't know the difference between oats and gluten and reacts....poorly

But from a taste level they are mouth drying sticky tasting wierd texture strangeness

soupyspoon · 23/05/2025 21:49

I dont tend to eat things I dont like, and I like most things.

But when sweet potato fries were a thing I obviously tried them, a let down, not like fries, not crispy,, horribly sweet.

Matcha I had one sip of once, horrible

I love Aperol spritz and also Campari spritz.

Theunamedcat · 23/05/2025 21:49

PlutoCat · 23/05/2025 21:46

Burgers in brioche buns. Just no.

AGREED

Also hot dogs in brioche buns wtf thought that up

Verydemure · 23/05/2025 21:50

I have loved cottage cheese since the 80’s - so glad it’s having a comeback.

also love Aperol spritz ( no more than 1) , sourdough and rum and raisin ice cream, so I’m not pretending on those!

I came here to say Oysters. I’m not averse to them but can’t really see what the fuss is about but they seem to be enjoying a renaissance - the oyster places in borough market and queued round the block!

5-10 years ago, the oyster places were always reasonably quiet. Mainly frequented by the older crowd who liked them in the 70’s

Hardly think wine belongs on here unless your idea of a trend is one that goes back to biblical times

An abomination!

Chickenhorse · 23/05/2025 21:53

Crack eggs, whisk add spinach and cheese. Put in muffin cases and bake in the oven, there you have baked cheese and spinach muffins. NO NO you don’t! You have mini baked omelettes! And all the other things people say are egg muffins or my other favourite no sugar cakes rammed full of banana, dried fruit etc, which is NOT no sugar.

ScrambledSmegs · 23/05/2025 21:53

YellowOrangePink · 23/05/2025 21:43

Negronis

Now I was coming on to say Aperol is far too sweet for me and I love a Campari spritz or a Negroni. I adore bitter foods though, my favourite fruit is grapefruit.

Cottage cheese - I just can't. I know loads of people rave about it at the moment but it looks like baby sick.

Chick981 · 23/05/2025 21:53

I love Aperol spritz. And Campari spritz which is even more bitter.

Matcha tea for me.

sprigatito · 23/05/2025 21:54

Bubble tea. Those nasty rubbery little fuckers are repugnant and I refuse to believe anyone really wants them in a drink.

Grim. Far too sweet and fluffy. 🤢

Jobsworth7 · 23/05/2025 21:55

I was going to say matcha even though I am addicted to the Nespresso pods in oat milk. They don't taste nice so why do I like it?

Archaea · 23/05/2025 21:35

Dried lemon slices in drinks instead of fresh.

I was with you on this until I had a LIFE CHANGING vodka and tonic and three swigs sips in I was on Amazon ordering them. And giant ice cubes.

FastnetLundyRockall · 23/05/2025 21:48

Kimchi

Yes I just can't like it and I feel like I should lol. Like I love fermented things, saurkraut, kombucha, sourdough.. but I just can't like kimchi

IndianaIndiana · 23/05/2025 21:56

Air fryers. I don't understand. I have an oven, the food is lovely. I don't have to wash it everytime I use it. I don't need to find work top or cupboard space for it.

I'm happy to be convinced otherwise but no one has been able to really explain the advantages to me so far!
