Could be anything really and am hoping it’s this is a lighthearted thread.

I live less than 100 metres from the beach but hardly ever go there. I love “knowing” it’s there but seem to also forget it’s there somehow.

So what do you perhaps take for granted or don’t realise how others would appreciate it?

OP posts:

Haha I was going to say an air fryer but I did actually use it today, first time in months 😂

NuffSaidSam · 19/04/2025 22:10

A well stocked first-aid kit. Thankfully, never needed to use it beyond the odd plaster or paracetamol.

MrsMAFs · 19/04/2025 22:11

Ooh following on from air fryer - ninja smoothie maker. But live in a small new build with barely any worktop so put it in a cupboard and forget about it. Not to mention the stuff to make smoothies costs a fair whack so it's a bit redundant really.

MrsMAFs · 19/04/2025 22:12

Also live close go the North Yorkshire Moors. Can't remember the last time I actually walked on them but would be at least 30 years ago.

WingBingo · 19/04/2025 22:12

I used to live in Torbay and other than in my childhood where I spent it mainly beside the sea, I stopped going.

Also I love my car but I barely get to drive it.

CheeseWisely · 19/04/2025 22:13

Same as you OP. We can see the beach from home but the temperature has to be 25+ for me to want to spend time there.

On the other hand if we had a forest nearby we’d never be out of it.

Wigtopia · 19/04/2025 22:13

A driveway (in London!) but no car.

TheWayTheLightFalls · 19/04/2025 22:14

Two gardens. I always feel like a twat explaining.

CheeseWisely · 19/04/2025 22:14

And following from the first aid kit, a fire extinguisher and a life vac. Neither were especially cheap so not necessarily something everyone would have, but I sincerely hope we never have to use either!

I’m guessing you don’t mean front and back?

No. It’s hard to describe and too late for a diagram but there’s a separate back garden on either side of the house (and a front garden). Imagine an isosceles triangle shaped plot with a rectangular house plonked in the middle.

MyIvyGrows · 19/04/2025 22:24

A car.

Allthenameshavegone1972 · 19/04/2025 22:25

Countryside. We live in a small village surrounded by fields with footpaths we can use. Can't remember the last time I went for a good walk over them. I do more walking when I go to London

In my previous job I worked a stone's throw from the British museum, but how often did I pop in during my lunchtime? That'll be never 😂

Whynotaxthisyear · 19/04/2025 22:27

A home gym, sadly.

ThreePointOneFourOneFiveNine · 19/04/2025 22:28

I lived five minutes from Marwell Zoo for several years and didn’t visit once.

We had a lovely jacuzzi bath fitted about a year and a half ago. I’ve used it twice. Then I tried to use it recently and discovered it doesn’t work 😢

Inspired by the iPad kid thread - an iPad. Comes out only if the kids are on a plane.

My boiling rage. Can count on one hand the amount of times I have used it in my 46 years. And I mean volcano.

I mainly simmer in silence.

Pet insurance. Thankfully, so far, neither DDOg or DCat has needed it.
