Beckhams

Am I unreasonable to feel sorry for Victoria and David beckham over the so called ‘rift’ with their son, which Victoria says is her worst nightmare. I know from experience how this situation can get out of hand and how heartbreaking it is when a beloved child breaks contact with their parents .

naturally the media is blaming the woman!

Isn't 1 son a footballer/model?

MrsCravensworth · 07/05/2025 12:48

Okay, so I have too much time on my hands at the moment and need a distraction from my own shitty life.

I read that One of the other sons is currently engaged to Brooklyns ex girlfriend and that’s why Brooklyn and his wife won’t go any events they are at and it’s caused a rift.

LlynTegid · 07/05/2025 13:20

Much as I dislike so called milestone birthday OTT celebrations, I do have sympathy for David and Victoria Beckham and the estrangement from one of their sons.

David Beckham incidentally I respected for the hard work he put in to get where he did in his football career.

EachandEveryone · 07/05/2025 13:24

I see their “good friend” Elton John seems to have pulled away from them and he’s usually very loyal

Scratchingaroundinthesameoldhole · 07/05/2025 13:35

I assume Brooklyn is upset that his whole childhood was played out in the media.

Viviennemary · 07/05/2025 13:38

I feel a little bit sorry for them as it's not nice to be rejected by your kids. But I don't like them very much. Too pushy and too involved in their children's lives.

Themagicfarawaytreeismyfav · 07/05/2025 11:27

Apparently Brooklyns wife has form for starting an argument right before family events therefore ensuring Brooklyn doesn’t attend. Obviously no one but them know the actual truth of what’s going on but it definitely gives prince Harry and Megan vibes! Weak spineless manchild with a domineering wife!

Of course she is. Because it’s impossible for any man to do anything other than bow down to his wife. At least that’s what the tabloid would have you believe of any woman who joins a beloved public family. They’re all just bitches, out to ruing happy families. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Scratchingaroundinthesameoldhole · 07/05/2025 13:52

If Brooklyn doesn't turn up to his Dad's birthday can't we just assume the fight is between them rather than blame the women

babystarsandmoon · 07/05/2025 13:52

I do feel for David and Victoria to an extent.

I see two parents who have probably given the world to their children but.. like many famous kids Brooklyn is portrayed as a talentless failure.

While I don’t blame the Beckhams for wanting their kids to be successful they should have been pushed into finding a regular career and staying out of the limelight as buying their way/using their name or contacts to get into jobs has made Brooklyn look like a fool when it hasn’t worked out and that’s bound to cause resentment.

I do assume the fight is between them. (Brooklyn and David).

Because if you think about it, that would be an extreme amount of hatred and spite for Peltz to feel towards the Beckhams if it IS her. An insane amount.

But no matter. Like I said earlier. David will be there for his kids long after the women have gone.

Romeo. I think they are heading towards trying to facilitate the daughter, Harper to become a fashion designer /"influencer" etc in the future by the comments I've read. She is currently only 13.
Their kids aren't very talented at anything because they've never had to work at anything or the chances to find out what they are good at, naturally. DB was a good footballer but VB can't really sing and just got lucky with the Spice Girls. Her fashion designs are also dreadful.

What's the rift about? There are loads of articles but I'm none the wiser...

Edited

No way of knowing what is happening in the fiercely guarded private lives of the Beckhams.

I don't want to be mean or catty but VB came a long way for not being very talented and she's done fine, I do think they wanted their kids to find their own way but I guess being mega rich there wasn't much incentive.

The rift is supposedly between Nicola and Kim (girlfriend of Romeo or the other one) and Nicola won’t be at any events that Kim attends. The Beckham are sick of this and are leaving them to it, apparently, allegedly,

Brooklyn is a knob and I never got good vibes about Nicola and her family. I do feel sorry for Victoria and David though. My friend used to live with Vic when they were at stage school and has nothing but nice things to say about her (except that Vic still owes her cash for a takeaway)

Cynic17 · 07/05/2025 14:46

Anyone who organises 4 separate birthday parties for themselves is just an idiot, so my sympathy is in short supply.
Speaking as someone who us about to have a birthday with a zero on the end, I have no idea why anyone would care or want to make a fuss. I certainly won't be!
The reality is that none of us knows what happens in other people's families.

CantStopMoving · 07/05/2025 14:47

No one has any idea what is going on in their family

but he is a grown man. He is married. He shouldn’t be at the beck and call of his parents anymore (no pun intended!)

he lives in the US. They live in the UK. Yes it would have been nice if he had attended the party but he is living his own life and maybe doesn’t want to be paraded around on their instagram accounts anymore. He can’t win really.

he’s married someone rich and let’s face it, a bit dim just like him and he seems very happy. I think they should be left alone to just spend their riches tbh!

Well....I remember when they bought Brooklyn some fuck off sports car worth something ridiculous like £150k when he was about 18, so they only have themselves to blame
No work ethic at all
And didn't they kit out a recording studio for one of the other sons who was musical for about 5 minutes

LindorDoubleChoc · 07/05/2025 14:50

Is there even a rift? Has anyone in the family actually commented on any of this? Maybe there is a reason why Brooklyn didn't go.

There were rumours about Brooklyn and Kim who were in the same social circle, but everyone has denied they were ever an item. Seems Nicola and Kim just don’t get on. Maybe.

Friartruckster · 07/05/2025 15:17

Slow news day here for me too so will step up with my tuppence worth.

I think because who gives ‘a’ about my opinion 😉 good on Brooklyn for stepping out of the firm and going private, happily spending his millions.

Dreco · 07/05/2025 17:49

Brooklyn, the village idiot

The best thing he could do is get himself out of the limelight and actually work at learning something - everyone is good at something - he comes across like he can’t do anything at all. He’s an absolute clown. I wonder if he has the self awareness to be a bit embarrassed by it but I doubt it

We’re fucking human and naturally curious species.

I agree. It's a natural thing to be curious and to gossip.

If you read Sapiens by Noah Yuval Harari he explains that one of the reasons for the success of Homosapiens as a race is our need for gossip and the ability to share information between groups of people. It's actually quite important and there's a reason we do it.

JSMill · 07/05/2025 20:01

There was a boy in my ds’s class at school who came from a very close knit family of 5, three boys. The parents were very warm and supportive and always present at school events. As the years went on, I felt a bit envious of how the parents were able to get their dcs to continue to socialise with them, on days out, meals etc. I did feel the mum was a bit of a matriarch but thought whatever, they’re happy. Then, last year one of the boys met a girl and completely cut his family, blocking them on everything. They just found out he got married as someone else saw it on Facebook. I wondered if perhaps being so close knit was smothering him and meeting a girl was a way out. Could this be the case here?

See! There is an actual reason I mainline Tattle and Digital Spy.
