90% of my work shores are from Clarks and have been for years. I get this is a collaboration but honestly? Or am I really out of touch and this is what I need to be wearing.

Absolutely love the shade of blue though.

It's giving broken shoe vibes

CillaBlackSmith · 17/05/2025 16:28

Won't people think they're 'seconds' as they look unfinished?
Rather expensive seconds!

PaperBlinds · 17/05/2025 16:31

!!! The price! And also I feel really old - I don't understand what is going on at the back. They look like they are meant to look like they don't fit?

5foot5 · 17/05/2025 16:33

I have never paid that much for a pair of shoes in my life. And these are just awful!

RhannionKPSS · 17/05/2025 16:36

Oh dear..those are terrible

EsmeQuibbles · 17/05/2025 16:46

I doubt that they will shift many, even in a sale. They are awful.

Bananararity · 17/05/2025 16:55

I’m actually angered by them. If they were the usual court shoe they do in that colour with a heel I’d have bought them - probably two of them. But they’ve taken something that usually sells and made it look as though it’s been jammed in a door. Any they trebled the price.

Who is the target market here?

LoveTKO · 17/05/2025 16:57

Haha they’re mental. Clarks should stick to what they do best. That’s their USP.

UnctuousUnicorns · 17/05/2025 16:59

What a pile of pretentious utter wank that description is. 😅

Pudmyboy · 17/05/2025 17:09

Agree it's horrible. And that the colour (and the upper itself) are nice. But, noooooo! Nasty

Mingenious · 17/05/2025 17:11

If I’m spending 250 quid on shoes I’m
not going to Clarkes. They are a lovely colour, shame they look like they were someone’s first attempt at making shoes.

RatOfTheHighway · 17/05/2025 17:13

They look like a toddler has worn them and scuffed them endlessly in a playground.
and for that price too, more money than sense to the people who buy those!

Tagyoureit · 17/05/2025 17:16

If those had actually been finished properly, they would be lovely but they look like what you'd get from temu!! Awful!

Padloque · 17/05/2025 17:19

Grim. Clarks used to do fabulous collabs: I still bring out the Liberty print wedges I impulse bought in approx 1654 because they were just so beautiful. This, not so much.

Moveoverdarlin · 17/05/2025 17:20

Bloody awful.

Gardenbumblebee · 17/05/2025 17:21

Where was all this 'intentionally distressed' clothing when I was young and poor? I wore my shoes until they literally fell to pieces. I would have been well fashionable.

MissScarletInTheBallroom · 17/05/2025 17:23

On the plus side, if anyone here does actually like them, they'll be £25 in the sale eventually.

DejaMooo · 17/05/2025 17:24

They look like a school project

Optimist1 · 17/05/2025 17:26

UnctuousUnicorns · 17/05/2025 16:59

Agreed. A likely contender for Pseuds Corner in Private Eye!

They haven't been doing what they do best for a long time now.

That's my shoe budget for ~4 years or so.

Muffinmam · 17/05/2025 17:28

Who would buy these??

The nails on the heal are exposed so you couldn’t wear these on floorboards as they would damage them. You shouldn’t wear on certain stone, either.

CertainUncertain · 17/05/2025 17:29

Hiding under furniture, but I actually like them, although not enough to go buy them as I don't have much occasion to wear court shoes.

Martine Rose is an interesting designer with an atypical background, but as far as I know only usually does menswear. Interesting collaboration.

*Didn't read the description but have no trouble believing it's a bunch of pretension.

MrsMitford3 · 17/05/2025 17:35

I am intrigued by who Clark's think their core customer is.

Because I think the ppl who buy Clarke's shoes often prioritise comfort over fashion and I can't think they will sell many in that price range.

People who buy shoes like that don't shop at Clark's and people who shop at Clark's don't generally buy shoes like that!!

Padloque · 17/05/2025 17:19

You're certainly getting your money's worth out of them if you've had them for nearly 400 years and I bet they still don't look as battered as that Clark shoe!

AddictedToBooks · 17/05/2025 17:45

Oh my! They're hideous.
