To have complained about today’s episode of Loose Women

WithYou47 · 15/05/2025 20:44

My DH thinks IABU but I’m adamant this was inappropriate.

Loose Women had a ‘dummy’ of a man’s bottom on their show earlier and one of the presenters/guests inserted their finger where the sun doesn’t shine.

I was eating lunch at the time and found this extremely unbecoming for that time of the day.

I expect my complaint will fall on deaf ears, but it’s worth a go.

OP posts:

Imagine if a male presenter did that to a "female" dummy. Ffs everyone would be calling them all sorts. They are so sexist and hypocritical on that program..I don't watch it anymore. Why do you watch it? Lol

Edited

RTFT. It wasn't a female presenter, it was a MALE DOCTOR doing a section on men's health with a male presenter, demonstrating what happens at a male cancer screening appointment. He also showed men how to check themselves for male breast cancer and testicular cancer.

I have absolutely seen doctors on daytime TV using a dummy to demonstrate to women how to examine their breasts for lumps. This is exactly the same.

The OP knew this full well (someone has posted the clip above, there is no way she could have mistaken it for anything sexual) but is posting for attention just like she's done in her previous threads.

I wouldn't expect to see that on lunchtime TV either tbh. My comment could also standalone "they are very sexist and hypocritical on that program".

When should it be on tv then?

I've even seen a male doctor (might have been Hillary Jones) demonstrating on a woman how to check their breasts. No big deal whatsoever & could potentially save lives

I'm going to send an email to say how great and educational the segment was to cancel out your complaint

Haven't you had an exciting couple of weeks of complaints!

First off, someone tried to get you bent over a desk. Next, a rubber model was having fingers forced up it's bottom!

I'm glad that your eyes didn't melt/burn with what you saw and that you managed to soldier on with your complaining. It must have been incredibly terrifying and traumatic for you to watch grown men spreading awareness about prostate cancer! How dare they! How dare they try to save somebodies life.

And on your tv too! That's not on. Is the tv feeling OK? Will it need therapy in future? You haven't noticed it acting any differently, have you?

And your dh? Is he OK? Has he helped write the complaint again? How has he coped with that?

I hope that you get the answers you truly deserve and that you can move on from these pathetic traumatic times.

We’ll all be eating our words next week when op is, once again, fully vindicated with a personal, unreserved apology from the LW crew for the revolting display of potentially life saving titillation whilst she tried to eat her egg sandwich.
Then we can all go back to finding out what Denise Welch thinks about Botox…

Will this complaint warrant a champagne toast, do you think?
If I remember correctly, the thought of op bent over a desk turned her dh on (eventually). Maybe he will suggest putting her own finger up his bottom if he starts getting a bit horny over this complaint...

I remember having a crush on Craig Doyle 20+ years ago. He has aged like fine wine. 54!

Yeah, he's lovely 😍

TY78910 · 16/05/2025 15:06

@Throwmoneyatit omg I forgot about the champagne!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

SwingTheMonkey · 16/05/2025 15:19

I feel this sort of vindication is more an ‘open top bus parade’ type of situation.

Noodlehen · 16/05/2025 16:15

Some could do with a good bending over a desk or a finger up the bum to loosen them up a bit.

YABVVVVU.

Pricelessadvice · 16/05/2025 18:22

Ah, you’re one of those serial complainers. I suggest you get a hobby or something.

WithYou47 · 15/05/2025 21:56

I was channel hopping at the time - how was I to know it was to do with that subject? I’d even argue then it was inappropriate.

Given the normal tone of the show I assumed it was a sexual discussion and they were demonstrating a prostate massage for sexual
purposes.

You thought a prostate massage for sexual purposes was on DAYTIME tv ?!?!

FFS! GET A GRIP OF YOURSELF!

Tarrybankheidi · 16/05/2025 18:33

😆 some of the posters getting worked up over a plastic dummy. Its given me a giggle

OP appears to think everything is about sex though.

Her life must be like being stuck in an endless Carry On movie.

I've never watched LW, or any daytime TV other than when I was on MAT leave, but I certainly wouldn't get worked up about a segment covering men's health. It's not like they had a real man standing there with a doc doing the examination up his bum on live TV (and even then I wouldn't be bothered). it's an essential part of health care, as are smear tests etc.

I'm sorry if it upset or offended you OP, but I do feel it's important for things like that to be discussed opebly so it's the norm. Imagine how many lives could be saved. Even just one!

Pretty sure Adam Hills had a prostrate exam live on TV (though screened off) but that was on a Stand Up To Cancer special (though this was also a men's health special so not surprising)

There’s nothing wrong with complaining - heck, I raised one recently which had people up in arms on here but I turned out to be vindicated when it was upheld!

Og you're the teacher posters aren't you...

Did the other ridiculous thread get deleted? I’d love a read but can’t find it!

It was 3 threads and it was INSANE
I knew OP seemed familiar
Holding on to the voting despite the drip feeds
Being outraged even when pointed out they were wrong
Thinking "sorry you feel that way" is an unreserved apology

In keeping with that thread, OP'S DH will almost definitely suggest some role play as the doctor and a dummy

That man also deserves a medal

The original 'pervy teacher' one was deleted.

I don't like to read sequels without reading the original so I'm none the wiser.

HuffleMyPuffle · 16/05/2025 19:57

Aw the first one got deleted?

OP was out at a pub/club with a friend when a man came over. The man used to teacher her DC but not at the school they were now at. He made a comment about having fantasies about bending her over the desk. OP was horrified. Her friend went "excuse me?", they walked off and that was it. OP then stalked him online (she found his FB profile) and discovered he still taught at the same school. She complained to the school and they basically said "he's not on school property and you aren't a current parent so not our problem". OP didn't feel this was good enough so complained to the governors. She wanted an apology for how it was handled, not for what had actually been said.

It then turned into a 3 thread saga where she also stalked the Chair of Governors, got a suspiciously quick reply saying "we are sorry you felt it wasn't handled right" and ended up feeling vindicated and then proceeded to make lots of jokes about celebrating with champagne, going out for a meal, roleplaying with her husband...

Thrown into this was the 2nd thread where the poor teacher became a pedophile who thought about bending schoolgirls over, a rapist who sexually assaulted her and plenty of other misreading.

It was wild

And it seems OP now feels like a moral justice crusader, defending the world of her perceived wrongs

Deanthebean · 16/05/2025 20:00

I've seen women having breast exams and smears LIVE on this morning and here you are having a mental crisis over a rubber bum hole being poked on loose women. ....
