To have complained about today’s episode of Loose Women

WithYou47 · 15/05/2025 20:44

My DH thinks IABU but I’m adamant this was inappropriate.

Loose Women had a ‘dummy’ of a man’s bottom on their show earlier and one of the presenters/guests inserted their finger where the sun doesn’t shine.

I was eating lunch at the time and found this extremely unbecoming for that time of the day.

I expect my complaint will fall on deaf ears, but it’s worth a go.

I had an unreserved apology both verbally and in writing.

You didn’t though did you

There’s nothing wrong with complaining - heck, I raised one recently which had people up in arms on here but I turned out to be vindicated when it was upheld!

Still not admitting you're embarrassingly wrong, and NO-ONE agrees with you. Your first post literally said there was one of the Loose Women shoving their finger up a plastic model of a man's bumhole. Making out they were doing it for a laugh, and pissing about and being 'rude!' You asked AIBU to have complained about it?

On further investigation, it turned out to be a group of MEN on there (for the Loose Men version of Loose Women) who are illustrating how a prostate examination is done - on a fake, plastic bum For the purpose of helping men take care of their health and well-being.

Completely different to how you had painted the story. Some people when they first voted were responding to your first (very misleading) post, that had a completely different scenario to what actually happened, and THAT is why the voting is not representative of what people really think. YOU CAN CHANGE YOUR VOTE BY THE WAY EVERYONE if you want to change it.

No-one is supporting you @WithYou47 , everyone thinks you are being unreasonable and ridiculous. And you are doing yourself NO FAVOURS by doubling down and refusing to admit you're wrong, and you are continuing to post ridiculous posts.

Seriously @WithYou47 You are 100% embarrassing yourself here, and you can't even see it. What the hell are you playing at? 😂

I usually find complainers have too much time on their hands/no real problems in life to complain about. When you’re faced with real life issues, especially health, it usually gives you a great perspective on the smaller things.

For the OP to not just complain but then go on a forum (which can be generally helpful for alot of genuine problems), and make a fuss over a section of a programme promoting cancer awareness is just plain sad. I hope her family doesn’t experience men’s cancer as ours has and im going to make sure I share that section of the programme on social media today. Perhaps everyone could do a similar thing or post on the Loose Women fb page how brilliant it was they showed that.

My Dad had cancer of the prostate and I am glad shows such as this do these segments. Who knows who may have been watching who will now go and have one. It could well save their life.

There is too much stigma and embarressment over our general health. People like Dame Deborah James made it acceptable and normal (as it is) to talk about your poo and your bowels. And we have great awareness for women on checking your boobs and what to look for. Why shouldn't we also talk about men and prostate cancer?

Good for Loose Men, I think its great that they showed this.

That's simply because of the way you framed the query. You didn't state it was an article about detecting prostate cancer , and instead the inference was that it was on for shock/ titillation/ amusement purposes. Well done !!

P.s. you're the only arse in this saga !!

😆 😂

Are you the poster who says she can’t help complaining and has been asked to change GP surgeries?

Do something useful with your life and learn to write accurately and factually. The voting doesn't reflect what apparently happened)I didn't watch the programme).

No, I had an educational professional make an unsolicited sexual remark to me.

100% this. I don't know why you are not listening to people telling you that you're wrong about this @WithYou47 and refusing to back down and admit you're wrong, and have spectacularly messed this up. But it's a bit odd, and I've had enough of you. So I'm out.

Oh FFS, you’re THAT poster?

You need to take a good long look in the mirror and ask yourself what’s missing in your life that’s left you so desperately gagging for attention that you resort to this.

FreezeDriedStrawberries · 16/05/2025 09:54

WithYou47 · 15/05/2025 22:02

My complaint stands - it didn’t need a graphic demonstration!

Er, no it doesn't still stand imo if you complained because you came into a programme halfway through, assumed it was a "weird sexual massage" and put a complaint in without having a clue what it really was about! (Men's health, on a men's version of the show which they do occasionally do)

Oh, you're that poster.
Pointless then, will leave you to it.
Hope others do the same.

Oh hey I forgot about that! 😂 🐸 (Sorry I was looking for a spem emoji but couldn't find one, so I searched for tadpole, and the closest I got was frog.) 😂

🤣, steady! OP might be having her breakfast.

KimberleyClark · 16/05/2025 10:03

Occasionally catch a glimpse of Loose Women when we switch on at lunchtime but have never been tempted to sit down and watch a whole episode. We watch an episode of Pointless on iPlayer over lunch instead. Give me Alexander Armstrong any time.

JoyousEagle · 16/05/2025 09:25

Ahh that was it. I knew there was something to do with a poster complaining to a school about something everyone thought was ridiculous. This has the same feel to it.

It does. Same defensive stance and unwavering conviction that they are right, along with an excessive moral high ground and drip feeding small facts that counter any alternative positions.
The style of writing is very similar too. I think this is their weekly entertainment.

ClareBlue · 16/05/2025 10:17

Update is that it is the same poster.

Really?

You've name changed so we cannot see which one that was - One would assume you mean the ridiculous teacher on a night out thread, which was clearly a complete overreaction on your part

Arraminta · 16/05/2025 10:29

Loose Women typically has a collective IQ of around 65.

SwingTheMonkey · 16/05/2025 10:34

Did the other ridiculous thread get deleted? I’d love a read but can’t find it!

I don't know but you need to trust me on this...you REALLY do not want to read it. Absolute bollocks from start to finish and not even clever or funny bollocks. Just shrivelled empty withered ballsack bollocks.

thisisfrommathilda · 16/05/2025 11:07

Oh God I remember you OP. Luckily you don't need a prostate exam because your arse is clenched so hard it would be impossible. Nobody agrees with you Captain Complainer! Get a life.

Ellejay67 · 16/05/2025 11:10

Imagine if a male presenter did that to a "female" dummy. Ffs everyone would be calling them all sorts. They are so sexist and hypocritical on that program..I don't watch it anymore. Why do you watch it? Lol

Edited

But it was a male doctor doing it to a ‘male’ dummy. They were all men. It was Loose Men. So your equivalent would be ‘imagine if a female doctor demonstrated a smear test on a female dummy’. Loses a bit of the outrage, doesn’t it?

This thread is full of people not reading anything beyond the very disingenuous and purposely so OP.

I wouldn't expect to see that on lunchtime TV either tbh. My comment could also standalone "they are very sexist and hypocritical on that program".
