To think MNHQ should delete all chat about ‘the golden/bonus dose’ for those on WLI?

I use the weight loss forums quite a lot and with the arrival of WLI they are busier than ever. But, it’s worrying the amount of people who are misusing their prescription and discussing with others how to do so. Should MNHQ take action here?

The irony that this post has effectively become the most comprehensive guide on how to take the golden doses I’ve yet seen on Mumsnet has really made my day. 🤣🤣

I’m actually really pleased with how this thread went

Thank you. This is the advice I’m going to follow.

thanks to everyone for explaining, even the ones who were slating me for just not having the knowledge or understanding initially. I got there and who knows, maybe I will be ordering insulin needles soon!!

Thank you for your posts saying you were BU.
If you decide to get the needles and syringes, these are good.

Have you tried reading the full thread?

Sometimes it can stop you looking a bit daft.

Don't stop on my account though.

What??

yes I've read the thread, I was replying to the post I quoted.

you've only made yourself look daft!

I did engage in conversation. I also said ages ago I agree IWBU, I also repeated it multiple times. Perhaps you are the one not ‘engaging’

Well, you didn't engage with my post, just a snappy one line reply.

I'm glad you've realised how ridiculous and unreasonable you were being

The situation wasn’t comparable that’s why I didn’t get into a discussion.

@AugustMounjaroTeamcan I ask a question about this (sorry to derail an old thread) if I’m going to to 5 soon, how many ml would I need of 2.5 to get the same as 5. Is it double? I know I sound stupid here but I genuinely am 😂

Gustavo77 · 27/05/2025 23:24

I agree 100%. It should not be condoned in any way, it's not how the drug is manufactured or prescribed so it should not be publicised or encouraged.

They’re not condoning something by allowing the discussion.

You have a 2.5 dose pen, but want to double dose? - 1.2ml via a syringe to do a 5mg dose. Expensive way of doing it, though.

0.6ml (60 clicks) is the full dose of whatever strength pen you have.

Right, but not everyone is as able as you or I. I saw a poster once ask where you put the needle in to get the liquid out and it baffled me that after following instructions 4 times to use her pen that she didn’t cotton on she was putting a needle in to the pen and that’s how it came out. If she know she would have know where to put the needle for the extra. People who have less understanding are more likely to get it wrong.

So because some people cannot follow instructions, the rest of us should pay more.

Why do you care, why is it so important to you?

DubLass · 28/05/2025 17:08

More fool you throwing away money like that !!!!

xFatherDickByrnex · 28/05/2025 18:18

I save my pens. Every few months I have enough for 1 month at the recommended dose. 😎

Pens are only good for 30 days according to the manufacturers?

  • how long are you holding on to them for?

But why wouldn't you just use up the fifth dose before starting the next pen?
