To have complained about today’s episode of Loose Women

WithYou47 · 15/05/2025 20:44

My DH thinks IABU but I’m adamant this was inappropriate.

Loose Women had a ‘dummy’ of a man’s bottom on their show earlier and one of the presenters/guests inserted their finger where the sun doesn’t shine.

I was eating lunch at the time and found this extremely unbecoming for that time of the day.

I expect my complaint will fall on deaf ears, but it’s worth a go.

How pathetic.

Even if you were channel hopping it was obvious what was going on. It was an important message for men. So many men put off going to the doctor to get their prostate checked because they don’t want a finger up the bum, but this showed them that it’s quick and easy. If it helps just one get to the doctors, it’s worth it imo.

And for balance, Vanessa Feltz had a mammogram live on This Morning a few months back. If that encouraged some women to go then that’s great too.

I was channel hopping at the time - how was I to know it was to do with that subject? I’d even argue then it was inappropriate.

Given the normal tone of the show I assumed it was a sexual discussion and they were demonstrating a prostate massage for sexual
purposes.

So you are so sex obsessed that you interpreted a demonstration on a mannikin of an incredibly common medical examination technique as a sex act. Pretty sure the problem is with you.

Pippa12 · 15/05/2025 22:31

My DH has been very unwell recently which resulted in him needing a PR examination. This blind sided him, he didn’t know this examination was ‘a thing’ and was mortified.

I wish he’d of seen this this as I’m sure he’d of been more comfortable with the situation if he’d of had some prior knowledge!

PinkArt · 15/05/2025 22:32

JoyousEagle · 15/05/2025 22:24

I seem to remember This Morning (or good morning Britain maybe) doing a segment where they showed a dr checking the testicles of a man facing the camera, just holding his penis in his hand to the side so it couldn’t be seen, but testicles fully visible.

OP would’ve needed smelling salts.

They also showed Vanessa Feltz having a live mammogram recently. As someone who isn't at testing age yet, but lost my mum to breast cancer and so will definitely take up the invite, it was useful to see the process ahead of time.

Pricelessadvice · 15/05/2025 22:32

OP, how about you find out exactly what you’re complaining about in future, rather than making a rash decision to be outraged when you haven’t actually got a clue what it is you are seeing.

Good grief, these people walk among us!

TiggyTomCat · 15/05/2025 22:34

Haven't watched that coven since the Coleen Nolan v Kim Woodbury episode. Can't bear their self righteous pontificating.

TheWickerHare · 15/05/2025 22:35

I wouldn't have thought people who use terms like 'extremely unbecoming' in a non ironic way would be the type to watch Loose Women.

JoyousEagle · 15/05/2025 22:35

GravyBoatWars · 15/05/2025 22:28

I assumed it was a sexual discussion and they were demonstrating a prostate massage for sexual purposes.

Goodness, OP. You see a clip with a doctor - wearing an exam glove - explaining a medical exam with a clear banner across the screen indicating that the segment is explaining what happens in a prostate exam as part of a health clinic topic and you start thinking of sex acts? This preoccupation seems like maybe something to discuss in therapy instead of trying to make it someone else's problem.

Exactly, it’s obvious what was happening.

Plus, how likely is it that ITV at lunchtime will have a mannequin to demonstrate a sexual act?? Does loose women normally cover sex tips with demonstrations?

God knows what OP assumes is going on if she’s channel hoping and stumbles across someone with a banana.

SilviaSnuffleBum · 15/05/2025 22:35

WithYou47 · 15/05/2025 22:02

My complaint stands - it didn’t need a graphic demonstration!

You sound absolutely ridiculous.

Gloriia · 15/05/2025 20:49

LW is an embarrassment for women imo. What could be an interesting show with some intelligent women is just reduced to a shrieking whooping joke. I like Janet SP and Christine Lampard, the rest omg just stfu!

Like them as well but they are proper journalists

Flyswats · 15/05/2025 22:40

That photo shows the rubber bum. It doesn't even look like a bum.

Thedogscollar · 15/05/2025 22:40

Could you be any more ignorant than your OP?
Yep you just were. * *

MrsClatterbuck · 15/05/2025 22:40

Also I miss Stephs Big lunch which was more enjoyable and had a bit more gravitas imo

This. She needs to turn off pornhub and realise real life isn't like that

whitewineandsun · 15/05/2025 22:48

Banmooo · 15/05/2025 21:58

You made weird assumptions because you missed the start and then complained?

Are you for real?

This is peak MN. YABVU, OP.

Gymnopedie · 15/05/2025 22:55

I assumed it was a sexual discussion and they were demonstrating a prostate massage for sexual purposes.

If only pearl clutching was an Olympic sport.

We'd be a shoo-in for gold.🏅

Blogswife · 15/05/2025 22:57

This post is so ridiculous. This is why so many men don’t get checked out - ignorance and embarrassment. It was only a plastic model fgs !

Ellephanting · 15/05/2025 23:02

Years ago LW was ok but these days I can’t watch it. I watch Homes Under the Hammer or Love it or List it.

GoodQueenBess · 15/05/2025 23:04

@LikeWhoUsesTypewritersAnyway , Thanks for the link to the show. I thought it got the tone right.

EastGrinstead · 15/05/2025 23:06

What a mind-bogglingly stupid OP.

DelphiniumDoreen · 15/05/2025 23:18

I’m really looking forward to episode where Mortimer and Whitehouse discuss and demonstrate how to do a vaginal examination on a rubber fanny. Because we all know men are interested in women’s health.

Meanwhile in the real world…..

BobbyBiscuits · 15/05/2025 23:20

I didn't think the demographic for that show were men so it seems more like they're doing it to be OTT and get women to have a laugh about men's bodies? They'll say it's got a serious health message is what they'll no doubt allege but everyone knows what a bum hole is, and how to stick something up it? So yeah, it's totally unnecessary.

The programme was Loose Men and themed around men’s health. Not there for women to giggle at. And most women take men’s health really seriously because they don’t want their partners and sons to, you know, die unnecessarily and all that.

Pinepeak2434 · 15/05/2025 23:30

Makes a change from Nadia Sawalha lifting up her top to expose her breasts.

Real life absolutely is like that and that act isn’t a particularly porny thing at all. Daytime TV, however, is not like that, so the OP is obviously still being ridiculous and weird.
