To think forced starvation is just plain evil!

On the BBC today. The UN has condemned using man made starvation as a war tactic. Surely we can come to a general consensus that whatever you think about the conflict, Israel's actions here are just plain evil?

It is without doubt evil. The Israel government and army have shown the world what horrors they are capable of.

Not only does my heart break for the 2 million innocent civilians being starved to death, but for the Jewish people who are at risk of rising antisemitism because of a rogue government, led by war criminals.

There are no winners here. This genocide must end by all governments refusing to arm and fund Israel.

This.

Notice how "starving" these people look?

What a disgusting thing to say.

Yes and that is why the situation is getting desperate and the international community are calling for humanitarian aid to start getting through and the blockade to be lifted.

@Comedycook what are you trying to achieve with your posts? You have posted extremely offensive things and questioned images of people in Gaza and whether they look hungry enough. What point are you making here? Do you think Israel should continue the blockade until it is a famine? Or we are just being overly dramatic?

What's anyone trying to achieve with their posts?! It's a forum where people discuss topics.

This afternoon I made a comment stating it's not yet a famine according to what I've read...how is that extremely offensive?

stomachamelon · 12/05/2025 17:13

@RandomWordsThrownTogethernot abroad no and that’s not what I was commenting on. The post I was responding to was about ‘clever’ Jews being anti Zionist and I pointed out that you can be pro Zionist and anti the policies of the government.

maybe the ‘random words thrown together’ need to be the right ones if you are @ me?

RandomWordsThrownTogether · 12/05/2025 17:17

Interesting how the “there’s no forced starvation in Israel” brigade evade the question on where they are based and where they get their news from. In case anyone is terribly depressed and think this is a reflection of the UK have a look at this article from the Washington Post on the various pro Israel apps and how they scan for anti Israel posts and even help their users write replies https://www.washingtonpost.com/technology/2024/01/24/gaza-israel-activism-online/

RandomWordsThrownTogether · 12/05/2025 17:22

Also if you think some of the straw man arguments posted here are absurd (they are fyi) has anyone seen the ridiculous statements by the Lawyers for Israel about it the food blockade increasing life spans by tackling obesity. You wonder what Universities gave them degrees - lawyers in my family instantly questioned if they are not worried about being struck off the register for bringing the profession into disrepute! Also you just have to see videos with the American settlers in the West Bank to see where actually has an obesity problem.

You see the same posts worded the same way on numerous platforms over and over. Thankfully most commenters are now aware of what they are trying to do and call them out.

That’s not accurate, no. No one is starving in Gaza despite all the propaganda

How do you know, are you there?

Unfortunately it is more complex than that now with AI - in some cases people write things themselves but are aided by the apps so it’s not just a simple case of copy and paste anymore - the apps also allow people look for help with particular arguments. Microsoft developed an AI too just for the IDF! There has been a lot of deliberate deflection and straw man arguments on the thread that try to swing conversations away from the real issues which makes me wonder about app use!

Yes it’s actually a lot more advanced now, they’ve approached influencers offering thousands for pro Israel content too. Oxford University did a report about countries use if technology - the section on Israel is really eye opening.

That is so true. I have noticed on Instagram/ Tik Tok a huge amount of posts from very pro Israeli accounts even though my algorithm based on accounts I am following would suggest the opposite.

The premise is the same as 10 years ago but the technology has moved on.

Yes it still happens. Hasbara trolls are everywhere.
In interests of balance, this is not unique to Israel in that I don’t know about countries but many organisations and large corporations employ rapid rebuttal units etc

hummousnothamas · 11/05/2025 08:35

Of course you don’t care what Hamas has done.

If you cared you’d have to question the simplistic good guy/bad narrative you are enjoying.

And maybe you have so dehumanized Israeli children, women and men that you genuinely don’t care. In which case you have become the monster you claim to hate.

Humanitarian organisations and the world’s press are all stating very clearly that “Israel is starving Gaza” and you’re accusing people on a forum of dehumanising Israeli children. And trying to take the moral high ground into the bargain! WTF.

RoadtoVima · 12/05/2025 19:22

Comedycook · 12/05/2025 16:38

I could be wrong..but a quick internet search says that they are at risk of famine. Now I'm not denying food shortages nor am I denying that people may be suffering from malnourishment but I don't think it's officially been declared a famine, has it? Therefore if that's the case, to say there's no famine is not actually incorrect?

Now I'm not denying food shortages nor am I denying that people may be suffering from malnourishment

You have denied so much on so many threads on this topic. Your user name is synonymous with the denial of Palestinian suffering.

What proof would make you happy? Cos I am really exasperated at anyone denying that these people are fucking starving to death!

there is no evidence of any hunger never mind starvation. There are all kinds of crazy lies thrown at Israel and Jews all the time. Baby killers is an old one. It’s sad but Israel has been vilified since its inception. The eternal hate towards Jews hasn’t gone anywhere and is no more rational than it ever was

smallglassbottle · 12/05/2025 19:25

I suppose it explains why the ridiculous arguments used by some people are being utilised. They'd have to be actually daft to believe them. I suppose anyone would argue 2+2=5 if they're paid enough. Money 🙄 how tacky and base. Selling their soul to the devil. Literally.

I'd advise doing more training. These 'arguments' are level 1. Basic. Nobody believes them. Not even children.

Proof of:

  1. dinosaurs ever existing
  2. people who ride motorbikes have kidneys
  3. Palestinians are starving

🤔
