To think forced starvation is just plain evil!

On the BBC today. The UN has condemned using man made starvation as a war tactic. Surely we can come to a general consensus that whatever you think about the conflict, Israel's actions here are just plain evil?

And when you say "they deserve it" who is "they"?

Seeing as you’re not able to comprehend I’ll explain. ‘They’ refers to the people in government who order this. ‘They’ are the people who rejoice at the death of innocents ‘They ‘ are not who you are trying so much to imply.

Why is Israel worse than North Korea? I mean NK is pretty bad- killed literally millions of their own people. Starved, brutalised, threatened nuclear war, regional destabilisation…

You really are trying aren’t you

DrPrunesqualer · 11/05/2025 22:09

Heres @Miri13 previous post to the one you referenced Comedy
This is what they meant, i assumed, as it was part of the rolling thread of comments.

Just in case Miri doesn’t come back to clarify

just noticed you came back Miri. Never mind I’ll leave this up anyway 👏

I hadn't even seen that but they have clarified anyway.

Dumbledore167 · 11/05/2025 22:28

So so many very educated and respected Jews are anti Zionist. Which in its current form and actions is a sadistic political movement, because it necessarily involves the extreme mistreatment of the indigenous population. To be anti Zionist is not to be antisemitic.

yellowspanner · 11/05/2025 23:59

The Israeli government have said they are keeping up the attacks in order to put pressure on Hamas to release the hostages .
And the people of Gaza are now demonstrating against Hamas but Hamas kill dissenters .... at least according to the BBC

Hamas were in line to continue releasing hostages in accordance with the last ceasefire agreement.
The Israeli Government broke that agreement as they were not willing to abide by the next stages They did not want to withdraw the IDF, they did not want Gaza rebuilt again for the Palestinian people.

All they have ever wanted is Gaza

ConkerGame · 12/05/2025 01:19

It’s pure evil. Nothing can justify it, not October 7th, nothing.

those saying “but Hamas” - no, there is never a good enough reason to starve children or target doctors.

The demonstrations, if you read more than your one source, were against the war and everyone who perpetuates it

These people are being starved.
These people have no medical aid
These people are dying
They want it to end.
Hamas were not there, why would they break cover fgs. !

Of note They regretted demonstrating as the Israeli Govn have twisted everything to make it about a demonstration against Hamas. This is Israeli Govn war propaganda picked up by their supporters.

let’s try a different article

‘Later they said they regretted participating’
So, one protestor regretted it given Israeli media response? If they had seen a response at all?

Think you might be reaching…

And the vast majority of Jews that I know are pro Zionism. And? It’s about the fundamental right to a Jewish homeland and not enmeshed in government policies.

The majority are still pro Zionist or is it just the ‘very educated and respected’ ones that are of interest to you?

Is there something funny about a baby that looks like it is days away from dying of malnutrition because I fail to see the joke .

Bloody hell, the laughing emojis in a reaction to this story. How the hell do you sleep at night? Do you think your reaction doesn't count because it's online?

JaneJeffer · 12/05/2025 12:36

I don’t even know what to say to someone who thinks this is funny

Of course it's awful that these particular children are starving. When you read their stories, however, it's mentioned that these children are very ill or need specialist food or feeding methods which they're having trouble accessing.

To be clear, that doesn't make their lives worth any less. It does mean, however, that using their images to represent 'children in Gaza' as a group is horrendously misleading.

I give up

Farticus101 · 12/05/2025 12:49

Not sure why my second post was deleted 🤔 I mentioned that killing people deliberately in the knowledge that they are innocent civilians can't be condemned in one situation but not the other. They are/ were all victims of terribly evil actions.

I do agree with the poster who mentioned that if Gazans had been white, there would be an uproar over what is happening. It is frightening that such evil is being accepted in some part because of their skin colour.

Although I disagree that Israel has any right over Palestinian land at all, I do appreciate the posters who (whilst they disagree with this) acknowledge that Israel's barbaric actions have gone too far and need to stop.

I can't understand the 'but Hamas...' reasoning in light of the mass murder of innocent children. Children have no control over Hamas and Israel's philosophy is ethnic cleansing. There is no debate about their actions - they intend to wipe out the children too.

Really? You can't think if any reason what Israel should exist? What should happen to it then?

Again this is what aid agencies have been saying. The most vulnerable in society are those who suffer first. That's why Israel preventing aid from entering Gaza is so appalling because it disproportionately targets the very vulnerable. Of course if it keeps up it will start affecting other demographics too but it doesn't take a genius to work out that when no medicine is allowed to enter an area it's going to be the sick and disabled that suffer. That when no food is allowed to enter an area it's going to be those who can't eat just anything who will suffer the most. It really makes you question why Israel are choosing to do this when they know it's the sick, the disabled, the very young that their measures are targeting?
