Bananararity · 17/05/2025 16:20

90% of my work shores are from Clarks and have been for years. I get this is a collaboration but honestly? Or am I really out of touch and this is what I need to be wearing.

Absolutely love the shade of blue though.

Omg! They are just awful. Emperors new clothes and all that.

ERthree · 17/05/2025 20:09

WTAF ! they look like crap from nasty website. If this is where Clarks are going no wonder they are going under. My husband and i only every buy Clarks ( unless it is new wellies) Between us we must have 40 pairs, we buy all of our Grandchildren's shoes from there. Looks like i will have to find somewhere else.

Thindog · 17/05/2025 20:10

I think most people will vote with their feet and walk away.

Pipsballoon · 17/05/2025 20:13

I must finally be officially old, I have realised, because I am appalled and simply baffled.....

Noshadelamp · 17/05/2025 20:14

They are advertising and working really well considering this thread!

At the same time, I love the creativity and audacity.

RumAndDietCoke · 17/05/2025 20:16

They’re revolting.

Picoloangel · 17/05/2025 20:17

Coming soon to Clarks Outlet…

Todayisaday · 17/05/2025 20:22

It's givinflg Blue Steel Derelicte, but then so does Balenciaga 😂

Pebbles16 · 17/05/2025 20:24

Blue is not my colour, but I will look out for similarly ridiculous in the sales. And the only reason I keep Clarks on my radar is they make size 3 shoes (which are like hen's teeth)

LillyPJ · 17/05/2025 20:31

'Intentionally distressed' - it's as ridiculous as buying jeans with holes in. I'm glad I'm not bothered by fashion.

Shetlands · 17/05/2025 21:26

These shoes are part of a psychology research project to measure gullibility amongst those fashionistas who claim superiority in artistic appreciation. All buyers will receive a free gift of a chocolate teapot and an invitation to purchase some limited edition striped paint.

ohyesido · 17/05/2025 21:46

Hideous

JohnAmendAll · 17/05/2025 22:03

I can honestly say that is the ugliest piece of footwear I have ever seen. Male or female.

Annascaul · 17/05/2025 22:05

Are they supposed to look like two different shoes clumsily grafted together?
Is that a look?!

Someone2025 · 17/05/2025 22:16

Bananararity · 17/05/2025 16:55

I’m actually angered by them. If they were the usual court shoe they do in that colour with a heel I’d have bought them - probably two of them. But they’ve taken something that usually sells and made it look as though it’s been jammed in a door. Any they trebled the price.

Who is the target market here?

That’s a bit of an over action, no one is forcing you to buy them.
Surely they still have the regular court shoes if you want to buy them

Bananararity · 17/05/2025 22:38

Just to clarify the the reference to being angered by them…

I have the Clarks Kaylin heeled courts in every colour. I am on my third pair of the black suede and I have stockpiled another three pairs for future use. When I saw the blue leather shoe I was excited because I thought that they had a lovely blue version of my usual shoe. They did not. I was a little bit angry.

For generations Clark’s have offered a middle of the road type of shoe. For me, they are the M&S of the shoe world. When I saw the shoes it felt as though I had wondered across something crotchless in the lingerie section in M&S. Not something that would have offended just caught me off guard. I was probably angry with myself for being unprepared to face what was out there.

If they don’t diversify a bit they will go out of business

There have a shop on a very popular shopping street in Dublin and anytime I walk past it there is absolutely no one in it…

Peaceandquietandacuppa · 17/05/2025 22:46

They’re exactly what I would expect from Martine Rose shoes. Not for the regular Clarks audience, but rather people who would usually buy from Martine Rose or similar.

Jabberwok · 17/05/2025 22:50

The hilarious thing with Clark's is how badly they are run. A friend was working for them as a consultant in the head office. They had access to the staff supply and discount. So she ordered a pair for her aunt to pick up from store...New scheme click and collect, 10 years after everyone else was doing it. The store refused to give Aunty the shoes. They knew nothing about the scheme and, even though it was evident the shoes were paid for and had her name on wouldn't release them.
A few weeks later I went on line and saw a pair of desert boots I liked. Their website. My friend couldn't get any. They didn't have any in the country....

ninjahamster · 17/05/2025 22:50

Look like they’ve not been made properly. Not a fan of Clark’s though, I always see them as old people’s shoes!

Busybeemumm · 17/05/2025 22:57

Size 3 in the blue are sold out. C'mon admit it- who got them?!😅

notacooldad · 17/05/2025 22:58

Probably the worst shoe i have ever seen in my life
Oh i don't know, Hotter have plenty of shoes that are also contenders for the worse shoe award. At least these have a bit of personality about them, even if you don't like them.

No. They're not.

@notacooldad Agree completely.

I am intrigued by who Clark's think their core customer is.

Because I think the ppl who buy Clarke's shoes often prioritise comfort over fashion and I can't think they will sell many in that price range.

People who buy shoes like that don't shop at Clark's and people who shop at Clark's don't generally buy shoes like that!!

It's their second collaboration with Martine Rose so presumably the first one did sell.
