Could be anything really and am hoping it’s this is a lighthearted thread.

I live less than 100 metres from the beach but hardly ever go there. I love “knowing” it’s there but seem to also forget it’s there somehow.

So what do you perhaps take for granted or don’t realise how others would appreciate it?

A Marni blazer. Cost a fortune and is beautiful but I haven't ever worn it. I just look at it every so often.

You could treat it as art and put it where you can see it.

matchacatcha · 20/04/2025 06:27

I have a swimming pool in my apartment complex and have never used it once. I love swimming which makes it worse.

Bringbackjaspers · 20/04/2025 06:29

A DH with ten inches but serious medical condition that means I can't partake these days. Good memories will have to suffice. Sadly true. What a waste. Sorry. That's a bit depressing for a lighthearted thread but I have to laugh or I'd cry.

Katemax82 · 20/04/2025 06:37

A decent roadbike. I went on a few 25 mile rides with do years ago but I've never ride my current bike!

LillyPJ · 20/04/2025 06:38

My violin. I played for over 40 years and stopped about 5 years ago.

The nuclear codes.

A healthy-ish body! Need to actually use that and then maybe I’d remove the -ish!

A swimming pool and a gym!

Live in the Middle East and have a gorgeous pool and a gym just down stairs, very rarely use the gym, trying to use the pool more! I am a new mum so finding time is hard.

in fact in our previous place we also had a sauna and a steam room which i always thought about using but never did!

An out door pizza oven and an indoor pizza oven as well . To much hard work cooking from scratch for either and I’m “not allowed” to even think about putting a shop bought pizza in either . 😆

This is why we don't have one of these even though I've thought about buying one as I love good wood fired pizza.

But I hate making it and it's never as good as a couple of places locally so I've vowed to go there when I want pizza, after all, it's relatively low cost for eating out and if you worked out how many times you needed to use an outdoor pizza oven for it to be financially worth it, it would be loads and we just wouldn't.

Mine is the woods local to where I work. Except that I did go for a walk there last week. For the first time in the 30+ years that I've worked where I do.

I like walking and I always think 'I should go for a walk in the woods at lunchtime' and it's only taken over 30 years to actually get off my arse and do it. And it was glorious as it's beautiful ancient woodland, not massive, but perfect for a lunchtime stroll.

Some beautiful pairs of high-heeled shoes.

I’m mostly out dog walking nowadays.

SagittariusUprising · 20/04/2025 07:07

Garden, garden furniture and BBQ.

We made it through lockdown in a small third floor flat and after that I thought we’d spend any sunny hours we had at home in our new garden, but we just don’t, no idea why.

Nannyfannybanny · 20/04/2025 07:10

MrsMAF, frozen fruit (we shop in Lidl) always got banana as a base, long life soya milk,linseed/flax seeds, always got them, unprocessed oats, frozen spinach (I grow my own,) they don't cost much to make. Answer to the question, was a pasta maker, I developed Tenosynovitis and arthritis in my hands and couldn't use it!

Horses7 · 20/04/2025 07:24

Open top sports car - did 35 miles last year 🙈
Jacuzzi bath used handful of times over 10 years - odd because I used to love a bath. Thank goodness we never got a hot tub.
Bread machine
Soup maker
Slow cooker….the list goes on and on ….

tilypu · 20/04/2025 07:29

My ninja creami. I absolutely love it. I just rarely have enough space in the freezer to use it.

romatheroamer · 20/04/2025 07:30

An out building with power, carpeted, curtains. Previous owners it had a bed and tv as well, used by a visiting parent. Now only used to store one or two things, go in the toolshed far more often.

PinkCatInATree · 20/04/2025 07:31

Good thread! Kitchen gadgets that are still in the boxes from moving three years ago ... Some crystal glasses that I was going to collect but haven't and now they feel too chunky for everyday use.

Hoping not to use the tumble dryer again until November ....

Sorry to hear this - is it too flippant to say things always seem worse at (around) 3am?

gannett · 20/04/2025 07:56

Private health care. It was one of the reasons I was lured into a staff job from being self-employed and that was the cue for every minor ailment I intended to get sorted out to just disappear by themselves.

Needtosoundoffandbreathe · 20/04/2025 07:58

A panic button to set the intruder alarm off. Something I'm happy not to have used. I've also got a gadget that makes cream from milk and butter...somewhere!

Hi @StevesLavaChicken - I hope you’re ok and that your comment was meant flippantly? 😊

If you’re feeling really low - please let someone know in real life or call/ chat or email the Samaritans and talk it through. ((https://www.samaritans.org/how-we-can-help/contact-samaritan/))

Feel better soon xx

allthemiddlechildrenoftheworld · 20/04/2025 08:06
