On the BBC today. The UN has condemned using man made starvation as a war tactic. Surely we can come to a general consensus that whatever you think about the conflict, Israel's actions here are just plain evil?

Some if us see similarities. Genocide and ethnic cleansing is not reserved for one ethnic group meaning it can't be called out when it's used for another.

Because the Holocaust is utterly incomparable. Comparing a conflict, whereby both sides have committed criminal acts, to the mass feathering murder deportation torture and keeping in concentration camps of six million Jews is downplaying what the Jews went through. I don’t recall Hewish people being a terrorists group who raped and murdered Nazis.

Wailing ‘antisemitism’ no longer shuts down debate or discussion of this issue, the world is past that, it doesn’t work anymore.

No one is trying to shut down discussion, but antisemitism should always be called out, even when you want people to STFU and agree with you.

I didn’t say it was. I was challenging the notion that disarming Israel is a peaceful solution.

How are we even debating this? Israel is ( and has) committing war crimes. Its genocide and ethnic cleansing. Collect8ve punishment was used as a tool against Jewish people in the holocaust and the Israelis are using it now. . There is no excuses for our inaction. We cant pretend that we dont know. We are seeing the decimation of the Palestinian people. Israel should be treated as a pariah state.

As a war tactic, it’s utterly wrong and the UN is right to condemn it, wherever it is deployed. Feel sick to my stomach about it.

Doing something constructive with people who feel the same is a good antidote to feeling angry and helpless. I support Mothers Manifesto a group of mums who are campaigning for sanctions to be applied to any governments breaking international law by restricting access to food and imposing starvation on civilian populations.

Hamas was confiscating and selling the aid for high price to fund their war...
Sadly one, who would really want to, could argue that this is not starvation of population but starvation of terrorist organisation funds...
(not agreeing with the blockade, but it's not as simple as baddies vs goodies)
