To think forced starvation is just plain evil!

On the BBC today. The UN has condemned using man made starvation as a war tactic. Surely we can come to a general consensus that whatever you think about the conflict, Israel's actions here are just plain evil?

That’s not what that article says though does it? It uses the word ‘routinely’ which doesn’t mean Hamas doesn’t steal aid. Especially as;

Hamas operatives have routinely boasted of selling UN packages online. Filming themselves taking aid trucks and being caught on CCTV.

hostages such as Eli Sharabi testified to the UN that he had seen Hamas
"I know you discuss the humanitarian situation in Gaza very often, but let me tell you as an eyewitness, I saw what happened to that aid: Hamas stole it."
"I saw Hamas terrorists carrying boxes with the UN and
UNRWA emblems on them into the tunnels, dozens and dozens of boxes, paid for by your government."

Audio recordings from Hamas radio communications revealed operatives offering stolen aid to one another, saying, "We have trucks overflowing with goods."
Another operative in the same video admitted to hoarding stolen aid, saying, "We have everything. In the meantime, we have no room in the stores."

Just to give balance…. I am sure you won’t mind.

I absolutely don't mind balance, but I am not sure you are bringing any.

In March, Netanyahu claimed that Hamas was taking control of all supplies and goods entering Gaza, which was used to justify the blockade. Since then, the GHF have been the only authorized aid distributor, and - if the intention was for them to distribute aid - it has been an abysmal failure.

Netanyahu's claim was, though, false - and it doesn't seem that anyone is willing to continue to defend it.

stomachamelon · 27/07/2025 02:48

Sorry I didn’t realise this was an echo chamber.
Even the BBC today has acknowledged today that plenty of aid is sat at the border that Israel has provided.
The issue the UN and aid agencies have with distributing it is Hamas. It is not in their interests nor is the success of the GHF.
Whatever I say is clearly not going to be accepted in good faith but you can’t Just make statements and expect them to go unchallenged.

EllytheNelephant · 27/07/2025 03:02

And even the head of the GHF resigned because Israel is acting inhumanely and has been unnecessarily withholding aid, and GHF staff are publicly accusing Israel of war crimes.

The GHF blame Israel.
The UN blame Israel.

Because Israel are to blame.

And given that Hamas have trucks overflowing with supplies and we know that huge crowds of hundreds of people are being shot at trying to storm the official aid locations desperate for food, you don't think just once or twice by now we would have heard of similar crowds of hundreds of starving people being shot at after storming the Hamas stores desperate for food? I mean every Gazan who is now absolutely desperate for food would know by now where Hamas is keeping all these overflowing trucks, right? We would have seen satellite images at the very least of all these overflowing trucks surely?

Logic is everything

Believing proporganda is all that’s left for Israeli supporters. There is a complete inability to see that Israel are starving an entire population.

Over 100 countries and charities have called them out on it
and Yet

Although tbf a lot of the early adamant posters have disappeared so perhaps they are now seeing there is clear forced starvation going on in Gaza

Time for the U.K. to follow the lead of others, most recently France, and recognise Palestine.

Time to give them hope
Time to stop the war

stomachamelon · 27/07/2025 13:46

They are still here just in more friendly sections than this one. Sadly most, if not all, are resigned to this not being a place where their voices can be heard.

Wonder why?

A lot of posters have disappeared on the other side too. Some of them probably had to leave (or name change) as got a lot of deletions.

Others probably just got tired of making and hearing the same arguments over and over again. I'm sure we can all relate to that.

I don't think Starmer will even consider recognising Palestine while this war is ongoing. It might be taken as a success for Hamas and thus appear to reward terrorism.

I agree I think it’s unlikely Starmer will ever step up but it will be interesting to see if he at least speaks of it once Trump has left.

Thanks for the heads up on Israel’s recent aid announcement

smallglassbottle · 27/07/2025 14:21

Starmer and the us are complicit in this enforced starvation.

Will the aid be distributed or will the idf use the people seeking food for target practice? I'm not holding my breath.

Tryonemoretime · 27/07/2025 15:48

So Israel provides the entire food supply for people that attacked them and are blamed when Hamas blocks it.
Yet Egypt - their Muslim brothers who also share a border with Gaza - isn’t expected to do anything. And can anyone tell me which Arab countries are actually offering help to Gaza? As I understand it, other Arab countries refuse to help Hamas and other Iran backed terror groups as they are lethal destabilising forces.
And the BBC, which is supposed to be reliable, aired a programme with a lad showing the devastation caused by Israel, only later admitting that the boy is a son of a Hamas operative?
Starving children? Makes me sick to my stomach. I really wish we could help them. But I'm not sure where the guilt for their starvation lies...Hamas knew what it was doing on October 7th. Its stated aim is to eradicate Israel. It can't do that by itself, so it's now enlisting the west. And we're falling for its lies.

According to more than 100 countries and charities etc the responsibility for the starvation of the people of Gaza whilst under attack by Israel lies with Israel. Or rather the Israeli Government.
That’s a lot of the world.

Then please tell me which Arab countries are offering to help Gaza? Which Arab countries are offering to help their fellow Arabs?
I'm a mother and grandmother. I absolutely hate seeing starving children in our media. If there was a scheme to offer up our homes to those children (as in the Ukrainian scheme) I'd be front of the queue. But my faith in our MSM has been rocked. And it's also been affected by the lack of coverage of the widespread murders of people in Northern Nigeria and the total ignoring of the starvation in Yemen. It's almost like "Let's focus on Israel, shall we?" "Let's not focus on the creeping Islamisation of the West. Let's not talk about what will happen if Hamas wins. What will happen to Israeli people. Gay people. Freedom of expression and dress for women." MSM is so short sighted, we can't trust them on this.
