Clarks WTAF?

Bananararity · 17/05/2025 16:20

90% of my work shores are from Clarks and have been for years. I get this is a collaboration but honestly? Or am I really out of touch and this is what I need to be wearing.

Absolutely love the shade of blue though.

I read that she was a consultant for Balenciaga, so I would say there will definitely be people out there that will buy them.

FofB · 17/05/2025 18:22

I live near a Clarks Outlet Store. I'll watch this thread and come back to update when they, inevitably, make their way into it......

Hwi · 17/05/2025 18:23

As you say, WTAF?

Goes with their bondage teddy-bears. Ghastly.

Viviennemary · 17/05/2025 18:25

It looks like an April fool. Have the shoes grown mould or fur.

Padloque · 17/05/2025 18:28

I wonder how many they’ve actually made? Be interesting to know what the initial production run was - probably extremely limited, so very few will end up in the outlet, if all the people who love them, snap them up.

SALaw · 17/05/2025 18:29

Why would you need to be wearing them? Why do they anger you? You’re allowed to just not want something on sale at a shop!

ChocolateGanache · 17/05/2025 18:33

They look broken.

deeahgwitch · 17/05/2025 18:37

They are the ripped jeans of shoes 🙄

whycantibeselfishforonce · 17/05/2025 18:44

Very Emperor's New Clothes! haha ridiculous!

Littlemiracles232504 · 17/05/2025 18:46

They look like something my 3 year old would bring home from nursery!
anyone daft enough to pay that pricetag deserves to walk around looking like a knob tbh

Avatartar · 17/05/2025 18:51

Looks like half finished sample accidentally ended up on the table and being snapped up by a buyer as being on trend, then out into production

MissMuffetsTuffet · 17/05/2025 18:57

It's.. DERELICTE!

JorgyPorgy · 17/05/2025 18:57

They look like they’re falling apart

notacooldad · 17/05/2025 18:57

I’m actually angered by them.
Why though,if they are not for you fine.

But this is just some kind of experimental art in shoe form

Of course it is, and that not a bad thing. Try something a bit different and it may or may not fly. Better than same old, same old.

godmum56 · 17/05/2025 18:58

Bananararity · 17/05/2025 16:55

I’m actually angered by them. If they were the usual court shoe they do in that colour with a heel I’d have bought them - probably two of them. But they’ve taken something that usually sells and made it look as though it’s been jammed in a door. Any they trebled the price.

Who is the target market here?

you are angered by shoes???

BIossomtoes · 17/05/2025 19:01

To be honest, they’re no more ridiculous than those sheepskin Birkenstocks that have been around for a while now.

Gonners · 17/05/2025 19:03

Arf! Someone should warn them that their website has been hacked.

PetaltotheMedal · 17/05/2025 19:07

I haven't clicked on the link but going by the reactions I'm wondering if they've gone down the Jaguar route, whatever that was. I'm not interested enough to remember but it did get folk talking.

Wavescrashingonthebeach · 17/05/2025 19:17

Probably the worst shoe i have ever seen in my life

RedRoss86 · 17/05/2025 19:52

Showcases time-tested techniques ..
Yeh would you like to use those techniques and finish the shoe eh Clarks 🤔😅

'Martine Rose for Clarks court shoe features a functional, intentionally distressed design which showcases time-tested techniques. Exposed seams reveal the shoe’s multiple inner layers for a utilitarian look, contrasting with bold, tactile croc-embossed blue leathers. An archival Sachetto construction method and authentic stitching captures the commitment to comfort and craft which underpins every pair in the Coming Up Roses collection.'

pizzaHeart · 17/05/2025 19:56

They claim that it’s a functional design 😂😂😂
I do wear a lot of Clarks footwear but Im definitely not their target market for these shoes, even if they were on sale with 90% off.
What a waste of a lovely blue leather.

Boutonnière · 17/05/2025 20:04

It’s got art school fashion course degree show written all over it to me - I used to attend many of these professionally.

nomas · 17/05/2025 20:05

They would get ruined in the rain. More money than sense,

bridgetreilly · 17/05/2025 20:07

I don’t wear heels but I actually kind of love them.
