Trans protest- sharing for balance

1000 replies

Tandora · 20/04/2025 11:47

There’s a thread sharing some really awful images from the protest, so I wanted to share some positive ones for the sake of some perspective/ balance.
A lot of people are really understandably incredibly angry and overwhelmed by the events of the last few days. But most people who support trans rights absolutely don’t condone fighting oppression and injustice with misogyny.

Anyone point me to the thread with the terrible images? I've missed it and need to see it "for balance".

do you propose genital inspections for every ‘athletic’ or ‘hairy’ woman? Because that’s the logical endpoint of your ‘verifiable sex’ standard—and it’s grotesque.

Don't be a bloody idiot 🙄

@Tandora One of your pictures shows a sign declaring: 'This Lesbian Says Trans Women Are Women"

I wonder if she will be comfortable sleeping with a lesbian with a cock and balls because many transwomen (aka men) say they are a lesbian and sleep with women not men.

Always assuming of course that it was an actual lesbian holding the sign

Well if you go to Reddit the lesbian groups are either porn or have been totally captured by TW who want desperately to be lesbians (the final frontier, the women who reject men so totally that men can’t cope) to the point where the groups have few women in them at all.

The real lesbians end up in separate groups until the men find those too and dismantle them as well.

If only these men could do their own work instead of relying on women to create things for them to either colonise or destroy. I was sick of this 10 years ago.

I get the impression Tandora doesn't understand what fascism means.

Edited

Tandora clearly hasn't matured beyond the level of a 13 year old who calls their mum a fascist for making them tidy their room.

Tandora · 20/04/2025 15:54

Scentbird · 20/04/2025 15:48

No.

Again the comprehension is lacking.

you claim the court ruling isn’t clear. That some women, are interpreting in a way that’s damaging to trans people.

I pointed out then the protest doesn’t make senses unless the protest was simply because they don’t like some women having an opinion they don’t agree with. A small amount of women according to you.

You then compared that to apartheid.

Apartheid is in no way similar to a group of women having an opinion that is not backed by the authorities and the law. Because apartheid was not a small group of women’s opinion and was back by the authorities and the law.

To compare it to apartheid is horrific . But to do so you must acknowledge that women do have the backing of the law. So you know the judgement was clear. Trans women are not women.

Let me try again,

There is the judgement itself.

Then there is the way the judgement is being used and interpreted.

Despite certain posters on here pretending that they already know and understand what this judgement is all about, having fully read it. The fact is that even major legal organisations have not been confident to put out full statements/ interpretations yet. They have all said we need time to go through and analyse/ digest.

The media have already been widely reporting on this judgement in a way which which is misleading . Institutions have already come out and made statements to the effect that they will be responding based on these interpretations.

The judgement has been widely interpreted (on both sides) as effectively banning trans women from all spaces designated for women, and declaring that instead they must used those associated with their biological sex . This is what has incited these protests.

I still want to know if having separate mens and womens facilities (regardless of the trans debate) is apartheid and/or fascism.

Don’t be daft, they have a simple cheek swab now.
No need to look I anyone’s pants, as people like you are so fond of suggesting.

Minuethippo · 20/04/2025 15:55

No, it’s not racist—it’s biological fact. Black, Asian, and other women of color often have naturally more body hair or athletic builds due to genetics. As a brown woman, should I have to ‘prove’ I’m female with a genital check or hormone test? Because that’s where this logic leads. I have more hair than my husband and if I go for a short cut, I look like a small Asian man. Do I need to fight for a third toilet space?

Genitals have nothing to do with anything when a simple cheek swab will suffice to determine sex. Far less invasive and/or humiliating. And besides, something like 92% of TW retain their genitals anyway.

FlirtsWithRhinos · 20/04/2025 15:55

Tandora · 20/04/2025 15:38

So you literally cannot believe trans women are women unless you believe there is a fundamental and significant difference between men and women's minds.
IS that what you believe Tandora?

No

What do you believe the difference between men and women is Tandora?

Clearly you do believe there is a difference, a sigificant difference, between men and women, because otherwise you could not be so very clear that trans women are women and not men.

And clearly you believe that difference is important enough to justify the existence of women-only spaces that exclude men, because otherwise you would not be so very concerned that trans woman can legally be exlcuded from these spaces.

So it can't be hard at all for you to tell us what that difference, that super super important difference, the one that is causing such an outpouring of pain and distress from trans people and allies today, actually IS, right?

When do you think you’re going to present us with some proper, real, hardcore evidence to back up the claim that ‘sex is not binary’ and that ‘trans women are women’?

When are you going to support your argument, you know, effectively?

I see that no evidence has been posted. As usual. But what is strange is that there has been claim that the poster has posted a great deal of information on MN including links in the past. This seem rather incredible. Most of time we seem to be asking this poster to post evidence, and we keep being told to google.

There really seems to be a disconnect somewhere here.

But what is great is that since Tandora has posted lots of links and evidence, Tandora will be able to post this all again when it is time to support their claims. They can no longer claim that it is too hard to dig out of their PhD thesis etc. So, I think we must be entering into a new era!

What a shite response, you really are the ilk of Matthew Hopkins. Getting others to wipe up.

That's a very creepy transactivist fantasy right there. Single sex spaces have operated for years with people following the social contract and zero mention of "genitals". Then a group of men claiming to be women rocked up demanding access to women undressing, toileting etc. and suddenly all over the place with their mentions of genitals.
Obviously still in schoolboy mode.

Fight for one of you want, but it’s usually very easy to tell the sexes apart.

The only times people claim to have issues are in publications with an agenda to make out it’s a huge problem, which it isn’t.

Hoydenish · 20/04/2025 15:58

Ohai there, has anyone had a go at explaining what makes a transwoman a woman, how does it happen, at what point does it happen, can I become one?

TIA.

Actually, no, it's mostly because your hair is much darker so you notice it more. And I say this as someone whom also comes from a hirsute ethnicity. An equally hirsute caucasian woman with blond hair wouldn't be as noticeable due to her colouring.

And yes, given the way you have worded things, it does sound racist.

These differences have been explained on any number of threads. I posted a long considered post about this yesterday and only one person cared to respond. You aren’t interested in hearing or understanding. There’s nothing that anyone can explain to someone who takes that attitude.

Edited

It doesn't matter that "these differences have been explained on any number of threads". This is a different thread that you started. And if you "posted a long considered post about this yesterday" (presumably on one of the "any number of threads") why don't you copy and paste it here? You know, for balance.
