Another mosley cashing in

Sickofitandmore · 20/04/2025 07:48

Partnered with the Daily mail as usual. Michael Mosleys son is taking over the task of cashing in on people's weight struggles. So now instead of being plagued with his late df's money extracting diet plans, we are going to be subjected to Jack Mosley's take on weight loss drugs. Such blatant jumping on the band wagon to squeeze some money out. People are losing lots of weight with the weight loss jabs and no longer need to pay people to give them another faddy diet plan. WW has felt it, SW will hopefully be next and when will the Mosleys just bugger off?!

Yeah you're right OP. People should just inject themselves with fuck knows what rather than make conscious decisions about what they cram in their gob.

Oh and the jabs have been used for 20+ years for treatment of diabetes ..by helping people to low weight.

TonTonMacoute · 20/04/2025 10:03

I read about Jack in the Times. He is a trained doctor who wrote his thesis on weight loss, unsurprisingly in view of his father.

The book is clearly warning about the dangers of WLI and how they must be used with extreme caution. The person who wrote the interview said that they had been considering trying WLI, but after talking to Jack said they definitely wouldn't now. So you didn't even get your facts right.

You also seem to have a bizarre resentment about people having a successful business, although like PPs I found MM's IF programme very successful and spent no money on it all.

I'd go and have a lie down.

This thread is horrible. What’s wrong with you OP?

Hangry for a chocolate egg probably
with truffles inside.

Tumblingthrough · 20/04/2025 10:10

What a strange post OP.
You sound so bitter.

Longma · 20/04/2025 10:10

RoastLambs · 20/04/2025 08:22

But not his own research.

I don’t know why it’s better that a doctor is using what other people have researched rather than a traditional influencer.

Do you not understand how scientific research works?

Do not think a medical graduate, who has trained and studied at a high academic level, how understands medicine and its affect on the human body and who will have used analytical methods and skills to assimilate the research findings wouldn’t be better placed to offer such advice , other an influencer with none of that background, training, academic qualifications and skills?

really?

ResultsMayVary · 20/04/2025 10:13

His son sounds qualified and I think it's unsurprising he's following in his father's footsteps.

I think I bought one book many years ago, watched some one his TV series, and read free information online.

I found some of his information life changing especially my relationship with hunger and breakfast. And I'm now around 44 pounds lighter.

It's great injectables are working for some it they're not for everyone.

MyUmberSeal · 20/04/2025 07:58

Heaven forbid people want to lose weight without jacking up weekly.

Jacking up 😂I don't take them myself but they're not freaking heroin.

Ihateboris · 20/04/2025 10:18

So Wegovy, Ozempic et al are not " cashing in"?

Sunbeam01 · 20/04/2025 10:19

Jack Mosley has also had the article published in The Times, The Independent.... so not sure why you've only chosen to focus on The DM?

I think it's good of him to provide advice for those on weight loss injections on how to maintain their loss - for free.

MyUmberSeal · 20/04/2025 10:21

Karasis · 20/04/2025 10:18

No, heroin is cheaper 🤣. You never see an overweight crackhead 🤣.

RhaenysRocks · 20/04/2025 10:03

Oh and the jabs have been used for 20+ years for treatment of diabetes ..by helping people to low weight.

Crack on injecting yourself with them then. I'm sure it will all be fine.

sweeneytoddsrazor · 20/04/2025 08:14

3 of my work colleagues have said they have been on WLI. 2 of those have suffered badly with side effects and stopped taking them.

And so you concluded what from your mini survey?

Pussycat22 · 20/04/2025 10:41

Sickofitandmore · 20/04/2025 08:02

I get that my opinion may be unpopular with many Mosley fans. I was once one of you. But with each slightly adapted book (usually around Dec/January) and following the trends while going back completely on things that were previously stated in older books, plus partnering with the Daily Mail, I lost the respect. I realised it was all about the cash. I actually hope that all of the fake, money grabbing, diet and fitness industry suffer now that people are empowered to be able to lose weight with the assistance of these drugs instead.

Don't buy the books!

Sapienza · 20/04/2025 10:45

What is the old quote - 'you either get bitter or you get better.'

Sorry you didn't get better, OP.

Tumblingthrough · 20/04/2025 10:46

Not everyone wants to take the drugs route.

Many prefer the healthier option

Dodeedoo · 20/04/2025 10:49

You need to chill out. Don’t read the stuff if you don’t want to. It’s no biggie

RhaenysRocks · 20/04/2025 10:50

Seeyouincourtkeithyoutwat · 20/04/2025 10:40

And so you concluded what from your mini survey?

And I'm on a thread with dozens of us who are taking them with minimal or none. Many are in the situation where any potential side effects are less of an issue than the issues associated with high weight. I don't want to turn this into yet another WLI bashing / defending thread but why is it so difficult for people to just speak respectfully to each other about it ..maybe the ones likening it to heroin should do some actual research and not just assume it's about laziness.

BlondiePortz · 20/04/2025 10:53

If people were so obsessed there would be nothing to cash in on, no one is forced to go alone with it and there are people who can think for themselves as rare as it seems these days

WhatHoJeeves · 20/04/2025 10:55

Ah, Happy Easter to you too!

Hellohelga · 20/04/2025 10:57

I’m confused by this post. Surely you could buy all MM books for the price of one month of WLI? Isn’t it the drug companies cashing in?

nongnangning · 20/04/2025 11:00

FFS. OP you will find your people on the Meghan Markle hater threads on the Royal Family topic.
If the son Jack can carry on the brilliant work of MM in a similar style - by which I I mean public interest science communication - and earn a living while doing it (meaning some buy books or products and others who can't afford it can get for free online, on BBC etc) what's not to like about this?

Although the WLI seem to be reasonably safe to use, they are already proving to be not a magic bullet for everyone and if you stop taking them you need to follow a healthy diet or all the weight just comes back.

On MM and the Daily Mail. I'm sure I remember MM being asked about this in an interview and he said "I know some find it distasteful but it's about going where the most people are to share the advice".

EveryFlavourJellyBeans · 20/04/2025 11:00

You realise that not everyone can take weight loss drugs right? Those of us who are slightly overweight and only need to shift a stone wouldn't be entitled to them. I've had to lose weight the old fashioned way and I'm grateful for people like Michael Mosley who pointed me in the right direction.

SwedishEdith · 20/04/2025 11:01

HelenWheels · 20/04/2025 08:14

gosh
i thought this was about Oswald Mosley and fascism.

i am sure Jack will do some good

Me too!

Katypp · 20/04/2025 11:02

Sorrelbird · 20/04/2025 09:35

YABU for looking at the DM

What a silly contribution to this thread. I bet you feel wise after that.

Hwi · 20/04/2025 11:04

Sickofitandmore · 20/04/2025 07:55

No they're not for most people but they actually help scientifically, where all the faddy diets and mumbo jumbo do not.
I'm just sick of the Mosleys and here comes another one to cash in.

Edited

Be reasonable - faddy diets and mumbo jumbo are natural, WLI are messing with the person's natural biology big time. Do you not see that? It is strange to see such enthusiasm for WLI on MN which only a few days ago applauded the SC decision because it was natural biology and common sense (which it was, I agree).
