To think forced starvation is just plain evil!

On the BBC today. The UN has condemned using man made starvation as a war tactic. Surely we can come to a general consensus that whatever you think about the conflict, Israel's actions here are just plain evil?

Just keep putting the information out there people. No point arguing with these elements, it's just a waste of time, and they know it.

We all know the truth. Even they do.

Famine? Well a I understand it, a famine has not been declared...

Oh well, if the technicalities aren't in place yet then you're winning aren't you? Winner, winner, chicken dinner.....sadly not for the Palestinians though.

I shall await the fateful announcement 🫡

Yet....which is why there is so much urgency to get humanitarian aid in and for Israel to stop the blockade. Do you expect people to ignore what's happening until it is officially declared a famine? If not what's your point?

Children are starving now, aid needs to get in now, whether it's declared a famine or not is irrelevant to those dying and suffering from malnutrition now! Plus it is not just about food it is about medical supplies

You really are making pretty ignorant comments now

there is no evidence of any hunger never mind starvation. There are all kinds of crazy lies thrown at Israel and Jews all the time. Baby killers is an old one. It’s sad but Israel has been vilified since its inception. The eternal hate towards Jews hasn’t gone anywhere and is no more rational than it ever was

Are you seriously saying that everything in Gaza is fine and dandy after they’ve had bombs dropped on them that have more than 5 times the power of the nuclear bombs dropped on Nagasaki and Hiroshima?
You just can’t be taken seriously.

There is no eternal hatred of Jews, people fall over themselves to avoid saying anything that could be construed as anti Semitic. But everyone is getting sick and tired of the baseless accusations of antisemitism from the likes of you because they disagree with war crimes.

You can throw about as much poison as you want, the world has finally had its eyes opened, Israel is now a pariah state.

Surely the issue here should be that Israel are killing more children than anyone else on the planet right now, not that people are talking about it? How messed up would it be just to ignore that it is happening?

Not only is there vast evidence, Israel’s own government are practically admitting to it.

They are clutching, but their deeply held hatred of Palestinians is what keeps them afloat.

Watch the same posters bob back up to the surface in a day or two. Defending and deflecting. It never stops.

There is no famine in Gaza/

This is a bit bonkers. The starvation and suffering in Gaza is widely known. It is odd to determinedly argue something that even neutral agencies have acknowledged as a fact, regardless of who you support.

I don't support Israel's actions at all, but I can show some compassion for the victims of the 7th October attack because that is what humanity is. If someone can't show compassion for the victims in Gaza I would wonder what kind of upbringing they had or brainwashing has gone on to completely eradicate any kind of moral compass. It is not normal to see images of starvation and then spend time trying to argue it's not that bad because here is a picture of fish!

@RoadtoVima@ssdwhen i read statements like that it is you that are stifling discussion. America has bombed Yemen, Sudanese people actually are starving and at war, Syria is being torn apart, the Druze are under constant attack.

and yet…… nothing…….

so I will ‘pop up’ when I feel like it. And I will disagree with you when I feel like it. Unless it’s a back slapping echo chamber you are after? I don’t have ‘deeply held hated’ for anyone as it’s happens. I do know though that the people I love deserve to live safely without someone trying to stab/ blow them up/ erase their very existence. And you are naive to think that wouldn’t happen. October 7th wasn’t just well trained Hamas fighters, nor crowds surrounding the parades of hostages.

and it will be interesting to see what Edan Alexander has to say about captivity although I have already read some of how he was treated and by whom. No doubt this will be put down to ‘Zionist propaganda’ too. All these statements prove is that both sides are horribly far apart and the chance for peace is far away. And that’s a horrific for all that involves.

ComeAsYouAreAsAFriend · 12/05/2025 20:46

It won't happen because the world would not let that happen. It is however currently happening to people in Gaza now and the world is not actively preventing it, many are justifying it. It shouldn't be a them or us scenario both Israelis and Palestinians deserve to live in peace and safety. I don't think erasing Palestinians from existence is the answer and I don't think you believe that the international community would do nothing if what is happening to Palestinians was happening to Israelis.

and it will be interesting to see what Edan Alexander has to say about captivity although I have already read some of how he was treated and by whom. No doubt this will be put down to ‘Zionist propaganda’ too
No one here has denied or condoned or justified what has happened to the hostages. That's the difference most don't justify horrific acts of terror. So your accusation that it would be put down to Zionist propaganda is goady and baseless

So every media outlet reporting the humanitarian crisis in Gaza is lying because they all hate Jews? Even conservative publications such as the Washington Post and the Economist are reporting that Gaza faces a critical famine risk yet you are still saying that there is no evidence of hunger at all?

stomachamelon · 12/05/2025 21:11

In response to that….

it HAS happened. Not just on October 7th but all the time. I am not going to insult your intelligence by wondering what you know about Israel and how many people have been killed by terrorists. How many days in the last years have been spent in bomb shelters. Of course it could happen. Imagine if there was no iron dome?

I can provide loads of quotes and actually there is a few on here that talk of propaganda and why Israel says things. Lots of people do all of the things you have listed and then do the whole….. oh to criticise Israel is not antisemitic. It’s not goady AT ALL. It’s factual. Some of the posts on here have been horrific. Not all by a long shot granted but people like the poster who actually state some understanding of why people feel strongly after October 7th are few and far between.

just out of interest how many times have you visited the Middle East? I have reread this thread and the accusations of hate in our hearts’ IS baseless and goady. I know why I feel the way I do but I would never presume to understand others motivations. It comes from love and an overwhelming sense of foreboding. I wish every day things could be different.

You said erase their very existence which is what I was referring to as not happened. I am talking about Israel and Gaza. This thread is about people starving to death in Gaza.

As I said in my response to you both Israelis and Palestinians deserve to live in peace and safety.

Some of the posts on here have been horrific.
That we can agree on

just out of interest how many times have you visited the Middle East? Never

I have reread this thread and the accusations of hate in our hearts’ IS baseless and goady.
People are commenting on some of the comments made about Palestinians on this thread and the posters that made them which for many sound heartless and dehumanising. We can only form our opinions of anonymous posters on a thread by the words they type and how they sound to us.

stomachamelon · 12/05/2025 21:39

ComeAsYouAreAsAFriend · 12/05/2025 17:33

You see the same posts worded the same way on numerous platforms over and over. Thankfully most commenters are now aware of what they are trying to do and call them out.

That’s based on this thread is it? I can form opinions to on people by ‘what they type and how they sound’

Also to reflect on your first paragraph. How far do you want Israel to let it go? How many wars? How many bombs and deaths? When does enough become enough as…… well it hasn’t happened yet? When someone tells you who they are enough you start to believe it. Dehumanisation occurs on both sides. I hope all the countries surrounding do something concrete to ease this situation as it cannot continue as it is.

Both sides have to want peace.

Another BBC article today outlining with unusual clarity the horrors taking place in Gaza.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cx27dzv7znpo

The fact that:

Israel broke the ceasefire that would have resulted in the release of Israeli hostages.

The deliberate goal by Israeli extremists to continue the war and replace Gazans with Israeli settlers

The deliberate blocking of humanitarian aid and medical supplies.

Some Israelis including families of hostages and airforce personne now arguing that Netanyahu is aiming to seize territory to hold on to power at the expense of the hostages and securing peace.

The fact that half of Gaza's 2 million population are children!

The facts cannot be clearer. We are witness to a genocide taking place.

Distressed women and children wait for food, holding out empty pots

Gaza: Israel denying food to Gaza is ‘weapon of war’, says Unwra chief

Two months after all humanitarian aid was blocked, Philippe Lazzarini tells international editor Jeremy Bowen “starvation is spreading” inside Gaza.

I agree with you @Farticus101

It is beyond comprehension

I understand Israel must protect itself and certainly it had to respond to October 7, but this is beyond any response seen before.

This is obliteration.
