To have complained about today’s episode of Loose Women

WithYou47 · 15/05/2025 20:44

My DH thinks IABU but I’m adamant this was inappropriate.

Loose Women had a ‘dummy’ of a man’s bottom on their show earlier and one of the presenters/guests inserted their finger where the sun doesn’t shine.

I was eating lunch at the time and found this extremely unbecoming for that time of the day.

I expect my complaint will fall on deaf ears, but it’s worth a go.

I think it's called her opinion, which is what is required on a talk board. 😳

That doesn’t mean it’s of any value.

WayneEyre · 16/05/2025 08:15

Jc2001 · 15/05/2025 21:18

Either way it wasn't rape because it was a dummy.

All sounds a bit gross though.

Why? Sounds like an examination off camera to raise awareness and one off camera on mannequin. What's gross about the human body? Are cervical exams etc gross?OP is weird.

Well 1 in 2 of you clearly agree with me given the voting!

Those people clearly voted on the basis of your op. Which turned out to be garbage.

Well 1 in 2 of you clearly agree with me given the voting!

That's simply because of the way you framed the query. You didn't state it was an article about detecting prostate cancer , and instead the inference was that it was on for shock/ titillation/ amusement purposes. Well done !!

P.s. you're the only arse in this saga !!

Well 1 in 2 of you clearly agree with me given the voting!

So ask MN to edit your original post to state that this all happened as part of an awareness raising prostrate examination.

See how the voting goes then.

Reminds me to change my vote as I had voted on the basis of your OP.

After the dripfeed, YABU.

Men are notorious for not going to the doctors, especially for such examinations.

If it saves a life, it's worth being shown.

TooGoodToGoto · 16/05/2025 08:28

Because your posts gave all the wrong info, once it was corrected by sensible posters, I reckon no more votes went your way!

Have you retracted the complaint, told your DH he was right?

rwalker · 16/05/2025 08:33

It was relevant to the subject

but the show is as the say “ of it’s time “
there’s often breathtaking double standards the way they take about men if it was men being the same about women there’d be an outcry

By your thinking, I sexually assault the mannequins at work every time I change their clothes. Some parts are just easier to hold when lifting them.

I hope the mannequins are in a union.

ConnieHeart · 16/05/2025 08:40

WithYou47 · 15/05/2025 21:56

I was channel hopping at the time - how was I to know it was to do with that subject? I’d even argue then it was inappropriate.

Given the normal tone of the show I assumed it was a sexual discussion and they were demonstrating a prostate massage for sexual
purposes.

Then you shouldn't complain if you don't know what it was about! I found the whole episode to be quite informative

WithYou47 · 16/05/2025 08:49

There’s nothing wrong with complaining - heck, I raised one recently which had people up in arms on here but I turned out to be vindicated when it was upheld!

Imagine having the pure brass neck to double down with that when you've omitted vital contextual information and misled people in the OP.

Think I might start my own thread.

"AIBU to think people should not make a lot of noise in the street at 3am?"

Vote: 100% YANBU.

ANOTHER POSTER: The noise came from the a fleet of fire engines putting out a towering inferno in a neighbouring building.

ME: Oh but voters clearly agree with me!

andweallloveclover · 16/05/2025 08:50

YABU to complain. Why do people feel the need to complain constantly about things? If you don't like it just turn the bloody TV over.

It was Loose Men today and they were talking about prostate cancer and showing what happens in an examination. They are raising awareness for it and trying to get rid of the stigma and the possible embarressment that men may feel going for one. Good for them.

Ah, so you're a serial (or cereal, more like) complainer. 💡

My thoughts exactly 😂
Also acknowledgement of your complaint and a ‘sorry you feel that way’ is not the same as upheld.

I had an unreserved apology both verbally and in writing.

I usually find complainers have too much time on their hands/no real problems in life to complain about. When you’re faced with real life issues, especially health, it usually gives you a great perspective on the smaller things.

For the OP to not just complain but then go on a forum (which can be generally helpful for alot of genuine problems), and make a fuss over a section of a programme promoting cancer awareness is just plain sad. I hope her family doesn’t experience men’s cancer as ours has and im going to make sure I share that section of the programme on social media today. Perhaps everyone could do a similar thing or post on the Loose Women fb page how brilliant it was they showed that.

No one disagreed with the fact that you complained about the text, it was all the other hysterical behaviour that people thought was ridiculous

Are you the complain to school lady about the teachers sexual comments?!!

Ahh that was it. I knew there was something to do with a poster complaining to a school about something everyone thought was ridiculous. This has the same feel to it.

Don't watch This Morning OP, they had a sperm race the other week just for fun.

Both shows are embarrassing but also informative on health matters.

Everyday is a school day for someone out there.

Oh hey I forgot about that! 😂 🐸 (Sorry I was looking for a spem emoji but couldn't find one, so I searched for tadpole, and the closest I got was frog.) 😂
